Made a review the other day about being told they were too busy to serve me(only 2 cars in parking lot) and having windo slammed in my face. Now today had friend stop by in a car thinking hey maybe today I can get some lu. He was told they aren't serving burgers (it's a burger joint) and was given some chili cheese fries and nothing else. When i got them... my job is less than 1 min away, was cold and soggy, and all the cheese was mashed on the box. Can we please shut this Checkers on Remount Rd, Chas SC down. Last review I was instructed to write checkers complaints.com and got nowher. I'd just like my money back and this place to do better. If it's corporate, maybe it's time y'all stepped in. I wasn't going to review this, but since ive been waiting (trapped in) the drive thru for over 15mins, only 3 cars back, I might as well. Lets see... Only 1 lane open, but no sign to tell you so and the girl working the window could not figure out a simple 2 combo order. When we finally got to the pick up window, the girl's first words were: "So, what did you order?" Needless to say, after some laughs and some explinations we got our food. Was it good? Let me go ahead and start with the fact that I am a patient man. But patience only goes so far. I have seen glaciers move faster than this place. We arrived and there was a small group of us (three orders in total) . My daughter and I ordered last of the three. We got our food after the car that had pulled up after us and the person who walked up after the group that walked up behind us (that's right a two groups back). Then another car got their food as did the people behind us. Then the first people in our group finally got their food (it's been a solid 20 minutes) at this point. I don't remember Checkers being THIS good in almost 20 years.. when I was a kid and I had NO kind of taste buds whatsoever and gut made of surgical grade steel. But I LOVE going to this location for lunch. If you are in their "club," Checkers sends you coupons and specials about once a week or so. Sometimes it's for free fries, or a free Big Buford or other burger. But even when it's not, for $2 get TWO REAL BURGERS that TASTE GOOD and have the fixings. Lettuce, Tomato, Onions, Pickles, and cheese. The staff during lunch is really chill too and seem to always be in a good mood. I wish there was one in West Ashley... Definitely a Lunchtime find! I had a bad experience at a Checkers a long time ago, so I was hesitant to come here to the newest Checkers at the corner of Yeamans Hall and Remount Rd. But I have been several times now, and yes, I'm a fan. The employees are super nice and fast! The food is great ( for fast food, you understand). I love the fries! They are crispy and coated in some type of batter? with what looks like cracked pepper. I can eat them without ketchup ( and do )! And it's inexpensive! NOONE was behind me in line but the lady on the other end of the speaker kept asking me what I wanted to order. Chili dog -- too much chili -- I couldn't pick it up because when I tried the bun fell apart. Ate with a fork and knife but I've had better chili dogs. Discovered this Checkers Drive In by accident today by going straight across the Remount River intersection from the Charleston Animal Society in lieu of turning left onto Rivers. It is right before the Yeamans Hall intersection across from Walgreens on the left. They said they opened early Dec. Always loved a Checker burger & seasoned fries, but locations were not convenient and they closed the one W. Ashley. They have improved..not as greasy..pure delicious comfort food as I call a good cheeseburger. I think the burger I had today ties with Wendys, and Wendys has always been my fav burger joint. I was offered a large cup of tea for $1. Friendly girl at the drive thru..she told me if I went online to take a survey I get a free Champ burger for free. My wife and I recently moved to the North Charleston area, and neither of us had seen or heard of a Checkers. Recently I decided to stop in and give this location a try because of its convenience for me on my way home from work. I ordered the Bacon Roadhouse burger, and while the picture is slightly deceiving in relation to the size of the burger, it was absolutely delicious. The staff at this location is just as great as the food. Every time they seem happy to help and be there. I have since returned to the location not once, but twice in the last 2 weeks. Each time trying something new. I have no complaints other than the parking lot. It is a little hard to maneuver, but I can definitely overlook that. Definitely recommend the Remount Rd location here in Charleston, SC. read more
