The long line. There's a line in the second lane as well.

I'm currently sitting in line for an hour for a simple Big Beaufort combo. There is a line of angry customers. No one is telling us what is happening. This was an awful experience and is a common occurrence at this location. It's a shame that basic communication is an issue in letting us know of the delay. I now remember why I travel the extra distance to the Dorchester road location, because what is this?

    Whole facility looked trashed.

I wasn't going to review this, but since ive been waiting (trapped in) the drive thru for over 15mins, only 3 cars back, I might as well. Lets see... Only 1 lane open, but no sign to tell you so and the girl working the window could not figure out a simple 2 combo order. When we finally got to the pick up window, the girl's first words were: "So, what did you order?" Needless to say, after some laughs and some explinations we got our food. Was it good? No. But I don't know what expecting really. Glad you can't go inside really since the whole place looked dirty.

Cooks messed up order on purpose then, refused to remake it. They offered us a side of what we ordered on our sandwiches. They seemed irritated that we didn't want just regular cheeseburgers, and did not seem to care that our food was not correct. It's not always like this it depends on the employees working .

This Checkers location on Remount Road is a well managed Checkers that is a reliable stop for all things sandwiches, fries, and much more when you are hungry and need something fast. It is easy to get in and out with exactly what you need for a good value. I have had a positive experience every time I have been here.

The Smashburger was unlike any I'd had before as were the Hashbrowns. The others enjoyed their Gluten Free selections that were prepared in a separate fryer, which is so important for Gluten Free & Celiac sufferers. Their choices were Bacon egg n cheese biscuit, Fried Chicken (some of the BEST EVER) biscuit, Corn Dog and Waffle Fried Hashbrowns. This little place is a hit with the college students along with others enjoying downtown Charleston. Parking is available directly behind this place if your not lucky enough to find street parking.

We ordered a deluxe burger and a crust burger with curly fries. Both burgers were super good and juicy, and served piping hot and came out quick! The curly fries were a good choice too. The meat is well seasoned and they don't skimp you on the toppings. The service was really friendly also. The menus didn't offer an explanation of what everything was, so I had to ask. They have lots of sauces to choose from for your burger, so that's fun. I also think it's slightly pricey for getting just a burger with no fries, but maybe that's just me. I'll be back though, it was delicious!

If you're getting food, definitely try the blistered green beans, poutine, and the farmer's salad (which is like a Cobb salad/bowl, it's amazing) *but* my all-time fave is the fried chicken sandwich - it's honestly one of the best l've ever had in Charleston. Also, this place is huge so they were able to accommodate my friend's post-wedding party (about 20 people) at the last minute and we had a blast. Everywhere else we tried to go either didn't have the space for us or were closing so it totally made our night! We just made sure to call ahead to check and they were more than happy to have us - the bride was happy so you know it was good :) Bottom line, the Peacock is a local gem hidden in plain sight on East Bay and, as a local, it's become one of my top go-to's in Charleston. You can't beat the prices (seriously), ambience, quality, and awesome staff. They also have live music every week so they know how to keep it classy and lively at the same time. I highly recommend checking it out!

The staff went above and beyond, and the entire evening went off without a hitch. The bartenders were fantastic -- attentive, friendly, and made sure everyone's glasses were never empty (water included!). We also ordered one of our favorite dishes, the Farmer's Salad with Chicken, and it was absolutely delicious -- so good, in fact, that we dove right in and forgot to take a photo first! The food at the surrounding tables looked equally incredible; I'd especially recommend the cheese plate and the tuna. As a bonus, there's a nightclub on the second floor that gets lively on weekends, so the fun doesn't have to stop after dinner. If you haven't been to The Peacock yet, do yourself a favor and stop by -- great food, great drinks, and a wonderful atmosphere. We'll definitely be back!

The hostess was extremely sweet and surprised me with some ice cold water while sitting on the porch because I didn't think about putting sunscreen on earlier that day at the beach.... Oops! We got a half order of the crab which was honestly hard to eat. They crack the shells for you but maybe a little too much in ours. There were tiny shells all in it! For dinner my husband got the trout fish of the day. He normally isn't a big fish guy but absolutely loved it and had great flavor. I had the pork chop which was just falling off the bone. It was very tender meat and was a huge portion! We had an endless amounts of espresso martinis (which was the best I had in Charleston) and old fashion.

We ordered the cornbread, which I had high hopes for; it was decently flavored but a bit on the dry side. The deviled eggs were delicious, though they were slightly too spicy for our liking. We finished them anyway. For dessert, we opted for the chocolate mint grasshopper dessert, which was absolutely phenomenal. Ordering drinks was a bit more challenging. Although they carry Licor 43, I was told they don't offer the Carajillo since they don't have coffee on-site. I found this strange because they did make an espresso martini for me. The waiter explained that they don't have the machine on-site but source nitro coffee from an alternative supplier. Overall, we were excited to try this restaurant due to all the positive reviews, but we found it a bit underwhelming, to be fair. We only sampled a few items.

Everyone just fits in, no matter if you're the black sheep! Seating is a little limited, but worth the wait. I guess the first person I ran into was a manager, he introduced himself, (legit, "Hi my name is Bryan" and shook my hand!) (Post Script, the handshake is pervasive here, literally both bartenders were introduced to me and both came up and shook my hand.) I had checked this place out from other Yelp reviews and already knew I wanted the Fish and Chips, so after my beer order, I was shocked and awed that without asking, he brought the Malt Vinegar! You know it's gonna be the bomb already! The fish arrived very quickly! Bruh...this fish was legit. A large solo iceberg of fried perfection crested upon a wave of fresh made "chips " and they were clearly fresh made, not the frozen variety. The beer batter on this fish was so good I was in heaven. I thought it might be heavy and greasy, and yet somehow it held only flavor, crunch, and absorbed my Malt Vinegar to perfection. This place is packed with regulars and it clearly seems to attract other service industries personnel. All good signs of a good time! This may have been my first visit, but won't be my last!
