Always small and a little run down, one lone plastic folding table to sit at. Nice young lady at the counter, she was helpful. Checkers always feel like something out of a cyberpunk restaurant in fifty years. Just two small windows, very minimalistic. The place was dirty. DISGUSTING if I dare.... I saw a cockroach riding a rat. Food cold af. And very VERY BAD. I saw the manager smoking in the back, I shouldn't be able to see that while I am in the FRONT ordering. The employees they were alright and service was okay, they must have been VERY underpayed. I saw a vape on the floor so not only is that showing what kind of costumers they have but it shows how many health code violations they have. Ordered a late night snack off doordash. We had chicken tenders, a Buford burger, French fries and a strawberry milkshake. The French fries could have had more seasoning, I was a little disappointed after reading the online description and they were so mild. The strawberry milkshake was delicious. We got hot fudge, but it was just on top and not mixed pun so we would probably not add that on next time. Chicken and burger were fine. read more

I used to eat Checkers all the time growing up and was surprised to find them in New York. As with all the other checkers I've seen, this one didn't have any seating area so you really gotta do drive through or run in to grab food. They had this two for $5 deal so I managed to get a spicy chicken sandwich (my friend got a fish sandwich). The sandwich is pretty good but not really spicy. It kind of reminds me of a more robust McChicken sandwich. I asked for more mayo and thought it tasted great. read more

Hi Checker's it's me again ,your old friend JIM D. I've been coming now to this Westbury Checkers for a few years now. The folks here know me and are absolutely wonderful. Previous managers that have been unprofessional have been replaced with smiling helpful folks. I am confident that I can come here and my special orders will be made exactly the way I want them. I love the late-night hours and the double drive-ins. The Baconzilla and Baconzilla Roadhouse or some of my favorite beef sandwiches here. On Friday's, there are mozzarella stick sandwiches and a selection of different crunchy fish selections to please all. The drive-through folks always stick nice coupons in my bag so when they're not running specials I still get discounts. I love it. I was touched when recently one of the main managers reached out to me. Unfortunately one evening there was had a problem here, the manager wanted to know if my DASH cam captured any of the event. Unfortunately I only have it switched on when I am on the job and in areas that are of my jurisdiction. But I was pleased by his request and told him moving forward anything I could ever do to help, was my pleasure. I will be continuing to visit This Checkers and I Recommend it HIGHLY. I LOVE CHECKERS!!! how can something so good be so bad for you??? i think we would all agree....starting off with the food: the "loaded" french fries are so good! Seasoned fries topped with ranch, cheese and bacon. its also somewhat of a large portion, me and my honey always share one order. they also have "baconzilla" fries with cheese and extra bacon, haven't tried those, but you can bet i will. oh yes and i don't want to forget to mention they have chili cheese fries, I'm not into the chili thing but these look really good and i know lots of people are into that. I personally always get some type of chicken sandwich on there awsum slice bread. Its always so good! I'm not a beef kinda gal but every once in a while i get the bacon roadhouse, bbq sauce, onion rings, cheese and bacon....YUM! My honey goes with the roadhouse also. they also have shake, dessert and wings, but i never have room for any of that stuff. my honey wants to make sure i say, we only visit once every few months because its greasy and unhealthy. If your looking for anything remotely healthy, keep it moving onto the next spot. service is always great here, fast and accurate!. they have no seating inside and like two picnic tables outside. this is a drive thru kind of place. they always have a 2 for 5 special. read more

I don't eat fast food much at all, but I've always wanted to try Checkers when I pass them. While in the area, and nothing really else around, my friend and I drove into this location (it is only drive through or walk-in with about 4 stools). I ordered a number one, which had some name that has escaped me, however, I was less concerned about the name, and more concerned with the taste. The burger was actually pretty good. The lettuce and tomato seemed to be dry, but it's fast food, not so much gourmet. The fries were delicious and unlike most places, the order was not screwed up. Quick service and short lines. In conclusion, skip McDonalds and head to Checkers. There is plenty of parking and two drive through lanes. read more

I go to the drive-thru whenever coming here and today I had to repeat my order 3-4 times. I don't know what does it for me, but every time I come here, this place is bliss. Granted this is fast food, it's not exactly the healthiest, but it blows all the competition out of the water. The only other possible competition would have to be White Castle, but Checkers trumps McDonald's, Burger King, Wendy's.. I can go on and on. I'm baaaaack... updating my previous review. Stars remain unchanged at 3. The chicken hasn't gotten any better since my last visit, so to address the comment in my previous review. No, I did not catch them on a bad day. I actually only stopped in because the place was literally right in front of my face and I was running out of time for lunch so needed to grab something and head back to work quick, and that it was.... quick. Anyway, I mainly wanted to say that the milk shakes are damn thick here. It's pretty much just ice cream in a cup with a straw. If you plan on getting a milkshake here be sure to ask for a spoon instead. It will spare you all of the awkward looks as you make that fish face trying to suck this shake out of a straw. The awesome part about it being so thick though is it wont melt by the time you get to your destination if you are taking a to go order. Obviously I got a milkshake, but I also go the chicken bites, some value fries, and a BLT with cheese. Knowing that I ordered both chicken bites and fries you would think that there was some kind of sauce in my bag right? Nope, not even a single measly packet of ketchup. I don't think the value fries are actually worth it. They give you about the same amount of other fast food places ie: Mc Donald's size small in a paper packet only other fast food restaurants only charge a dollar for it. They do give you a good amount of chicken for the order of chicken bites even if the chicken itself ain't so great. The BLT however was yummy and I got a decent looking tomato inside of it this time, finally! I feel like I've won the lottery. Sidenote, if you aren't a fan of mayo ask them to hold it. I enjoy coming to checkers because they have the best fries compared to the other fast food restaurants but this time my fries was just cold and stale. The bacon burger I got had weird tasting sauce that was alright but did make me feel nauseous afterwards. I just had a 5 star experience at this checkers. Was starving with my girlfriend deciding what to eat and went to checkers not expecting much. We pulled up to their cool double drive-thru and I ate a bacon cheese checker burger and a spicy chicken deluxe. They were both delicious and satisfying especially considering they were two for 5$. The drive-thru young lady was very nice and accommodating, appreciated the service. Their two for 1$ apple pie was a decadent dessert. Will definitely be coming back. read more

Sux to reach over the passanger side to get the food. Dont go thru the passanger drive thru if you are by your self even if the line is shorter. It sound like a good idea. Was in the area after a visit at the Holy Rood cemetery and was looking for a quick bite on our way back to our hotel... stopped at Checkers and we were not disappointed! The food was great and they were willing to let us back up after we realized we were missing food on our order... the drive-thru on both sides was a cool feature, glad I had a passenger though! The milkshakes were extra thick, but it worked out as we had a drive to get back to our hotel and by the time we got there we were able to drink them! STOLE MY DEBIT CARD INFO??? June 18th, 2013 I went here for lunch today. They had to unlock the window to take my order. I paid with my debit card. They locked it back up when my order was placed. To pick up my food they unlocked the widow, gave me my food and locked it again. The last time I used my card was on amazon a week ago. I have NEVER experienced this "locking of the windows" before I then received a call a couple hours later stating my debit card was used and denied at a Target in the Bronx, NY for $170 dollars. it's really surprising that a drive thru fast food joint would have better chicken than a stand alone restaurant, but Checkers has beat the odds. The worst checkers I've ever been to, the chicken sandwich taste like it was cooked in 3 week dirty oil, (terrible after taste) the loaded fries were prepared long before I ordered it the fries were un-eatible.
