It's been about 4 years since I've been to The Burger Spot, but the food and service is still as great as I remember it to be. I used the ordering service through their website and put in my order for pickup. I walked into The Burger Spot and went to the cashier. My order was behind the counter and ready for pickup. My go to speciality burger is Swiss ($15.95). Swiss comes with swiss, mushrooms, and caramelized onions. Burgers are served with fries. The burger was juicy and just the way I remember it to be. The fries are very crispy and the white sauce it comes with is very good. My husband ordered one of the specials, the Tamarind Cilantro Chicken Sandwich ($16.54). This sandwich is grilled chicken with pepper jack cheese, avocado, arugula, topped with homemade Tamarind cilantro salsa on ciabatta. The sandwich was also served with a side of fries, but you can substitute it for others like he chose 1/2 Sweet Potato / 1/2 Onion Rings for $2.07 more. There were only a few onion rings, but they are big. The sandwich was packed with flavors. The Burger Spot is the spot for burgers and fries. I was very disappointed with The Burger Spot. It's very rare that I should give less than a four star review but the standard for tasty burgers is now Shake Shack or even Five Guys or Smashburger. This place is a rip off!!! I love to eat a good veggie burger that is different from the typical burger joints. First of all customer service is horrible looks like they got bunch of college kids that have an attitude. The girl who assisted me literally had no clue about the menu and I asked for American cheese and she said "we have no peas" got to be kidding me. I tried this impossible burger w/fries for $13 and added American cheese for extra $1.50 and with tax paid $16.29. The impossible burger is actually impossible because I never expected it to be worthless!! When you hear the name trust me I expected it to be different than other veggie burgers but nope it's a patty, lettuce and onions for $13. This really upsets me as it's a rip off!! I came here with my family one weekend earlier last month. We were supposed to meet up with my niece to celebrate her birthday in the area but plans were delayed so we took the ride down and killed time with lunch at TBS. The reviews looked promising. I love this little walkable area in town. Our rendezvous was only a five minute drive away. We found 60 minute parking nearby since we would not be long. They have indoor and outdoor seating. They were pretty busy but we must have kicked out with a table because someone likely had just finished eating. We ordered at the counter but had to wait for someone to wipe the table and remove the garbage that was left so that we could sit. That was the one thing that was kind of annoying. We had to ask them to clean the table. It was obviously empty for some time before we walked in and there are two people at the cashier, plus others in the kitchen. You can tell they have pretty good turnaround when it comes to their tables. It should be customary that as soon as a table is left, that they wipe it down for the next customer. They have a clear view of the dining area and it's not that big which is why that should be a priority. If the place was packed with more people entering, we would have had to stake claim to the dirty table and wait there until someone came to clean it. If it was warmer, we would have just eaten outside, but the weather is up and down and this particular day was very chilly out. In any case, the staff was very patient when it came to our ordering. I'm happy we arrived during a lull because we had not idea what we wanted to order. The menu is good. It's simple but had plenty of options for all. Grub Rundown: Argentinian Burger - I wanted this with bison which would have been a $2.75 up charge but they only had one bison patty left so I let my son get it. This burger is normally beef, on a really nice bun with chimichurri sauce (not enough of a shmear IMO), red onion and pepperjack. I loved the flavor but again, definitely could have used a heftier helping of chimichurri. Mexican Burger - my son got this burger with the bison patty ($2.75 upcharge). It's on a bun with pepperjack, guac, salsa and sour cream. He like it a lot. Sicilian Sando - hubby ordered this sandwich. It's a chicken breast sandwich on ciabatta with mozz, tomato, arugula, cilantro and pesto sauce. He like is very much was well. Kid's Hot Dog - my kiddo had the kiddie hotdog with fries and a drink. We made it a meal for $3 extra. She like it but the hotdog bun was definitely stale. She didn't even eat the bread. Fries - all of our meals came with fries which were fried really well. They must be double-fried because they're super crispy on the outside but soft inside. All of their fries are served with ranch dipping sauce. I'm kicking myself for not getting at least one order of onion rings which come with a chipotle sauce. Milkshake - my son got the vanilla milkshake and it was soooo good! Super thick and perfect for dipping their fries. Everything was really good and it was a perfect small meal to hold us over while we went to mini-golf in the area and then visited with the rest of the fam later that night. The other thing that bothered me is that when we initially put in our order, the staff must not have known that they were running out of bison patties so both my and my son's meal had the up charge for the bison patty initially. When they told us that they only had one bison patty, they never offered to correct the bill and return the up charge. We had to give them the receipt to inform them the. They took care of it but it's just one of those things that they should be keeping track of so people aren't charged for items they never received. Not a bad burger, but just nothing exceptional for the price point. The quality of the ingredients were good, but the burgers lacked refinement and flavor. The only saving grace to the meal were the onion rings and fries, which were done very well (flavorful, perfect crunch, fresh, and a decent portion as a side). We ordered an Athenian and a Parisian burger tonight. The Athenian came with red onions, lettuce, tomato, cucumber, feta, and some herb + olive oil. The red onions were so thick that it overpowered both the feta and the bits of oregano (the herb) of the dressing, and no matter how good the quality of the patty is, all you tasted was onion. The patty itself is also unseasoned. We're talking zero salt, and for $15 and change I would prefer to not have to season my own food. The Parisian came with bacon, cheddar, and a sunny side up egg. The egg was done nicely - perfectly runny, but against the flavorless burger patty, the richness of the yolk is just lost. One would think the cheddar and bacon would help boost in some salt, but against the thick brioche there was just not enough salt to bring out any of the flavors. Bottom line... is it better than Shake Shack? Yes, for quality alone it is better but at the end of the day, there's simply better options for burger at that price point. read more

The Argentinian is my go to burger, occasionally without the red onion if I have a meeting after lunch. I do a mix of ordering takeout and sitting down with friends. The food comes out quickly either way and the staff is always nice. It's pretty decently sized for 7th street but sitting outside is my favorite. There is the perfect amount of shade outside so that you're not sitting in the hot sun in the summer. The burger does come with fries and there's no need to worry about sad soggy fries, they're always crispy. My office is about 5ish minutes away and the fries are still crisp when I get back to my desk. With all these great reviews, it had to be good, so we gave it a shot. Decently priced, a little much for it being essentially fast food, but we were hungry and we were in the mood for burgers. I had the shroom burger and it was just good. The flavor was good, but as a whole it was just a decent burger. There was one tiny slice of swiss cheese that was barely melted and barely enough for me to even know there was cheese on the burger. The mushrooms were alright and the burger was cooked a little more than medium rare. It was a pretty dry burger for something that had as many toppings as it did. The saving grace were the french fries. Crispy and crunchy just how I like it and a fairly good portion. Overall, the meal was alright. Not the best, not close to the worst. Good enough to keep us full, semi satisfy our craving and didn't leave us feeling like it was waste of money. I love the burger spot. They're not only good for burgers, but they also have delicious milkshakes, salads, choco chip cookies, and soups! Their special burgers are themed to different ethnic groups and are oh so yummy! I wish they would have vegan cheese as a matching option so dairy-free people could get the same experience! I used to be a cheese monger, but after switching over to the dairy-free side of things, I now know how hard it is not to cheat when getting a burger from them. Unfortunately, I get side affects from having dairy, so my belly was aching post meal. :( I have never had a bad burger from them. The meat was always fresh. They also have vegetarian burger options. The bello burger is made with a portabello mushroom. The veggie burger... well, that's self explanatory. Their french fries are all right and the same goes for their onion rings and sweet potato fries. They're usually tasty when they first come out but as they cool, they're kind of gross and too greasy. They have immaculate salads! I don't recall the names of all of them, but the quinoa kale is awesome and the Mexican version is groovy too! They have good soups like chicken noodle, vegan cream of broccoli, carrot ginger, minestrone, etc. The soups are chosen daily, so you never know what they'll offer next! If you're seriously craving sweet try one of their milkshakes or chocolate chip cookies. You'll be in heaven for as long as you can savor their flavors! The atmosphere is spunky and cozy. Upon entering from 7th Street, there's high tables to one's left and booth+chair seating to ones right. There isn't a whole lot of capacity, so it's best if when one party or person is done eating, they don't linger too much and allow the next guest(s) to have a seat. If the place isn't super busy, then I think a little extra lingering is okay. After ordering, you get a number and when your order is done, they'll call out your number and bring it to wherever you're seated. If the weather is nice, they have outside seating available as well. The Burger Spot is cool. Like most of the boutique burger restaurants it has a fairly young staff and a relaxed vibe. I stopped in with my wife and my sons for lunch. My 16 year old and I tried the bacon cheeseburger with fries. The 11 year old had his standard cheese burger (plain) without condiments of any kind. He gets that kind of thinking from his mother. Anyway, my wife wasn't very hungry so she just shared all of our fries. (No comment) The place isn't very big so there is limited seating. We arrived just before a group of college students showed up and had to position ourselves for the first available table. You shouldn't have to mad dash for seating. The food was pretty good.
