Went for dinner with the family and had a nice dinner. Service and food were good. Restaurant was nicely decorated. Only one hiccup was there was a problem with one of the orders and it didn't come out until after everyone else had eaten. We just got it to go and they comp that meal. The honey butter croissants are amazing

    Great menu!

This place was just great! The food is amazing and the people are super nice, and it's really clean and peaceful! Warning: if you get buffalo sauce with your meal, get the sauce on the side the buffalo sauce is super spicy The music isn't overly loud, and it's very welcoming. They have a pretty fish tank as well! They also have their own home made ranch. Definitely recommend this place!

We were greeted and seated right away. Didn't take long for the server (Katherine A) to come for drink orders. The drinks and started bread came right away, the bread is delicious!! The artichoke dip was nice and creamy with great flavor. Queso dip was great, with good consistency and flavor. This is the first monte Cristo sandwhich I have ever had, and oh yum was it good. Our server was very friendly, helpful, and fast. The booths are high enough they give you a bit of privacy.

Background - I've been in town for over a week - eating nothing but fried food and sandwiches thanks to my parent's kitchen being somewhat out of commission. I was seriously feening for some grilled salmon and steamed veggies and after calling around to several local seafood spots to discover they didn't offer salmon, decided to give Cheddar's a try. (I'm not sure how - but I somehow managed to completely forget that Longhorn's is still in business and they sell the exact meal I was looking for - lol.) Exterior - LOTS of disabled person parking. Entire front side of building is handicapped parking. Not a criticism or a complaint - just an observation. Interior - I was here years ago for a birthday celebration. The floors are still sticky. They explained why the were like this when we were here before but can't remember the explanation. Other than the weird floors, space seems clean. I get that it's summer, but they keep it SUPER cold inside. If I'd had a duster or cardigan in my trunk, I would honestly have gone back outside to snag it. Food I ordered blackened salmon with a baked potato as my side. (They didn't have a steamed vegetable medley.) I also added a salad with extra tomatoes. My salad was surprisingly good. It was definitely elevated by what appeared to be homemade croutons. Just a note - for your starter, they have croissants drizzled with streusel instead of rolls or loaves. The salmon portion is available in 13 or 15 oz . I went with 15 oz offering because I wanted to have serious leftovers. When entree arrived, salmon appeared a little undercooked. There was very little rice and that was fine because I didn't want much - mainly wanted it for texture with the steamed vegetables and since the vegetables weren't an option it was fine. Besides - a potato and rice ... starch city! One bite confirmed that it was a bit undercooked so I had everything boxed up and I put in the oven later (wrapped in foil) and I genuinely enjoyed it. Customer Service Chelsea (sp?) was my server. She was good - a little subdued but not rude or anything. She did do the thing where she carried my cup by the rim instead of holding the bottom third of the glass / cup. And the hostesses seemed a little out of it - but overall the customer service was fine. I enjoyed the convenience of being able to pay a the table using the little kiosk.

With the mixed reviews, we knew were were in for a great meal or a bad one, we were not expecting anything in between. It clearly leaned toward the later. The cleanliness of the dishes were hit in miss. You could pick up a plate or fork and it would have dried food on and so you go get another. The restaurant itself is very large and looks really nice. We were very happy with the service provided to us. The best thing on the menu was the fried pork chop, fried chicken, and mashed potatoes. OK as long as she's had plenty of sauce, but I didn't see the fried ribs they were talking about that I was looking forward to trying. The fried shrimp was popcorn shrimp and wasn't great and they didn't offer fish this night or at least we didn't see it. Most if not all the vegetables were cold and had little flavor. The worst dish by far was the fried Okra. One bite and I was done From the dessert bar I enjoyed the banana pudding and had two helpings. The wife thought the pecan pie was pretty good. She absolutely hated the lemon meringue pie which was grainy in texture an overly sweet. And both of us thought the coconut cream pie was not good at all. Again if you're a big eater and you like quantity and lots of options, this place is perfect for you but for us it's not a good deal.

Because the restaurant is downtown there is plenty of free street parking spaces right outside the door. There is a bar, with bar seating, The other seating consisted of normal table with hard back chairs, and couches that ran down the side of the wall with tables, and hard back chairs on the other side. Overall, the service was adequate, not good, and certainly not great, but good enough not to stop us from enjoying our night out. I started with what was supposed to be a cup of Tomato Bisque but received and paid for a bowl. Somewhat my fault for not realizing that my serving and what I paid for was large and more expensive than the cup I ordered. With that said, I thought the flavor of the bisque served with, Garlic Buttered Crostini, and grated Smoked Gouda was outstanding. The temperature could have been a bit warmer, but again the flavor was sport on. The wife and I split a very large bowl of PEI Mussels. The Mussels were served in a white wine broth with Shallots, Garlic, Roasted Tomatoes, and Bacon. Honestly, I could and did finish the broth off as a soup. There were quite a few Mussels that did not open, but the bowl was so large, we wouldn't have eaten them anyway. The wife's main dish was the Pan Seared Sea Scallops, with peach and bacon risotto, and fresh Spinach. The dish was finished with an amazing Bourbon Peach Brown Butter Reduction. The scallops were large, the Risotto was great, but the brown butter reduction was the absolute star of the dish. For my main dish I had the Curried Lamb Lollipops, served over Cilantro Basmati Rice, and roasted Tomatoes with an excellent curry sauce. The chops were of good size and cooked to perfection. And please don't even get me started on the fired Garlic Butter Paratha which is some of the best bread I have ever had. My mistake was ordering a side of the Peach and Bacon Risotto similar to what was served with the scallop dish. Without the Bourbon Peach Brown Butter Reduction however, the risotto ate a little dry and had little to no peach flavor. I finished my meal with a bourbon , Mascarpone, bread pudding, which was amazing. The dish was loaded with bourbon which both my wife and I agreed was not completely cooked off. Great dish to finish an outstanding meal. Even with a few minor missteps, the overall flavor of the dishes were so good, I still must give it an overall 5.

The owner is very friendly but the Pho is unfortunately the worst I've ever had (I've had pho more times than I count across more than 7 different states) and our experience, aside from our interaction with the owner, was subpar. To start, the restaurant itself is very hot, no AC, just fans. The walls and tables were dirty and greasy. Looks like a hole in the wall place, which gave me hope that the pho would taste authentic but I was severely mistaken. Also, because of the no AC they had the doors open which led to flies landing on our food and water as well as being splashed by the pouring rain coming into the restaurant. Our waitress did not pay much attention to us and when asking her the difference between some of the pho options she said "I don't know because there's nothing on the menu that I like" LOL she also complained that the owner was "cheap" when explaining that they don't have an ice machine and she would have to crush up ice in a towel using a hammer. Anyway, my husband and I were willing to overlook all of this if the Pho was worth it. We both got the Pho Bo (beef noodle soup) and he got his spicy. If you've never had authentic pho, you might like it. However, if you've have good Pho before, you will most likely not enjoy this. It was the blandest greasiest broth I had ever had. It didn't even taste like pho. At all the pho restaurants I've ever been to, they provide extra garnishes like lime, jalapeño, bean sprouts etc. We did not get anything other than the limes I asked for my water because they didn't have lemon. They didn't even give us spoons for the broth, I had to ask for them. Both my husband and I ate less than half of our small bowls before we decided to just leave. It's a shame because the owner is incredibly friendly but we will not be returning.
