It has been over 2 years since I went out to dinner where there were a good amount of people around. The restaurant was pretty busy so we ended up sitting in the bar. We ordered fabulous "painkiller's " a huge and affordable Rum trick with a coconut and sugar rim. So delicious and once you stir it up really good it taste good. We ordered grilled chicken pasta and chicken fried streak. Everything was so amazing and seasoned perfectly. Our waiter was also a bartender and he was so on top of everything. Six of us in the Lunch Bunch group ate here today. We ordered everything from a ribeye steak to a bowl of baked potato soup. Because I haven't seen this on a menu in a long time, I ordered the Monte Cristo sandwich, which came a side of raspberry preserves. Very good! For my side, I chose the broccoli cheddar casserole, which was delicious. Others ordered the shrimp platter, which came with two sides, a cheeseburger, and the salmon dish. Everyone commented that they liked what they ordered. The side salads were good size and good combo of veggies. Popped in for a gift card for the holidays. They were out but the waiter advised of other ways to still shop for one. It was very busy. The bar was open seating. There was one bartender Christopher who was working hard to accommodate and acknowledge everyone. One couple had an issue with him because he forgot their ice tea. The couple had a few opportunities to ask for it, but they decided to interrupt when he was taking our order. Christopher handled it well. Never again!!! I have never had a worse experience at a restaurant than this. They weren't busy and just gave us a difficult time because we asked for a table to accommodate my wife's wheelchair. I can't believe they made such a big deal and told us we would have to wait for someone who works the table area to arrive before they could seat us. I explained we cannot use a booth because of the wheelchair. Instead of accommodating someone with a disability, they made it clear how much of an inconvenience it would be for them. They were happy to seat people that came after us while we waited. But the last visit my 2 year old son had an allergic reaction to something he ate, itchy red all around his mouth with welches, so naturally I just asked the waitress for the ingredients because I knew the doctor would ask. Needed a change up for lunch and like all other places they have spaced out the seating to comply with all COVID restrictions. Came in after the normal rush crowd and greeted with a pretty empty location. The staff was friendly and helped one another throughout the visit which is something you like to see (#TEAMWORK). Typically I'm in the bar, but this time just the dining room. The menu is limited so 2 of the things I was craving for weren't on the menu. Instead, we went with the Chicken Pot Pie, Grilled Buffalo Wrap, and the Maple Bacon Chicken sandwich (all with fries... that were really good). Best part for me was the Mango Iced Tea... I was craving a bit of sweetness and it hit the spot. The Pot Pie got high marks from the family but not my thing. Similar to other restaurants in the same category (Cheesecake, etc...) the kitchen is from scratch but doesn't deviate much when it comes to seasoning and flavor. When looking at Cheddar's from the outside, it looks like a nice middle class chain that serves up comfort food with consistent flavor. The interior is also inviting with large fish tanks which are nice to look at between conversation, or on an awkward date. The tragedy started when we sat on the booths. The booths were old and tattered, if my partner adjusted his seat, the booth would slide forward. I was wearing shorts and the cracking upholstery itched at my skin. The menu was extremely basic and I had a hard time finding something I could eat. The server looked like she hated her job. She touched our table three times: 1) take order 2) serve the food 3) give us the check. No refills on our drinks even though they appeared to be slow. My partner ordered a burger, which was just okay, but boy were the fries atrocious. They tasted like the were fried in old oil, forgotten until they got cold, and then microwaved. I ordered the fried shrimp, chicken strips, and fries. Again the fries were inedible. The chicken was tender, but the breading on both the chicken and shrimp were over seasoned. I had green beans and cold slaw while my husband had slaw and fries. The only problem is that there isn't a Cheddar's in Casa Grande, where we live. My mom was raving about this place and was excited to show it to us so we went. Yall. I've never taken a smoke break waiting for dinner. It took 90 minutes to get our food and when we did it was cold or Luke warm. Before then my husband had to wait for a hour because they brought out a sweet tea instead of peach. Cheddar's was extremely busy as usual on a Saturday night. There was about a 45 minute wait for a table, but it is always worth the wait. Noah was our server and he was absolutely top notch. I was very disappointed that I couldn't have my favorite frozen drink the Strawberry Texas Swirl, as no frozen drinks of any kind were available. The flyer should not have even been offered with that being the case. I substituted with a glass of Moscato that was very satisfying. My two favorite dishes here are the Lemon Pepper Chicken and the Vegetable Plate. I ordered the later. The salad is very generous, as is the dressing, and the toppings are fresh and tasty. I add the fully loaded baked potato, off the cob buttered corn, and seasoned rice. The mac and cheese hasn't been offered since COVID hit, so I substitute with another option, this time, steamed broccoli. I love the generous portions served! I chose to fill myself on the salad first and usually eat about half of the sides, taking home the leftovers for lunch another day. My husband ordered the Chicken Pot Pie and was silent most of the meal, devouring a good portion of it along the way. We were both very well satisfied and left will full bellies. Classic American food at this restaurant. Basically everything that came out to the table was... brown. The service was great! Our waiter was very attentive and brought us anything that we needed. This is my second time here. The first was for a birthday party many ages ago. My wife and I were seated in a decent amount of time for a busy Friday night. The staff was very friendly and our server checked in often. I have to say, I gave it the 4th star because our server was say super-hustler. In all honesty, all the staff was hustling. The top sirloin was seasoned really well. I wish I knew their seasoning mix so I could use it at home. My wife got two huge filets of white fish. She said it was so perfectly cooked that she barely had to touch it with her fork and it fell apart. The drinks, though! I ordered the Cheddar's Painkiller because other Yelpers said it was good. we went here last night as we just moved into the area and we were interested by this place! we went on new year's eve night and there was a fair amount of people there! it did take awhile for us to be greeted when we sat down but the ambiance was nice. we started with the cheese bits which were good, but a little greasy! then my boyfriend ordered the lemon chicken which had yummy brown sugar glazed carrots and broccoli. the chicken was done perfectly however not seasoned well. i ordered the fried buttermilk chicken sandwich which was also done nicely but didn't have a whole lot of flavor. service was good too. this place is a maybe for the future - there's just better places we have been to with the same prices. but overall, we had a good experience! read more

if I could give this restaurant zero stars I would I had went to go eat dinner with a group of friends today December 7, 2024 The hostess had told me that the wait for a table was going to be only five minutes due to we had made reservations prior We ended up waiting 25 minutes for a table which I understand they were busy they had sat us outside in the way back, which was fine however, the waitress Quinn C did take our drinks order however she did not bring them out in a timely matter over 20 minutes had went by I had to go into the restaurant and asked the hostess for some drinks because we were thirsty after the waitress Quinn c had came and took our orders however she did forget to bring me two breads which I was going to pay for all she did was apologize Also my friend ordered a stack of ribs. She did not bring that out either the wait for the food was over an hour and a half we were at this restaurant for 2 1/2 hours. This was the one of the worst experience that I had in a restaurant. If I could I would have left 0 stars. We got there and were asked how many people we said 3 and they said 5-10 min wait which was no big deal and then parties that were larger than ours came in and were seated right away . Then a manager came up to us and told us they are clearing tables and as soon as they had one ready we would be seated . Just another 5-10 min then more people came in and got seated so finally we asked what is going on and they said we don't have any tables and I said then where are you seating all these other people and they said at booths ... and I said ok why haven't we been seated at a booth and they said we thought you wanted a table .. at no time did we specify a table or booth we were just asked how many in our party . Then we got appetizers but no plates when we asked for plates they said they are being washed and will be out shortly .... Never came then the ribs we ordered were over cooked heck even the bones cracked when I tried to pull them apart we talked to the manager he seemed harassed and in a hurry . The only good part of the entire experience was our server . He was a very nice young man . This was the worst food dining experience I have ever had with my family. We walked in and waited over 10 minutes up front with two other parties, when the restaurant was half way empty, strike one. When we finally got called to get a table they said the name wrong and after we corrected them they continued to say the incorrect name, strike two. When we got to the table we sat there for another ten minutes without even ordering a drink or supplied with water. An hour later, after waiting for everyone's food for a party of 6, everyone but 1 person had something wrong. Person one had an undercooked steak, they took it back and recooked the same steak and burnt it when it was supposed to be medium well, on top of that he ordered a baked potato without sour cream, it was filled with sour cream. Person two had ordered a side of rice and beans and didn't bring it out until reminded about it. Person three ordered chicken tenders and seasoned rice, it came out cold as if it was out waiting for the other food and the rice was not seasoned throughly and was just white rice. Person four ordered the same thing chicken tenders and two sides and they never brought it out, they totally forgot to make her food entirely. Person five ordered a salad and didn't bring it out until the end and amazingly, while eating it there was no cheese and as she is searching for the cheese stumbles upon a dead fly in the salad! While we are informing the manager on our experience she was acting very nonchalant like it happens often, and did not even care what was going on! She leaves and comes back to try and charge us for the one persons food who came out fine but she couldnt even eat her food knowing not everyone was eating and that there was dead insects in the food!! She was disgusted and couldn't finish it. So the manager crumbles up the receipt and acts like shes doing us a favor by saying we don't have to pay for anything when theres no way we were ever going to pay after all these mistakes. Two strikes before even sitting at the table is insane and I will never recommend this poor excuse of a restaurant to anyone ever, DONT EAT HERE. read more
