Tonight truly put a bad taste in my mouth and I'm not like this. I don't leave reviews like this, but I'm a frequent flyer. They know my face. I've eaten here and spent too much money here to be treated like this tonight was insane. I walk in. I'm not acknowledged, but let's start at the top. It takes me an hour to get to get here from my home.. but the food is good so I don't mind the drive. I always call in or I usually sit down..but today I was on hold for 30 minutes. He said he'll be back in 5 to take my order. It took him 30 minutes to never come back...eventually I hung up because I ended up getting to the restaurant before he picked up the phone again when I walked in I wasn't acknowledged I wasn't greeted and I'm a frequent flyer. They know my face. And he knew who i was on the phone when we spoke... I spent way too much money here I get the same order. This was my food. My pancake was flat as the plate. Taste like it was cooked in oil.... My food looked thrown around in the box. I'm a bit upset because this is not how you treat someone who comes all the time and this is not how you treat someone's food... for me to drive an hour and this is what I received and how i was treated. I just don't know if I wanna come back but the food is really good so I'm torn. But tonight, I'm truly disappointed and letdown. This is how you guys let me walk out. Im so used to impeccable service; and food; i cant even believe im writing this lowkey hurt my feelings... (The in restaurant plate is what im used to) When i got home my togo ordered these were my pancake cookies....

One of our favorite places to eat. Everything is delicious. The portion are large, staffis friendly. Crispy chicken sandwich delicious. The Philly is yummy. Thier shakes & ice cream are delicious. The waffle with the waffle sundae is divine. Mango lemonade comes with a beautiful flower and is so yummy. The restaurant is clean and bright. Simple with a casual elegance.

The food was noticeably fresh, and you could really taste the difference. I had the biscuits and gravy, while my husband ordered the chicken-fried steak. Overall, the food was good, and we had a great experience. The pancakes were our least favorite. They were very cakey, and the batter was quite sweet, which just wasn't to my liking. It's definitely not something I would order again. The service was also friendly and attentive. Definitely a nice spot for a good, fresh meal! The ambiance was nice, nothing too loud or overwhelming, and the tables were spaced out decently, which made the dining experience comfortable.

Nice breakfast spot with great family friendly. I ordered a bunch of food. I totally forgot to take pictures. Service was really good. It's a little smaller than the average breakfast place so you must be prepared to wait but the food is very good and I would definitely revisit this location. I did make a mistake with my original post with pics from another restaurant but the current photos are from Syrup & Salt. Sorry about that. Cinnamon Roll- good (it has a maple syrup flavor so it wasn't our favorite but still good)

My husband and I found this little spot on a Tik Tok video and we were extremely n impressed with the experience! From the staff to the atmosphere, it was the perfect Sunday breakfast (we got there around 9am and there was a steady flow of people but got seated almost immediately!) The staff were so sweet and the food was amazing!!! Please do yourself a favor and try it out

A business owner calling a customer a liar. Another reason not to dine here.

Another reason not to dine here. I have never seen a business owner respond to a customer by essentially calling them a liar. The level of unprofessionalism is unbelievable. Apparently, next time I'll need to ask the server to stick her finger in the coffee so there can be "proof" that it was cold when it was served, or else it will be the customers fault lol. What I find most disappointing is that instead of simply acknowledging that a mistake occurred and taking accountability for your errors you chose to dispute my experience and attack my credibility. There is absolutely no reason for me to make up a story about receiving a cold cup of coffee. I have nothing against anyone there. People make mistakes. Own them and move on. Trying to discredit a customer to defend an error in service says far more about the way this business is run than it does about the customer.

Finally made it by this neighborhood spot in Mesa. Where they serve fresh quality food out of their scratch kitchen. This one took me right back to my old neighborhood. I grew up in. The service was great. The dining room is spacious and open. Food portions are generous for the cost that you're paying. I went with the chicken fried chicken and that was by far the best chicken fried chicken I have had in a long time. It's crispy, seasoned well, the chicken breast is still nice and juicy. The eggs were fluffy, the hashbrowns were crispy and it's served with a side of the most delicious buttery buttermilk pancakes. You don't want to skip out on this one. I also tried the burger plate. Again, generous size, the patty was nice and juicy, but it just didn't hold as much flavor as the chicken fried chicken.

The food was cooked to order and fresh. Everyone we came in contact with was friendly and kind. Great, attentive service. Very clean inside.

I had such a great experience at Syrup & Salt! It's such a cute, family-style spot with a warm and welcoming vibe. Even on Easter Sunday after church, it wasn't too crowded and we were able to get a table right away, which I really appreciated. Our server was amazing! very attentive, friendly, and he made sure we had everything we needed throughout the meal. The service really elevated the whole experience. I ordered the lamb chops egg breakfast with hashbrowns, apple cinnamon pancakes, and chicken sausage, and my niece got the cookie butter waffle with a side of beef bacon. Everything was delicious! The lamb chops were especially tender and cooked really well. I do wish they had just a little more seasoning, but they were still very enjoyable overall. Also definitely get their flavored tea! So good and a perfect addition to the meal. As someone with a pork allergy, I really appreciate that they are halal-certified. It makes dining out so much easier and stress-free, and I hope more restaurants like this continue to pop up around the Valley. And thank you for turning my niece into a beef bacon addict just like me We had a great time and will definitely be back, next time for dinner!

1st timer like most of the people since it opened up like 3 months. It's halal which I didn't understand what that meant, now I do nothing to do with Pork. Beef bacon never had it. I ordered chicken fried steak with gravy on a 1-5 rating I'd give it a 2 the meat had gristle running through it otherwise it was tender. The breading fell off as soon as you cut it. Scrambled eggs were over cooked and cold when it was served. Country potatoes were good. Coffee was good. It was very loud in their echoey gonna wear earplugs next time. Service was OK coffee cup was empty two or three times before I flagged someone down to get more that could improve, but they were really busy but that should make a difference. I'll bring a friend next time to see what he thinks Two pictures the one didn't have much gravy so I asked for more

You can get pancakes for dinner! French toast at any time! And everything is halal! Ok, you got me. Yes, I'd been meaning to try this place for a hot minute. Then it went viral and I was like "Oh man! YES! I do need to try this place!" Tried once and was really happy to see how busy it was. Happily came back at an off time and was able to get a table. And MAN! Am I glad I did! Service was amazing, fast and friendly. But the food...the food was what made me a repeat customer! I had the Philly cheesesteak and fries. My dad had the gyro and a side salad. Portions were generous. And the food was delicious! Crispy, hot, fresh fries. Crisp lettuce, crunchy cucumbers, salad. And our sandwiches were perfection. Coming back for sure to try the pancake tacos!

    Chocolate chip pancake

I think that maybe on a less busy day our experience would have been better... we were told a 20-30 minute wait and ended up waiting an hour at least. I know new businesses can have some disorganization at first, so take this experience with a grain of salt. I ordered a pancake, bacon, and egg breakfast with the pancakes substituted for chocolate chips. It was ok, lots of chocolate syrup on it kind of was too much but still good. It took a while to get our food but they were busy. Our food wasn't warm when we got it though so that was disappointing. The service was kind of spotty but nice for the most part. I will say, I was asked if I was done with one of my plates, and I said yes so she took it but then she went behind me and grabbed my other pancake and was gone before I could even say anything. I was a little sad as it was 4$ extra to get this substituted pancake and I was going to get a box but never got the chance... it was pricy. I hope as things move along they can work out the little kinks that make it difficult at the beginning of an opening because I think it has some potential with the idea of everything being halal.

This was so good! The food was so fresh and warm. This was a great place for breakfast, especially if you're on a halal aware diet. I truly loved the fact there was no pork and more authentic ingredients. It was really good. The service was awesome! And place was clean and being watched by the owners. I loved the marvel movies being played on the screens. That was such a great time. Coffee was not the best but it was still good. Definitely a must try!

The patio seating was surprisingly comfortable for how hot it's been outside. The food was good. A fun and impressive cocktail menu, however since I don't drink I had the privilege of gaining my calories in some great appetizers. (BACON WRAPPED DATES) The kids breakfast was simple, but my kids complained they didn't like the eggs and potatoes because they tasted like nothing, and they were right. So for other kids it's might be just right for them, too, however if your kids have tastebuds, the sweet treats and meatballs do the trick (very garlicky meatballs for me) It was lovely and fun to visit the market afterwards too.

At Joe's Farm Grill, the quality of ingredients does show in every single dish you get. Another thing to mention is, when you're done ordering your food at the register, they are pretty fast regardless of how packed the place is which pleasantly surprised me! For the onion rings, I liked them for a few reasons. Starting off, the onions weren't soggy by any means which I love in a good ring, batter wasn't the majority of the ring which is also a great sign, and lastly the crunch was very nice with them coming out fresh. The Fontina burger has a great beef patty that carries its flavor by how clean it tastes alongside the mushrooms that are the other biggest taste factor for this burger. Finally, the baby back ribs were the star for me personally because you can actually taste the pork for its quality. I usually expect a super sweet sauce that bogs me down after with ribs, but these ones left me feeling able to still go on about my day which I love. They aren't shake off the bone tender but I liked the gentle chew they provide. Overall, I recommend Joe's to anyone who cares more about the ingredient sourcing and quality while enjoying a nice family friendly vibe for a lunch/dinner. My son had ordered food from here as takeout last year. The food taste was interesting, though, I really like the cheese dip for the pretzel bites. The bites were pretty big. Lots of tables at this location, a bit warm. But our party of 14 was easily accommodated. Our daughter chose this place and it was quite loud. My husband and I are quiet people, so if we were to choose again, probably not here because of the loudness and all the TVs all over the place. But for those who like it loud, TVs and do not mind the prices on the menu, have at it. I don't remember our server's name. If she told us, I couldn't hear what she said. She was alright. Honestly, I had a hard time hearing even my son who sat next to me, and hearing my sister who sat one seat over in front of me, I couldn't hear what she was saying. Loudness is an issue for me and I do not have hearing issues. Our bill with tip came to over $700+. That was the most expensive lunch we've ever spent for our party of 14. Typically we're in the $400-500 range. But it was a special occasion. My husband and son got the 36 hr ribs. My husband really loved them. My son said it was okay. I didn't ask my brother and BIL who also got the same dish. I know my BIL was unhappy that he didn't get the side he requested and when they gave it to him (asparagus, I think), it was cold and he wasn't pleased about this. I got the hub burger and it was okay. There was a lot on the burger, but the patty itself, didn't have that much flavor. Some of the "Starters" or appetizers things were salted too much, but the burger did not taste like it had any salt. I had eaten too many starters so when my food came, I wasn't very hungry and took most of it home and ate for dinner another night. My husband and son do not like coleslaw and I ate theirs. THIS I really liked and tasted much better than KFC. I loved the sweetness and that the cabbage was shredded bigger than KFC. The pretzel bites were good. We got wings, and they were so-so. The roasted brussel sprouts were too salty. The deviled eggs were okay, but pricey for 2.5 eggs, which I do pay at Trader Joe's for organic free range pasturized eggs I could've gotten over 2 dozens. But, yes, I pay for the service and ambiance. I really thought there would be more than 5 halves for the deviled eggs. We got the nachos and they were okay. The melted cheese sauce was the best part. My mom got the fish and chips and she seemed to pick at it. She didn't want to take home, so it must not have been that good because she almost always takes a doggy bag home. My sister had the salmon and it was in a huge bowl and didn't look to be that much food. It was pricey. One of my SILs got something I didn't recognize and she said it was okay. No one I could tell was over the moon with the taste of the food and I heard the word "interesting" quite a bit. It's not that it tasted bad, but it didn't really taste good good. You know what I mean? I did bring a special order cake I got at Nothing Bundt Cakes in Gilbert. I asked Culinary Dropout if we could borrow a cake cutter. They didn't have one. Weird. This was a Red Velvet cake and this was absolutely divine. It was moist. The frosting was some sort of yummy cream cheese frosting. The cake was perfectly sized for our party of 14. The cake was the best part of our meal and it didn't come from Culinary Dropout. I would pay this much for a meal at Roy's for lunch for this sized party, but alas, all the Roy's in the valley are closed down. So sad. I'm not saying this place is bad or the food tastes bad. It's okay and pricey. If the food was great or amazing, we don't mind pricey. We have paid over $1K for meals for our big party, and happily do so when the food is equivalent to the price.

Reading all of the reviews here and maybe I just caught them on an off night, idk…read more.. First things first, it was hot in the restaurant, potentially the A/C was not working as well as it should have been or something, but it was not super comfortable. The service was good, I didn't get her name, a younger woman waited on me and she was very kind and did the best she could. The food came out super slow, I ordered empanadas to start, the waitress said they burned the first order (I appreciated that didn't just serve me overdone empanadas lol) once they finally arrived they were just unfortunately bland, and just kind of lacked authenticity. When she finally brought out my main dish, she even apologized for the wait and said "I had to go yell at them". For a main entree I ordered the French dip with onion rings, another reviewer mentioned they were the best they had had. The meat was kind of tough and dry (which is odd for a French Dip, and everything just lacked flavor. Even the au jus really had no kind of salt or much flavor to it. I really hoped after seeing how everyone else rated this place that I had found that little hole in the wall spot putting out killer food that we all long for, sadly this wasn't it.
