Decent food and generous portions and a wide menu selection. We started with the tortilla chip appetizer and both the queso and salsa had a good flavor. For my entrée I had the salad with crispy tenders, which were very good. The salad, while fresh, was bland and even the generous shredded cheese didn't add any flavor. The other family of our party had the Mote Cristo sandwiches and found them delicious. Service was very friendly and attentive and refills were prompt. Overall Cheddar's is a pretty good casual dining concept. I have eaten at different locations in Knoxville, TN and in Georgia. I stopped in this location and had lunch with my wife and we got in and out for under $30 with a tip so the value is definitely there with this brand but I have to say the food was below average. My burger was so thin and dry from apparently having a weight placed on it. I honestly will say it was the worst burger I have ever paid for in my life. The service was good and our server was genuine which I appreciate. Unfortunately I wouldn't ever return to a Cheddar's if I am the one paying. If you can't get a burger and fries right I am not gonna roll the dice on the rest of the menu. read more

I've had mostly positive experiences with Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen. This particular location in Chattanooga is quite pretty and spacious, so even when it's busy during lunch time, there's not much of a long wait. I've had a few dishes here like the country fried steak, smokehouse burger, grilled salmon and all of it has been pretty tasty. I think one of the best and probably one of the most underrated things to get here is the broccoli casserole! I'm not a huge fan of broccoli but the casserole here is great. My two biggest complains is that I'm unable to flag down a waiter if I need something and that the steaks are almost never cooked to the way I want it. I'll live if my steak is a bit more medium than I asked for, but last time I came here, the steak I ordered was basically raw on the inside. I asked if they could cook it longer but it came back still looking very red in the middle. Everything else is good though-- if it were not for these two issues then I would happily give this place five stars. I think Cheddar's is a decent experience, just maybe skip the steak. read more

I know this a chain restaurant but I've never been living in Atlanta since the closes one is 45+ min drive and heard it from friends that I should try it. On Sunday, March 24, 2024, my husband and I decided to go to Cheddar's in Chattanooga for dinner. It was very crowded with people waiting outside. We walked past the hostess desk to check out if there was space to sit at the bar, which we have sat at before. The entire bar counter was empty. The hostess came behind us and berated us for being in the bar area, telling us that there is a long line and we can't sit there. I was so embarrassed, and said something about looking for our friends. She continued to loudly tell us that we couldn't be in there and we would have to get on the waiting list. I might add, we are very quiet people, and I've never been more humiliated in a restaurant. I realize that this was the reaction of the hostess, but she is the face of the restaurant upon walking in. We were semi-regulars at Cheddar's, but will never go back. read more

Opened on December 16th of 2013 this is one Chattanooga's finest restaurants. I remember when this was a parking lot for Walmart customers. I know because I used to park my car in this parking lot. A couple features I saw were a fish tank and a big pole spinning around on the ceiling with a bunch of fans on it. menu items ordered: fried catfish, macoroni and cheese, buttered corn, and sweet tea of course. First if all, they brought plenty of big portions of each item ordered. The catfish was fried and was great as it came with tartar sauce which I like with it. The macoroni and cheese was good as it came with sprinkles of cheese on top of it which gave it a special taste. The corn was so good I ate it first. It needed no salt for taste as it was just right. Finally the sweet tea was the best as I has to have 3 refills of it. Maybe even 4. In summary, if parking lot is full just park in the Walmart parking lot as it is right next door. I did and only had to walk maybe 100 feet to Cheddars. Altogether, I will come back as this was my very first visit to Cheddars. I was impressed. read more

I've eaten at Cheddars before in Flowood, MS. This experience was good as always I hade a ribeye it was great my with had grilled Salmon with rice pilaf and broccoli. Her rice pilaf tasted like pure salt and wasn't edible. Besides that everything else was good. read more

I feel like every time i come to cheddar no matter the time, they are always busy and typically on a wait. It had been a while since my fiancé and i have been to cheddar's so we thought we would stop in for lunch. We had the delicious and flaky croissants for an appetizer, they come with 4, and for our meal, i had the special spaghetti lasagna. My fiancé had the country fried chicken with gravy, and green beans and mash potatoes. The lasagna looked very appetizing but it was way too dense for me. It also needed more meat sauce in my opinion for the size. I was only able to eat a few bites and was terribly full. The country fried chicken was well cooked but nothing special. Our server Amanda was great and very attentive even with it being extremely busy. She was the best part of our visit. Cheddars is a once a year kind of place to me. BEST FOOD AND SERVICE EVER!!! I had a doctors appointment today and my hubby and I got really hungry so I suggested Cheddar's. We got here a lil bit after open and didn't have to wait for a table. The waitress we got is the absolutely amazing!!! Like GIVE THIS WOMAN A RAISE!! Everything we ordered got to the table so fast and everything was so fresh and DELICIOUS! I had grilled white fish, broccoli, and French fries. We shared a piece of carrot cake for dessert. Southern fare which was over-cooked and nothing was unique or well-seasoned. Cheddar's is a huge restaurant. They seem quite corporate and clean inside. There's a ton of seats, and it's super busy during lunch time. They have a big menu, full of drinks and food. It reminds me of those chain restaurants like Chili's or Applebees. But they haven't made it that big yet. Maybe soon, you'll see Cheddar's pop up near you as they expand. They have a "Comfort Food" section in the menu. It has all your traditional southern entrees like meatloaf and country fried steak. I love meatloaf so I decided to get that. The meatloaf was 2 slices on some mashed potatoes. It came with the sauce on the side. I found the sauce too sweet. So I just ate the meatloaf without the sauce. The meatloaf itself was okay. It wasn't the best meatloaf I had. If you're craving some, I guess it'll do. I ordered some Green Beans for my side. It was a bit bland and was also okay. It felt like it came from a can and they just heated it up. I also tried some of their honey butter croissants. They were very good. It was all buttery, hot and sweet. Overall, it was an alright place. The service was great though. They must have had great training. They were friendly and efficient. read more

Cheddar's used to be our favorite restaurant. The prices keep going up and the portions get smaller. Today was the worst. My salmon was TINY. Smaller than two sugar packets end to end and no wider. We are through. I said something about it to the waiter and he said flippantly that it was the lunch portion. I said that it was ridiculous for for lunch or otherwise. $12.29 is outrageous. What a fabulous place to have lunch! My waitress, Katie, was just wonderful. Such a bright smile and sunny disposition. She spent exactly the right amount of time making sure that I was happy with my lunch without being overbearing. I really love their outdoor patio area. The music they have playing is neither too loud nor too soft. The patio area itself is really beautiful. To top it off, there's a lovely fountain that makes the whole area very serene. If you didn't look out you would never even recognize you were on a main street. With such a diverse lunch menu, of course I over-ordered. I could not pass up the cheesy fries with bacon. OMG They were amazing! For my entrée I ordered the half club sandwich and tortilla soup special. This was one of the best sandwiches I've had in recent memory. I tasted the soup, which was delicious, but was too full to finish it with my meal. It'll make a perfect dinner when I get home tonight! I wish this location was closer to where I work. What a good lunch I had!!!! This place is always wonderful!!!! To start off they were packed!!! But we got a self seating in the bar area. We were greeted as soon as we sat down. Our waiter Gage was awesome. He was super nice and quick to bring us our drinks. We ordered our food and appetizers. We expected for it to take a while but we were very wrong. The food made it to our table quick. The food was delicious!!!! Made well and fresh. We ordered the onion rings for an app. They were hot and delicious!!!! We also ordered the maple bacon chicken sandwich, with a side salad. It was well made and the sandwich was so good! The chicken was juicy and moist, while the bacon had the perfect flavor! My sisters and i decided to go out for dinner at Cheddars. I hadn't been here in a few years but the last time i remember going, they had this variety sampler that had nachos AND chicken tenders on it, so i was real excited about getting it. When we got there, the ambiance was still the same and we were seated immediately which is def a plus!! Our waitress was pretty nice. She took our orders and it didn't take long for the food to be prepared. When we got our food, our waitress kinda disappeared. They had left off the fries on one of the kids meals and left off a few condiments that we requested. No biggie though. It was a quick fix. My sister got the club sandwich. She said that she expected the meat to be warm but it was just a ham/turkey sandwich on toasted bread. Noting spectacular. She did have broccoli and cheese casserole, that was the best thing on her plate. It was really good. The variety sampler that i had been looking forward to was no longer available. The platter they now had only had spinach dip, salsa, and queso on it. So it was just a salsa platter. I wasn't interested. I got the match combo with ribs and chicken fingers with salad and fries for my sides. My food was pretty good. Fries could've been a bit hotter but they were good. Another sister got chicken strips which were also good. When they finally brought out the fries for the kids meal, they were fresh out of the grease which is how they should be....for an adult! My little nephew couldn't even pick the fries up due to them being so hot. But hey, overall, the visit was fine. read more

Came in for lunch, ordered chips and queso for my app, which apparently they forgot about because it came about two minutes before my entree. I ordered the combination ribs and chicken tenders, with mac and cheese and fries. Mac was cold, bland and way overcooked, god awful. Fries were old and dry, ribs were a joke. Their baby back ribs are advertised as smoked, but after the first bite, you can clearly tell they are not. There was no seasoning on the ribs, the underside was completely naked, ( no sauce, seasoning and still had the membrane) and the meat was on the dry side. These were lazy baked, and from the looks of it, broiled to make it look smoked. Only good thing was my server was sweet and attentive, and the tenders, which were crispy and juicy. I don't think this place is worth a second try, so I won't be back. read more

Went to lunch with a group of friends for one of my friend's birthdays, and it was so nice! I wanted to stick to the lighter/healthier side of things that day for my lunch meal, so I decided to go for grilled chicken, steamed broccoli, side of Mac n cheese, and rice; and let me tell you...IT WAS SO GOOD!!!! I was actually very shocked as to how tender and flavorful that chicken was. I would go back just for that kind of meal. It was the perfect amount to be satisfied, and it was just really good honestly! Cheddar's has such a wide variety of food, that they really have something for just about everyone. So today, another visit from my wonderful parents, up from Atlanta. Boy - did we get a lot done in a few short hours! And that included a quite pleasant lunch at Cheddar's. This is a chain, it is a little ambitious in scope of the menu - but bottom line? It's Houston's-lite, J Alexander's-lite-lite, that kind of food. And it's good. This is solid casual American fare, so to speak. Huge place and at after 2pm on a Wed, I was surprised by how busy it was! I'd heard they do a consistently hopping business, but didn't expect it at this linner hour. Prompt seating, nice staff, good server (Zach). We were more interested in talking to each other than being in deep thought over the menu - plus we sat in one of the back areas of the restaurant, so we had opportunity to check out plates on folks' tables as we passed and see food being taken to other diners....we had to start with the spinach dip - out of habit when it looks as yummy as theirs did at other people's tables - and it was really good. Spinachy and artichokey with an interesting seasoning (something different than I have had but much liked) and a dollop of sour cream on top that was nicely warmed on top of the hot dip. Mom and I went for the same - the double decker club sandwich with fries, which was even better than it looked at the handful of tables where we had gotten a peek, and Dad, in a salad mood, got the fried chicken salad. Score for CN - I got to bring home half my sandwich (I just finished it for dinner, hee). So I decided to come back on a not so busy day to give them another chance. This time I tried their NEW mamas famous meatloaf, mashed potato's and corn. The corn was still my favorite part of the dish. Just like last time. The meatloaf had a great taste however it was so dry that it made me gag. They had a dipping sauce for it which was WAYYYY to sweet and just overall did not make the taste any better. The mashed potato's were super dry and chunky. It grossed me out to even think about trying it. The last time I put their homemade ranch in it and it made them smoother and more flavorful. Still not satisfied with this place.
