Came here for the first time for lunch. The decor and atmosphere was fancier than I thought it would be but still casual. Lots of menu items to pick from and liked that they had a pick 2 lunch special. I went for the chicken Caesar pasta salad which is a unique menu item; I thought it would be mostly pasta salad style but it is more is regular salad. I would get it again. I also just got a baked sweet potato which comes with caramel! My friend got the Pina colada which was tasty. I am very intrigued by the Painkiller since there is a 2 drink limit per person and the description doesn't seem to have too much alcohol. Overall I would return and keep exploring the menu. The service at this Cheddars was mediocre, at best. My colleague and I were seated in a section just ahead of another group of the same size, yet a manager had to intervene to service us. Twice. The waiter's attention to our table was lackluster, and he seemed genuinely disinterested in if we were satisfied or not. His section wasn't packed, yet we essentially had to flag him down for service. My colleague's food came out cold, and my order of a "loaded" baked potato only came with the topping options of butter, sour cream and cheese. I love Cheddars! They have great salads, burgers and the croissants are amazing. Prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous.

Second visit was much much better. Service was better. Ribs were truly fall off the bone. My wife kept nibbling at my ribs and she doesn't even eat meat like that. Also, ate all of my coleslaw. Croissants were a nice soft sweet buttery mouthful. Wife got the bacon covered cheese fries...very good. Highly recommend this location. Crowded for a good reason. read more

Went to eat on Easter. Went for the sole purpose of eating Grilled Salmon. Was told they had ran out of Salmon. When I asked how they did that I was told the staff did not weigh and cut enough. Stopped for lunch on a Saturday, around 1:00pm. Service was quick and efficient. I ordered the chicken pot pie with a side salad. The pot pie was pretty good, very creamy, loaded with chicken, peas and carrots. It did need a good dose of salt and pepper though. Hubby got the New Orleans pasta with chicken, sausage and shrimp. I attempted to eat tonight with my family. The hostess told us we would have to wait on servers. The next family came in and was seated in front of us. When I questioned why she said we couldn't fit in the booth. She went to the back and came out with another guy he said which one is it. He didn't ask me if there was a problem he said do you have five. I asked for the manager he while smirking said he was the manager. I asked him how many people could fit in a booth- he refused to answer. I asked if he would quit smirking long enough to speak with me. This is an all time favorite and about one of the few reataurant chains that i will consistently try. Love almost everything i have order here... the potpie is one of the BEST i have ever had! The salads are always fresh and delicious...i love the lemon vinaigrette... the croissants are yummy but always under cooked for some reason...the burgers are very tasty and large portions are always a standard here...had the triple treat sampler with cheese bites, nachos, ckn tenders all delicious. This place is always busy and you can expect to wait on the weekends for sure. The first time we came here was about a month ago and I was pretty disappointed, the host pointed to a table and said "go sit over there" didn't provide menus or silverware, I had to get back up to ask for it....it took over an hour to get our food and my medium requested steak was rare....overall just not to good, BUT we love their cocktails so we decided to give it another try and were glad we did! This go round was near perfect, the manager greeted us at the door, introduced himself and showed us to our table. Our server was great and food was tasty and prompt. I need to be honest and just say it. I don't get. I just don't understand why people rave about this restaurant. I don't understand why every time I drive by, the parking lot is packed. The food is basic Sysco-esk and completely unhealthy. It's either deep fried, floating in butter, creamed, or sugared. Seriously, there is sugar in the green beans. Who puts sugar in green beans?!? The slaw was bland and tasted only of mayonnaise. The broccoli was overcooked and drowning in butter. And believe it or not, there were no beans in the red beans and rice. The catfish was fine, but the burger was so greasy the bun absorbed it and wouldn't stay put. The fries were blonde and under cooked. I've asked everyone I know who goes regularly why they like it. We've eaten at other Cheddars before so we were anticipating another good experience. We were greeted and seated immediately as it wasn't busy at all, no line. Our waitress appeared quickly and took our drink order and returned quickly with the drinks. It was downhill from there. We ordered the meatloaf plate and a chicken tender plate. The portions were small and took a while to come out. Our waitress disappeared for long periods and seemed distracted the whole time we were their. In Chattanooga often, I decided to try Cheddars... again. I first learned of this restaurant chain while visiting Jackson, Mississippi. That location has been closed now for a few years but I remember how great it was. The Hendersonville, TN location, After trying it, left me unimpressed but I thought I would give the Chattanooga location a try before I write this chain off. I ordered a sirloin steak with baked potato and potato soup (I like potatoes lol). The soup really could not be considered soup, although it did have a good taste... It was so extremely thick Which does not suggest soup to me. But again, it was good so no real complaints there. The steak... Extremely dry, no moisture whatsoever in it. Had it not been for the steak sauce I probably would not have gotten it down without choking. Additionally, there was no flavor other than a sprinkling of dried parsley on the top. I'm not kidding. The service was OK... I can't really complain about that. My problem was really with the food and the lack of flavor. I did not make any complaints as I rarely will do that... It has to be really bad for me to speak with management. I was really more interested in getting back to my hotel and getting some rest. I'm hoping this was just a bad night for them but I'm betting not. read more

The food was ok. Unfortunately the service wasn't very good. The server really gave us a WTF moment at the end of the meal. Three of the four children with us ordered kids meals which includes a drink. The bill came and included those drinks for $2.29 per child. When she came for the credit card, we let her know that she had charged us for the kids drinks. She didn't understand. We then reminded her that the kids meals come with drinks. She let us know that she just rang them up for adult drinks instead because the kids drinks come in small plastic cups. Gee, thanks for deciding to spend an extra $6.87 plus tax of our money for us. We gave her that look like we couldn't believe what she just told us and she looked at us for like a second and then walked away. So there goes future business from us. A large party of Hispanics walked in right as we were about to leave our booth. The group was so large that they took up three large booths around us. Her body language and eye rolling made it very clear that she didn't want to wait on the group. Waitress ignored our table while taking care of either friends or family at her other table. My wife asked if the chicken soup was broth or cream based and the girl just said she didn't know. I had to get another server to answer the question. Our appetizers were very good though and my wife loved her soup. My salmon was over cooked and dry. I gave them three stars for this visit. The food was good even with the menu changes. The day that we were there it was a busy night. I watched the other waiters handle their sections with ease, even though they were full. I don't know the name of our waiter but he was horrible. We had to keep asking for drink refills and the only way to get the empty dishes and cups to be picked up was to put them above us on the ledge. The only thing that he was quick about was grabbing the tickets from us no sooner than we put our payment on top of them. He also dropped them back off at the table just as fast. Loaded with stuff that did not taste like real food, added sugars to the carrots, buns on the burgers that did not taste like anything but dried cardboard and the meat of the burger tasted like lground up and fried cardboard. This place is always packed, always. I think the main reason is price. The food selection is priced very reasonably for a sit down non-fast food restaurant. The quality is slightly below Applebee's/Chili's but still pretty good, again nice prices. We were seated right away and our server was pretty attentive and did a solid job. This is a family place so it was full of kids and pretty loud. The decor is nice and it reminded me a little of Carraba's but not as dark. I'm not sure I'd go back. When it comes to reviewing restaurants and service I am very hard. I give this review 2stars only because the service is always great. I've been to this restaurant five times now and every single time the food is always absolutely cold. Now don't get me wrong I understand mistakes happen, and you're not always going to get a perfect dish. But when you continuously get the same product then it raises the question who are the cooks/chef. But this review is not all negative the restaurant is always clean and it seems that there are always super busy. Have to give a shout out to Cheddar's on their busy lunch and dinner time. But I really think the cooks need to pay more attention to detail because the food could be heated up before it serve to a customer. Appetizers and beers seem to always come out great it's just the entrées. But in all I would still recommend Cheddar's as a great place to dine or have lunch with family or solo. While food portioning is impressive at this Cheddars, environment clean & upbeat, and servers friendly, the food itself tastes simply too "over-condimented" if that's an acceptable-enough term. In my humble opinion, my experience was the food was salty, condensed, overcompensated. When you eat the thought comes to mind "this can't possibly be good for you..." because it's simply too strong, and ingredients are not that stellar; I could just taste the preservatives. We try to stick to locally owned and operated restaraunts, but while in the Hamilton Place area we decided to try Cheddar's for lunch. Since it opened the parking lot has been packed so we figured lunch might be a safer bet. There were indeed a few people waiting for tables, but since we opted for the high tops in the bar area we were seated immediately. We've been back twice since our first visit, and were pretty surprised by how much we liked it even though it's a chain. The food is good, and at lunch it's a pretty unbeatable value for the quality and amount of food you get. I've had the chicken pot pie and was really impressed with it, again especially since I wasn't expecting to be particularly blown away. The honey butter croissants are also really good. Overall, we've had three good experiences there and while I don't think we will make it an every-weekend kind of destination, I'm sure we'll be back. read more

This is my first time going here.What I got was: Buffalo chicken platter, seasoned rice, and the spinach and artichoke dip. The spinach and artichoke dip and fries were good. However, the seasoned rice tasted like normal white or jasmine rice. The buffalo tenders were good, I've had better at OCharleys or Applebee's. They were just not all tossed too well and the sauce was kinda dry. The wait time was pretty good. We waited for around a minute to get seated. They provide a wide variety of foods and their signature queso dip is superb. The service has been great every time I've been there..... and I've been there many times and plan to keep on going. Great prices + great quality food. A perfect combination for a great experience, especially for Valentine's night! My significant other & I went to Cheddar's for Valentine's day night. We expected it to be packed, but we were seated immediately. The bacon cheeseburger is what won me over. My S/O ordered the smokehouse burger and loved it too. We frequently try new burger joints in an attempt to see if anyone can top our all-time favorite -- Red Robin's for him and Five Guys Burger and Fries for me (Red Robin's back cheeseburger is my 2nd favorite). We haven't found anyone who could replace our favorites in several years until we had Cheddar's. I heard they were good, but didn't expect it to become my favorite. I was even more surprised that they were able to top my S/O's favorite burger (something from Red Robin's that comes with onion straws.) Every ingredient, from the lettuce to the bacon was absolutely delicious. It's been years since I've had a bacon cheeseburger with actual quality bacon. Even Red Robin's has become low quality in the bacon department. It's always rubbery, thin and stringy. Only a few bites of the 2-3 bacon strips are ever edible since most of it is that white fatty rubber crap. I was pleased that the burger from Cheddar's came with plenty of bacon and it was crispy and edible. I even commented on how the mayonnaise was "real." It's so rare to have real ingredients these days, but our food tasted close to a homemade burger would, only better. I loved the bun too! Strange, but even the buns were delicious. I don't know what kind of bread they use or how it's done, but it seemed to be that Cheddar's aims for quality in every single ingredient that goes into their burgers. On the smokehouse burger that my S/O ordered, there was onion straws, bacon, cheddar cheese, and some kind of mayo/bbq type of sauce (similar to what they put on most burgers that come with onion straws.) Our total came out at $28, which was a total surprise since it was V-day night and considering the size of the burgers and the order of appetizers + a large beer. Our total order was: the two burgers (mine was like $6 something and his was only $5 something, not sure why the price difference since they were similar but his had onion straws and mine did not), both came with fries, an order of tortilla chips that came with a queso sauce and salsa, a dr. pepper, a and a large beer. As for portion size, you may get a bit more chips and fries at other places, but you pay for it big time when the check comes. I was impressed at the size-to-price ratio. The queso was the best yet. Not the average white, bland stuff -- it's real cheese (finally!), thick, and comes with beef. Both the salsa and queso was slightly spicy and flavorful. The only things I didn't love with were the fries and onion straws on my S/O's burger. The onion straws were really greasy and soggy. Not crunchy and delicious like mini onion rings should be. Fries are also a big part of a burger meal to me, and I wasn't impressed with theirs. They weren't special and I didn't even end up finishing them. They were kind of dry, perhaps not very fresh. The kind you can get choked on without a drink. We definitely left full before either of us could even finish our burgers or fries. I still had over half my burger when we left and yes, it was still delicious at 2am. The atmosphere was upbeat. Pop music playing a bit loudly, but pleasant since I wasn't in the mood for quiet eating. I'd rather hear music than people's crunching and clinking of forks. We could still hear each other talk okay, so it isn't maddening. I loved the enormous fish tank and the fresh whimsical look when you walk in. It felt very clean and comfortable. The staff were perfect - not over-doing it, but stopping by enough that we never had empty drinks. There was a bit of a wait once we finally figured out what we wanted, but no longer than 35 minutes. Just enough that required a smoke break. People told us to expect a 2 hour wait and overpriced food. It was the complete opposite though. Cheddar's is the perfect place for both burger and cheese lovers. I loved the homemade-quality menu items!
