Food took forever to arrive, chicken tenders were over brined and the meat lost all of it's texture...it had a mushy mouth feel...not very appealing. WE have been living in Corpus for 6 months and we miss Cheddar's. On Sunday April 26, 2015 at 3PM we choose to give this Cheddar's another opportunity to meet Cheddar standards. We placed our order within less than 3 minutes we were served our salads 45 seconds later our chicken tenders and chicken pot pie was served. Somewhat better than the first time we visited this Cheddar's on that visit our salads and entree's were all served at the same time and a few minutes later our appetizer onion rings were served. And after speaking to the manager Roger it is clear he is part of the problem he blamed it on the server but my question is this (btw I know the answer) How long does it take to make the chicken pot pie? How long does it take to make the chicken tenders? Less than 4 minutes? The chicken tenders were not hot just warm they did not just come out of the fryer. This Cheddar's pre cooks the entree's....and I always thought Cheddar's prided its self on being home made fresh. NOT THIS CHEDDAR'S! Great service, horrible food, smelly dirty facility!!!!!! Went to dinner last night and was greatly disappointed. Our appetizer, Cheddar's Cheese Fries was COLD and made with OLD fries, there were approximately 8 fries with a few sprinkles of cheese the rest had NONE. My child ordered grilled cheese, there was not enough cheese to hold the 2 slices of bread together and again COLD fries were served. When I say cold and old, I could tell they had been sitting out due to their grainy texture inside and soggy texture outside. My husband took one bite of his dinner and it was COLD, not cooked through! Very disappointing! As we walked out, a different/shorter way than we were lead to our table I smelled a strong odor similar to urine. I had an exceptional experience at this Cheddar's location. We ordered chips and queso which was pretty good. Then we ordered for our entrées a chicken pot pie along with a Cajun pasta and they were both delicious. I got a salad with my meal and I have to say this restaurant has one of the best salads. I really enjoyed eating here, the waiter was new but was excellent at his job. The one negative thing I have to say is my steak was burnt on the top but they did discount my food because of it. My family and I had the worst experience tonight for my moms birthday. First off, we had a huge party and tried to call ahead and they don't take reservations. When we get there they tell us it'll be an hour wait to sit together or we can do two booths where we can still kind of talk to each other. We chose the booths since my aunt/cousins have a 3 hour drive home. The manager sets this up, and my sister and brother in law are unable to fit with us so we actually separate into 3 tables with my sister and BIL by themselves. The manager offered appetizers on the house. But things just got worse from there. Apparently our waitress had only been "on the floor" for 2 days and didn't have any experience (even though I'm pretty sure you go through shadowing and training before being solo). So many things wrong and 3 hours later we were out of there. Orders were all wrong. Never brought our drinks-- about 20 min later I think another waiter saw us without drinks. My sisters table without silverware forever. No refills. My brother and his GF ordered drinks from the bar and we had to ask 4 times for them and then my brother just canceled them. Wrong things all over as simple as bringing ranch to go-- brings ranch in a dish. I mean really? No salad dressing for my BIL and he has to ask multiple times. We asked so many times for things and the server wouldn't do it or she would make an excuse for not doing something correctly. Then when the checks came all he'll broke lose. That took about an hour. Orders all wrong in tickets, adding appetizers, I can go on and on. It was just the worse and my poor mom had an awful birthday. The manager gave us some complimentary free chips and queso cards. Aside from the apparent popularity and consequent long line to get in, I have had nothing but pleasant experiences with Cheddar's. My first visit, the wait for a table was roughly 30 minutes. My family waited patiently in the car, and my father assured me that the wait was well worth it. Once we were seated, we ordered the mozzarella sticks for an appetizer (yum!) and it came out pretty quickly. My sister ordered the Chicken & Waffles (definitely looked good), and I ordered the Chicken Pasta Salad. It was heavenly! A symphony of shaved parmesan goodness, expertly mixed greens, and chicken cooked to absolute perfection, with a lightly glazed, buttery croissant on the side. It was filling, inexpensive, and pretty darn healthy. After, we asked for a couple coffees and the waitress brought some out promptly. Very good coffee, by the way. Left a good tip. Let me begin by saying that our server JD was great! Attentive, considerate, and engaging. He offered suggestions on the menu and was honest. We ordered the Wisconsin cheese bites (curds) and was pleasantly surprised, very tasty! My side salad was quite lackluster for $2.50 with the exception of the croissant, it was yummy. As for the main meal, my husbands fish tacos were meh (too big too eat in a taco and the cole slaw had no flavor) my chicken strips were good but not great and the fries and honey mustard left much to be desired.
