Cheddars is one of the few restaurants close by that has something everyone in my family loves so we frequent there often and are very familiar with the food and service. Tonight the service was extremely slow, there were things floating in my iced water and my food was cold and some of it was under cooked. Our server acknowledged, apologized and honored my request to speak with a manager to discuss my issues...she even asked the manager if she could have the food re made and placed in to go boxes. I appreciated all she did....only for her to bring out more cold and undercooked food. Extremely disappointed. Our servers name was Jamaal. I ordered a chicken pot pie with a side salad. My pot pie came out 5 minutes before my side salad. (Typically anyone would want the salad first) My friend ordered the chicken tender meal with a dipping sauce on the side. We were halfway through our meals when dipping sauce arrived. Also, her sweet tea was EMPTY almost our entire meal....eventually a different server brought her one. Overall the food was delicious. The service was very unpleasant. My Cheddar's experience: on September 4, 2019, I ordered my food and did not get when I ordered, the food was cold, and it did not taste good. I kept my receipt when I left I checked my bank account and they charge me an additional $10 more then when I paid for. I returned to the restaurant and requested to speak to the manager and showed them the receipt and my bank account to show proof that they charged me an additional $10. They told me that sometimes it takes a while for the bank to clear and for me to check with my bank. I explained to them that I was going to sue them for the additional charge. I left my bank today on 9 October, I showed them my receipt, and my bank confirmed that cheddars put the $10 back on my debit card few days after I left the restaurant to complain to them What does that tell you about Cheddar's? Let me help you out. Does lack of integrity comes to mind? There is a reason why this restaurant gets 2 1/2 stars on Yelp. Now I presume that someone from Cheddar's will write a rebuttal to cover up their mess. They should change their name from cheddar's to cheaters. That's actually kind of funny but it's not. I used to love Cheddars and the food is still pretty good but this location, which is the one we used to always good to has really gone down hill. The wait was 25 minutes at 4 PM, it didn't even seem that busy, I thought the place looked a bit unclean. Once we were seated are waiter was good and the food was great, I'll try the Grand Prairie location next time and see if it's any better. I think possibly they need new management. The Buffalo chicken wrap and chips and queso are my favorite items here. read more

Worst establishment I have ever been to in my whole life. I love cheddars and have never had an issue with them until I visited this location. We arrived at 5:00pm on a Saturday and were told it would be a 15-20 minute wait for a party of two. We were fine with that as we expected it to be maybe even longer since it was dinner time on a Saturday. We didn't end up getting seated until 6:00pm which is not the part I have the most issue with but if the wait is going to be that long, i would expect the establishment to let me know that upfront, not tell me 15-20 minutes. Anyway, we get seated and our server didn't attend to us until 20 minutes later of us sitting there. As soon as he attended to us, we just went ahead and ordered everything. Drinks took 30 minutes to get, appetizer took 40 minutes to get and the entrees came out almost an hour later. This service was the slowest I have ever experienced from the moment I stepped into the building. The host girl was very distracted and walking around the entire restaurant instead of helping people who were walking in. The host desk was unattended very often. This establishment is full of a bunch of children who don't care about their jobs. They would all walk around the restaurant together play fighting, cussing at each other and making videos on their phones together. The server we had was extremely slow and seemed like he didn't care about his job either. One of the big red flags was that the chef himself brought us our food, not the server or one of the other 30 children working there who were doing absolutely nothing. It was all so bad that we saw 2 other couples leave 25 minutes after being seated because the server STILL didn't go see them. Not to mention that the couple next to us literally left the establishment without paying and the server came to ask us about it and laughed about it. There were also two very large parties that were nearby us that were SO LOUD and had their grimy kids running around, they were all yelling, blowing whistles and making so much noise that was really making the whole experience worse as they were just allowed to do that and no employee ever checked in with them to have them quiet down. And let me also add that the entire restaurant was dirty. Everywhere you looked there were stains, slimy hand prints on the glass, trash all over the floors, tables being left dirty for 30+ minutes , etc. Please do yourself a favor and never come to this location, it's so ghetto and full of employees as well as patrons that are disgusting and have absolutely no manners . Well it's my second visit to Cheddars in a short time. The food continues to impress but the kitchen doesn't get the food out in a timely manner. It's so bad that you want to leave but stay because you've already invested 45 minutes. The servers are friendly and caring so I don't blame them but where is a manager? So I'm hoping to visit again for good food but only when my life is so bad that sitting in Cheddars all day will be a highlight. By the way, awesome monte Christo sandwich, Buffalo wrap, broccoli cheese casserole, gone croissants but running out of French fries seems suspect. Went here for lunch today, took 15 mins to find a parking space. Another 15 mins at the bar to get food ordered. But food came out within 10 minutes which is great. Stayed simple due to shortage of time, ordered chicken tender basket. The chicken tenders were very crispy on the outside and the meat was juicy. Fries were seasoned heavily, which I like. Good food, bartender was in the woods during lunch hour though. This is a good chain, hopefully will get to try full meal next visit. read more

I've been coming to this location for years and this is the first time I've ever come across a hostess as rude as the one I had. It was still 3 1/2 hours before closing and they only had 3 parties in-front of us and we were still told we were not guaranteed to be sat, I've worked in food before so I know that's something you shouldn't not tell customers. This is the worst service I have received in a very long time. First of all we had to wait over 40 minutes before we were seated. Which was fine because that's the norm on the weekend. It took a while to get our food bc of course they were busy, so they get a pass for that. When the waitress came and took Our order I put emphasis on how much I HATE pink meat, my request was WELL DONE (I ordered steak) Bad enough I had to wait over 30 minutes just to get my food but when she brought it it was fully pink. If I wanted pink meat I could just go bite a cow. So I sent it back. In addition to initially waiting 30 minutes, I NOW I had to wait an additional 25 minutes just to get what I originally ordered. By this time I have drank all my soda and if you go here often you know their glasses are small. So when she brought my steak back I had to wait an additional 15 minutes on plastic ware ( I can't eat off restaurant silverware) Now my waitress had another table directly behind me that she was constantly going to. I sat my Glass directly on the end of the table just to make sure she saw my Empty glass. She passed my table more than 6 times and not one time did she ask if we needed a refill, if we were ok or anything. I wanted some More bread lol Anyway to sum it up not only was my order wrong and I had to wait a long period of time before I got my food, I also had to eat my Food without anything to drink because I drank that small Glass of soda before my correct order of Food was brought back. I couldn't even finish my food because my Mouth was so dry. $50 ticket and couldn't even get a refill. Service was the failing point on my visit yesterday. I had a very important client with me. The CEO of a billion dollar company. The sever eas short and ill mannered. It was embarrassing. We often do take outs from this place for lunch. We got veggie plate which consisted of either house salad or tortilla soup, butter croissant, and four choice of sides. We got tortilla soup which was basically tomato and onion cooked in water. I ordered loaded potato, steamed broccoli, sweet carrots, and broccoli casserole. The price was reasonable ($5.99) but the food was meh! They forgot my loaded potato and instead gave 2 broccoli casseroles. Their butter croissant is yummy. read more

Whoa, that's a lot of huge onion rings! As an out of town person visiting this state for the first time, that was my reaction to ordering that onion ring appetizer! I ordered the steak with the half slab of ribs and my meal was just perfect! Ribs were nice and saucy and the steak was seasoned and cooked well. The deciding factor for giving this place five stars was the speed and quality of service. Thank you Cheddars! Too bad I probably won't see you again since I live on the West Coast :-( read more

I love Cheddars...always have. We needed to find a place to eat that eight people could agree on. Of course, my first thought was Cheddars - especially since it was just across the highway. My favorite thing on the menu is the Hawaiian Chicken Sandwich, though I will say that their Baked Potato Soup rocks!! I always sub onion straws for fries and, again, it did not disappoint. The wait for our food took way too long, but without us even complaining the manager came out, apologized for the long wait and said our tab would be significantly discounted. Score! This review is regarding the location at 700 Interstate 635 Service Rd, Irving, TX. I had the HALF BLACKENED SHRIMP ALFREDO and 'LOADED' BAKED POTATO. I'm not sure that I was served the correct pasta dish. When I think Alfredo, I think of linguine noodles not penne pasta. It was an okay dish, but very under-seasoned. As for the 'loaded' baked potato, it was very dry, and served without butter. The 'loaded' only included bland sour cream and a few shreds of cheese. Bacon cost extra, and there are no chives! This was absolutely the worse dining out experience I ever had in my life.. I became humiliated and embarrassed and was kicked out by a wanna be security cop that seem to stand in the same area where we was sitting for hours just watching TV and at the end of our dinner after I got my ticket I had to discipline one of my kids (not the soon to be 9th grader) and this jerk of a cop intervene thinking he was doing his job which he wasn't and told me I had to leave because I disciplined my son which was none of his business and I told him Sir this is my child mind your business like you been doing when other kids were running around climbing on poles and you said absolutely nothing. Decor: 2/5 -Typical Cheddar's decor, tables were not cleaned thoroughly and menus were sticky Service: 2.5/5 -must be understaffed the day I came. It wasn't busy nor packed. Had to wait about 20 minutes for a table that was already empty -No complaints with the server. He appeared new and I will give him some slack -Food came out at a normal pace. Not fast but not slow. Maybe leaning towards slow Food: 2/5 -We ordered various appetizers (nachos, quesadilla, dips) and they were all less than stellar. If you read the other reviews you'll notice the food isn't really made from scratch and you can definitely tell -I ordered the ribeye steak medium rare and it was cooked between medium to well done. Needless to say I was not pleased but didn't want to send it back because I was hangry I won't be coming back to this location. read more

When I walked in with my wife, the place was packed. After eating there, I can see why. It's a quality place to visit. I loved my Monte Cristo sandwich, which was deep fried to a golden brown yet warm and melty inside. The drinks were well mixed too, and it was all very affordable. The young lady at the host stand had a very disgusting attitude. As we walked into the establishment she rolled her eyes and sucked her teeth. Cheddars is one of my go to restaurants whenever I'm meeting friends out. The atmosphere is casual, the drinks are cheap, and the food is satisfying. This particular location is known for its mediocre service and long waits, but since I know this coming in, I'm not fazed by it. After a 20 min wait, my party was seated and our waitress was quick to take our food and drink orders. My drink wasn't tasty at first, but it definitely got me to where I wanted to be, so cheers to that! My order of fish tacos was delicious as always and my fries were hot and fresh. Yeah. I go to Cheddars for the Monte Cristo and it was pretty good at this location but not the best. The establishment smelled 'unclean' and there was construction in the parking lot. The service was good. 4-star if the store would have smelled better and felt cleaner. 5-star if the food and the service (which were both above adequate) would have been outstanding. read more

My fiancé really wanted Cheddar's so we decided to go tonight. We tried to go a month ago and looked online and everywhere and said they closed at 9, and it was barley 8. When we got there no one was at the host stand and it looked like they had already closed the restaurant for the night except for Togo. So we decided to try again tonight. We got there about 7:20 and were told there would be a 45 minute wait even though there were only a couple of parties ahead of us but she said it actually probably wouldn't be that long and it didn't, only had to wait about 15 minutes which was great! We were sat and when the server came by to get our drink orders we were ready to order. I ordered an appetizer and NEVER got it. I never saw him to ask about it before our food came out. Once he dropped off our food he never came back and checked on us. Both of our drinks were empty for over 15 minutes and we both needed some condiments to go with our meal. I went ahead and finished eating so that my food wouldn't get cold. He finally came by and brought us refills, and my fiancé was almost full, so when he asked for salt and pepper he barley ate any bites.
