Signature Soup - Baked Potato Soup
    Elisa M.

Cheddars is always a fun spot to grab a bite to eat. I will say that at this location the bar can get a little rowdy, so if you are looking for a peaceful meal, don't sit in the bar area. On this evening, I was looking for something easy on my stomach. I'm not a soup person, but hands down any day if the week, I'll have a bowl of the potato soup with the honey butter croissants. It's flavorful, filling and just yummy. I usually get a salad, the monticristo, chicken tenders or chicken fried steak but like I said, I was looking for something to calm my belly and this definitely did the job.

Another exciting review just for you! We normally visit during the lunch hour, but our daily routine has changed a bit. Honestly, my husband loves Cheddars. I just like to see our best manager, Lisa, here just to chat and have fun. So today, we came at 6ish and the only seating was in the general restaurant area. Ok. We just wanted to get out and again, he loves this place. So, I focus on service and food. We aren't rushed. We were given the pleasure of being sat in Jasmine's area. If I could tell you and make you realize that Jasmine is one of the best servers we have had ever in any outings, you might catch the itch to visit. Sweet, funny, attentive and everything that makes a night worth going out worth while. Hubby had chicken tender platter with red beans and rice and corn. I had a veggie plate. The salad was subpar, but I don't mind. Don't eat a lot so I just ate my broccoli cheese casserole and carrots. Brought the potatoes home for my kids. Had a cheddar bit appetizer which was just ok. It was a family night for sure. Based off Jasmine's service, we will seek her out again. BRAVO JASMINE. Managers need to give kudos and spotlights to employees who go above and beyond. Grow your people. It's contagious.

I haven't been to Cheddar's in a while & I was pleasantly surprised! The fish was fresh and not fishy at all, the veggies were good and that bread is delicious.

This was my first time ever to visit and find at a Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen. We arrived as the restaurant opened for business for the day. We were promptly greeted and seated a a both. Our server was Ms. Shamekia, with a bubbly personality and warm smile. She served out drinks and took our order and served us honey butter croissants. We had the chips and chips $9.49 and Dijon chicken and mushrooms on a bed of rice with two sides, $14.79. The food was very tasty and good size portions. So overall I had good experience for my first time visit. I will be back again. Hope to see you there.

Salmon and salad $12.99 not worth it. Grilled Salmon.

The service was slow and the food was bad. I tried the non-homestyle chicken pot pie and over cooked and unseasones broccoli. Sent it back. Ordered the salmon and salad. The food came so late that I requested the salad be put in a Togo box. The food presentation was lazy. They need to rethink that entry for that price. I do not plan to eat there again. I got food at home.

Cheddars used to be amazing. The prices got higher, portions smaller, waitstaff unfriendlier.

The Cajun Kitchen has been here in the Red Bird area of Oak Cliff for 10 years and this was our first visit. Only open M - F from 11 - 5:30p, this is a busy place. Nearly everything is cooked to order. The Gumbo was terrific. I like mine with okra and peppers and onion that I can SEE and it didn't have that, but their smooth spicy dark roux was delicious. I counted 6 large perfectly cooked shrimp in my pint of Gumbo with some diced chicken and sliced sausage and little bits of ham. I also like garlic bread. But honestly, it's hard to be too picky with something this good! Pint - $10.99 Next time, I'll just get it to go and do what I want to it at home. Lol. We also had the posted special - the Catfish Special for $10.99 The Catfish is some of the best that I've had in awhile! The cornmeal is seasoned to perfection, then the fish is fried to perfection and gently cradled on a slice of wheat bread. Um hm. Wheat bread. OMG. Two perfect pieces were served with some AWESOME red beans and rice. I just wasn't feeling fries and a substitution was made for the most glorious red beans and rice! So very good. A can of soda or bottle of water is included. Whole pickled jalapeños are available for 59 cents each. Yes! Have to have some of those, too. I stuffed myself and then took the rest home. As did my husband. For whatever the dining room may have lacked in ambiance, it more than made up in a good time. The A/C was good, the tables were comfortable and the service was friendly, kind and helpful. There's plenty of parking. They have to go and pick up spaces for food out front. BTW There's both baked and fried fish and chicken which sounds amazing. I hope to try both!

It was ok. It is dark inside. But I love the sit in your car and order and they bring it out to you.read more

Initially, the waitress was able to pull some tables together for us, but we still needed spots for about four more people in our group when we suggested pulling over one more table. She seemed to become frustrated and said she would need to run it by her manager. She brought us our drinks and then refused to take our order for a good 30 to 45 minutes. We could see her in the back, just playing on her cell phone. We tried to flag another waitress down but to no avail. Finally, after asking other staff members for assistance, another waitress who I believe was the manager, came over to serve us. She was very pleasant and kind. I tried the house omelette with hash browns, and it was extraordinary, really really delicious. The coffee also was extremely good. Several people in our group ordered the salads with lamb and those looked amazing. No complaints on the quality of the food. Everything was truly yummy. I'm glad the food was so good because it made up in some way for the poor service we received from our first waitress. I think the joke was on her though as we ended up leaving a large tip in cash.

Parking is very limited, but I was lucky to find a spot directly in front of the restaurant. It's rather small inside like most chicken shacks , but they did have a decent amount of seats / tables for those who choose to dine in or sit and wait for their order to be completed. Took about 20 mins for my order to be ready , I ordered the 2 piece fillet and 2 piece chicken combo that came with fries , bread, pickles and jalapeño peppers. I actually got 3 pieces of chicken instead of the 2 I ordered (thank you soooo much for that ). The Individual taking orders at the little window , didn't seem very approachable, but I guess that's normal in that particular area or so I was told. It didn't bother me much, especially because good customer service is hard to come by nowadays, and not saying that the customer service was bad here either. She was just straight to the point and I ain't mad at her for it either lol! The food was well seasoned , fresh , hot and crispy like I prefer it . Pricing was reasonable for the amount of food you get , paid around $20. If ever in this area again , and front door parking is available again . I'll definitely pull in and get me some more good cat fish and chicken. And they have crinkle fries too , those are my absolute favorite lol.

That's just greedy and unprofessional in this day and age when everything is debit, credit, or tap and cash is being phased out. ‍ The worst part is I've seen them quote a customer a certain amount for their order, the said customer looks at their receipt and then say why it is more and the cashier says oh we charge a fee if you don't pay with cash.
