Hadn't been to this location in several years, and tried it for dinner last night. Our waiter was very attentive, and the food was very good (house salad and DELICIOUS chicken pot pie for me, tasty buffalo tenders for hubby). But the conversation level was exceedingly loud. The restaurant is all hard surfaces, brick and wood, and the sound has no way to be absorbed. There were a couple of really boisterous groups near us and it definitely affected our enjoyment of the meal. We might try it once more, but if their clientele is typically this loud, we'll have to find another place. read more

I came to Cheddar's a few days ago with my mom and I must say the customer service is much better than the customer service in the Togo area. I called the restaurant today to place my Togo order and I was calling for a long time before a girl finally picked up the phone. She was very rude on the phone and this is not the experience I hope to be getting whenever I call and try to place a Togo order. Her attitude was horrible not to mention she was on the phone talking to someone else which is not your job. You are here to work and to be on the phone while you are supposed to be doing your job is the attitude of someone who obviously doesn't need to continue to work in this area where customer service is key. This happened in the evening around 6 or 7 pm on this Monday, July 12th. This girl had the nastiest attitude, placing me on hold to talk on the phone is something that I feel like an establishment should not allow and should immediately be handled. Tried Cheddars out when we first moved to Texas. Quite honestly this place isnt bad especially for a chain restaurant. Once in a while I get in the mood for some fish and I remember the fish options here (all two of them) were not bad. I do remember having to ask for more of the mango salsa because there were literally three little chunks of tomato and two of mango on the fish. Also, someone in the back of the house was a little heavy handed with the sauce once and my entree arrived swimming in a pool of it. So I started asking for the sauces on the side. The service is terrible! We waited 20 mins for a table. Not bad , but not great either . On the way to our table I noticed there were a lot of empty clean tables. This lead me to believe that there is a staffing problem! Once at our table it took an additional 23 mins for our waiter to arrive. He was in the area when we were seated . I don't understand why it took him so long to acknowledge we were there. Our food arrived in a timely manner however my nachos were cold and my onion rings were cold. My companion's food was hot. I was at this Cheddars on Feb.15th w/friends. I ordered an appetizer of chicken strips and water. I was talking and have fun and paid my ticket of $15 and some change. When I got home it registered to me what a minute I just spent 19 for an appetizer! So I immediately called the Cheddars and said you made a mistake and gave me someone else bill and I wasn't paying attention I was speaking to the manager Paul and he agreed that my bill should not have been that price and that he would credit me the difference of what I should have paid. I told him to leave the tip the same. So a week went by and I had the bill on my bulletin to follow up and still no results in my bank account. So I called again asked for Paul and he was not there so I spoke with manager Bill he was kind and said he would get with Paul to see if it was done because it only take 3 days and would call me back. Week passed Still on my bulletin so I CALLED back! Spoke with Paul again and he was oh I don't know what happened it should have been taken care of let me check and call you back. Another week pass still no results so I CALLED back and this time asked for the head manager of the restaurant which was Mark, told him the deal and he was oh that should not have happened and he looked up my receipt and gave me the detail on what I was charged for which was steak & shrimp with I do not eat! He apologized took my number and said he would handle it right now and call me back. Do you know I STILL have yet to receive a phone call or my money back! I called on yesterday Mar. 8th left a message with (can't think of her name right now but trust me I wrote it down!) to call me gave my name, number and brief reason for call. Because she said he was in a meeting and wasn't avail. at that time which was 4:50pm. Here it is about to be another 24 hrs. and I STILL have yet to receive a call or my money back! Really at this point it is the principal of the matter. That darn unresolved receipt is STILL on my bulletin almost a month later and no one care enough or have the management skills to do there job correct and stop lying to the customer. I will never spend another dime in Cheddars again! If my friends want to go I will go and sit there for the company and eat later. But my money NEVER will they get a dime! When we first got to this designated Cheddar's, it was slow, barely anyone there. We had a table of 6 and they told us it would be about a 10-15 minute wait. So we waited a good 15 minutes or so. When were finally sat we waited another 10-15 minutes for someone to greet us and take our drink order. The server took our drink order and appetizer order, then we waited another 10 minutes for our drinks and way longer for our appetizers. Probably a good 30 minutes for the appetizers. We finally got our appetizers and then the wait just got longer and longer. We watched plenty of other tables get their meals and come and go. The wait was getting ridiculous so I got up to see what the hold up was, finally the manager comes to talk to us and after an hour and a half of waiting we were finally told that there was a mix up in the kitchen with our meals. No one told us anything until we asked. No refills on our drinks the entire time we were there. The whole 2 hours. I ordered a chicken fried chicken meal and when it was finally brought to me, I was told there was no gravy. Which completely defeats the purpose in ordering that meal. My group and I had completely lost our patience. When we had talked to the manager she had told us that she would be taking care most of our tabs. When our tabs were brought to us not only were we charged for more than what we ordered, we did not get the 50% off we were told that we would get. It took 3 times for the manager to finally get our tickets correct. It was a hot mess. I've never experienced service like this before. I work in the service industry myself and I understand that it gets complicated, but WOW. The server was awesome. Worst experience with cheddars, 3 family went for the dinner. Total delay for the food was 1:30 hours. Kids food delayed again for 20 minutes. Normally any restaurants, kids will be served first, but this was not. Requested to talk to managers, but she was not ready to show up. Again after 20 more minutes she came up with too many lies like the table boy did not tell her to meet. She was a very rude lady with, I feel , she was a racist. She was insulting the whole families. I have eaten at Cheddars once before, a different location and my experience was a positive one at that location. I would never go to this location again. Over 30 minutes to recieve my appetizer. Over an hour to get our meal. I ordered steak and ribs. Steak ordered medium, came well done. They made the steak again (took an additional 25 minutes) and was still cooked well done. Ohter people ordered after us and ate and left and we still didn't have food. I am not sure if we were the wrong color at this restaurant or what the deal was. Spoke to 2 managers and they didn't really care. they only seemed to take notice when another waitress was insisting we take hot sauce that we did not order. Why would I want hot sauce when I have NO FOOD!!! The waitress is 'allergic to everything' so could give no recommendations. And she is allergic to coconut, so she couldn't even hand me my drink. I had to grab it from her tray. The carpet needed to be vacuumed terribly. The tile floor was greasy and you could easily slip. They did take $18 off the meal, not nearly enough IMO. Sad to say,I will not be returning to this establishment. My husband, daughter and I went for a visit a couple weeks back and we were treated rudely with a smile. Apparently the best time for us to eat there is during the day, as the night staff is prejudice and lacks some serious training in Customer service. Our first visit was met with disastrous results. First our server, who seemed nice enough at first, claimed she would take our appetizer order and entree order together. We declined because history has taught us that is rarely the case. Our drinks and appetizers were good, but then we watched a server walk one of our meals (we heard the server announce our meal and table number) to another table, then return it to the kitchen as that meal did not belong at the table to which it was delivered. Ashley, our server, came about 5-10 minutes later and said all 7 of our entrees will be out in a minute, coming out together. We asked if that one meal which was wrongly delivered 10 minutes ago was coming back after sitting under a heating lamp or did they remake it. She didn't answer the question and deflected. I called her out and asked her to answer the question; She was obviously lying in her response, which I again called her out on. Every time I called her out I was very friendly and non-confrontational. She then gave an attitude and strolled away. We then saw the same exact plate of food, now 15 minutes old, (could tell it was the same because of a identical plate smear with the sauce), was delivered to our table. Five out our seven entrees were cold and the casserole was running like a soup. The General Manager, Brent Applewhite, was awesome and handled everything professionally and tactfully. This place is so cramped you can't hear yourself think or talk to your family over the sound of the other very loud customers. Being someone that has serving experience I figure it's normal to prebus the table, or start cleaning off the table once dishes are done being used, and refill drinks without asking. Our server did neither and being at such a small table, there was hardly any room for us to eat. She was not polite. She hardly paid attention to us. Another server was running food to the large party behind us and dropped a great deal of tortilla chips on the carpet and left them there. First of all- I never give reviews but today I must. I have never experienced service this bad before at this restaurant. I love cheddars and its our favorite place to eat but we are from Oklahoma and is new to this place-- We arrived at 8pm, informed them 16 guests-- we knew there would be a wait we understand that because we were a large group. But not this long! We ended up sitting down 1 hour and 30 minutes later (9:30) waited 10 minutes to get our drinks ordered. Lady waitress quit us guess felt uncomfortable then another waiter came he got frustrated bec too may drinks errors. 3rd waiter was nice. we were able to ordered our food.... guess what it took them over an hour to serve us--my meal was half cold! 11:30 we finally left. what really ticked me off is when i told the waitress we been here since 8 she said "we Busy" and walked off but they werent too busy to manage to serve 5 other tables that came in hour after us and left before we got our food. My party and I arrived at this location at 8pm. We place our name on the waiting list and was told that it would be approximately a 45 minute wait. We were buzzer number 78. We did not get seated till 10pm. During the wait we inquired about the wait time several times and even spoke with a manger that just gave us another failed time limit that they did not meet. All customers that was on the waiting list before us, after us, and that signed up around us was seated prior to my party being seated. When we first arrived at the restaurant the entire bar area was dirty and was empty. After they cleaned it up, they seated parties that came after us instead of us. All three of the hostess did not seam like they were concerned about our concerns and had bad dispositions. Once it was time to seat us, they then took us to a section of booths and split our party up diagonally across from each other and did not inform us that is what they were doing or give us any options. Remind you, the entire lower level of the restaurant was almost empty, and another section in the upper area. So we made it work although we were not pleased. It took our server over 10 minutes to finally greet our first table, and almost 20 minutes to greet the second table. We placed our drink and food orders together at this time because, technically, the restaurant was closing at this time. It took 20 minutes or more for our tables to receive the appetizer and drinks. I was siting at the second table and our drinks that we ordered did not come out till after our food at had arrived. Remind you the appetizers had just been served approximately 10 minutes or less before. During this entire time we saw our server maybe 3 times and every time she left it took 20 minutes for her to come back by. At this time it is after 11pm and our drinks for most of the guest are not good, watered down. The food order on most of the first table was wrong and most of the party did not eat the food or complete their meal. It took forever to get a member of management to the table once requested. Remind you at this time the restaurant is mostly empty. Our server returned to cash out the table behind me and she was bad mouthing the other table of my party. I over heard the conversation and we found that to be very tacky. On top of that, when she was cashing our table out after dealing with another 20 minutes of getting the receipts and the issues fixed by management, she asked "did everything come out ok on your table?" We responded for the most part. She then stated, " ok, I do not know how everything was ok on your table, but no on theirs." Remind you we are apart of the same group of people. Not smart! During all of time we were waiting on food and other things, we saw hostesses walking around the restaurant eating in front of the guest, on facetime, and walking in and out of the kitchen area with long hair down and not pulled back. There are so many things that went wrong that this is the reason why I stopped being a customer of this franchise. That location is completely out of control.
