The worst restaurant experience I have had in Killeen and I have been here since 2017. The restaurant reeked of dirty water, waitress took forever to come to our table, and you could tell the floors hadn't been swept in hours! I felt bad for taking my son here for his birthday. The food was cold and decent at best, I would have had a better time just making steaks at home. This place use to be a really good spot to visit but recently it has fallen off. They don't even play all of the NFL games, nor do all of the TV work. Regardless if you want to be surrounded by dirty tables, floors, etc you wont mind this but this place really needs to get it together. I visited Cheddar's for a 74th birthday dinner with my family today, and what should have been a simple celebration became a completely unacceptable experience. Our server referred to my cousin as "Pookie," which is not only unprofessional, but also tied to negative stereotypes -- including a well-known drug-addicted movie character. That is not her name, not a term of endearment, and certainly not appropriate for a professional environment. Being addressed like that in public was offensive, disrespectful, and beyond inappropriate. When we informed Manager Rebecca, things only went downhill. She offered to comp the meal, but the problem was never financial. It was about basic respect and proper handling of a serious concern. She assured us she would "take care of it," yet we watched the same server continue serving other guests as if nothing happened. Instead of demonstrating leadership, she switched our server and chose to send an African American server to our African American table. That decision felt stereotypical, tone-deaf, and created even more discomfort. When I got home, I called to get the server's name for my review. Suddenly, no one seemed to know who I was referring to. I asked for Rebecca, and she refused to come to the phone -- even after THREE call attempts. I spoke with Mia and Dearius and could never get the manager on the phone. At that point, it was obvious she never intended to address the situation. She simply said whatever she needed to in the moment to quiet the issue. There was never an apology from the server!! Let me add cold food and orders were mixed up. That really let us know it probably would not be addressed. A birthday dinner should never end with this level of disrespect and frustration. I will be emailing corporate, because the way this was handled -- and then ignored -- is unacceptable and unprofessional. Looking for a sweet, light, and fluffy croissant then come here! The croissants here are always fresh and very yummy. The buffalo shrimp is a good thing to grab for an appetizer. One thing I have noticed is that my salmon whether its the 5oz or 8oz the proportion is not a good size. I always het the bourbon glazed salmon by the way which is sweet and flavorful. Another issue I have at this location is the teaspoon of rice they place under the salmon.. it's barely a cup of rice to be honest. Even though you can choose two other sides I still feel that a bed of rice should in fact be a bed of rice and not a pallet. 04/13/2025 I went to the restaurant on this date with my family. It was one of the worst dining experiences I've ever had in my life. The service was utterly abysmal. The food came out cold, lukewarm at best. My steak had sat so long, it cooked beyond what had been ordered. Everyone except two people at the table were disappointed with their meals. The tea wasn't sweet. We had to get the manager to place an order, and another server who was cleaning to place an order for dessert. Our server treated us like we were a plague. It was really disappointing. I don't know if I will be back. Edit to add: the drink order took forever, it wasn't correct. We also didn't get the croissants until at the end of our meal, at which time we simply requested them to go. It took over 5 minutes when requested for a lemonade refill, delaying us from getting out of the restaurant. No one else got a refill with their dinner. read more

The Car-side service at this location is more than horrible. The food is usually good, however, I told myself I was going to stop leaving a tip when paying for car side online because of the times I arrived and had to go inside to get my food. Today was no exception. I arrived, checked in, and waited outside for more than 15 min before finally going inside to get my food. I've eaten here a few times, and while not spectacular in the area of service, it was an enjoyable experience each time. Until Jan 19, 2025. Got there around 4pm, not too busy. Was 5-6 minutes before I received my ice tea from when I ordered it. Finally ordered my country fried steak 5-6 minutes later. It took 35 minutes to get my food. All the while I need a refill, but the co bartender or whatever is conversing with other employees and watching the NFL playoff game instead of serving guests. So, I ate my red beans and rice, mashed potatoes, and half my country fried steak and then began the process of trying to get my ticket and check out. The gentlemen who did refill my drink and process my payment did the best he could, as the evening rush came in and the other guy who never did anything finally disappeared. We're trying to start a new tradition so the family and I went here for Christmas Eve dinner, something that we all like and is reasonably priced. Considering the time of day, I'm surprised there wasn't a wait. We were immediately seated and our waiter was very friendly and attentive starting us off with the best buttered croissants! I always want to try something new whenever going to Cheddars but somehow I seem to always get the Bourbon glazed salmon with a Caesar salad and baked potato. It is to die for! The glaze adds the right amount of sweetness (if you love sweet) to it and the salmon was baked perfectly, nice and flaky. I also decided to order the pain killer. Be careful with this one, it's only limit two per customer! Several times Our order has been wrong and I let it go but this time on 29 April 2026 I ordered salmon with shrimp and the white fish I also ordered a side of rice and a side of coleslaw. What I received was Salmon with no shrimp and two side orders of coleslaw. My husband wanted his Shrimp that day. and I wanted my side order of rice so we called to Cheddars was put on hold. Several people picked up the phone at different times and we retold the incident to them and each one said that they would get the manager we stayed on hold for about 30 to 40 minutes and then someone hung up the phone. We ate what we had and then we decided to drive back to Cheddars when we got there the manager asked us did we call and we said yes, but we was put on hold And after 30 to 40 minutes someone hung the phone up. They did offer to give us the shrimp and a side of rice. I just feel like something else should've been done She could have offered us a dinner voucher, they could've offered us a drink while we wait for them to prepare the missing food. they could have discounted our meal. But no consideration was made to the fact that we had to drive back to the store and pick up food that was missing. I'm not looking for anything for free as I said this happens quite often and this time I want to speak about it and I just feel like if someone has to get in the car and drive back to the Restaurant there should be some kind of compensation for that. read more

This was only the second time having Cheddar's ever and I'm hooked! I placed an online order this time and everything was packaged perfectly and labeled. All condiments were there and my order was accurate which is rare these days!the prices are very fair and the employees were friendly! I was also extremely impressed with the buffalo chicken wrap as it had a good amount of chicken and wasn't mostly empty again as you get at other places these days. I saw the PainKiller (PK) pictured on the menu and asked for one, alcohol free (because of current medications). It would be great to have a fruity drink vs. the normal tea, soda, or water. I told her 3 times, no alcohol; she stated she would make sure each time. It would be a fun virgin juice treat. Again, the waitress stated it would be alcohol free. This was ordered at the very beginning of the meal. I got it of the way through the meal. Took a long drink, and it was nothing but alcohol!! I sat it aside. Told her to take it away & why when she came back, and she said she didn't hear me say alcohol free??? My daughter quickly stated, "Oh yes, she did, and multiple times." My daughter, a server once upon a time, mentioned she, the waitress, seemed disengaged while writing and automatically just wrote items down without paying attention to the conversation. I stopped going to Cheddar's 20 years ago . The staff back then were fabulous, 100% committed to making Cheddar's and great dining experience, but to the food was another experience going from 95% fabulous to 40% poorly made, poorly tasting The food was the same, and the staff experience has drastically diminished. Other than doing a mediocre job right when a food establishment just opened its doors at 1100am, it is not an excuse to not be disengaged from doing what person's are paid to do. There was a miscommunication about something that we ordered and when I called him over to explain, he was very much like "what do you mean, it's this" and when I asked him to clarify he had a "duh" attitude like of course I don't know, please instead of acting I'm like dumb for not knowing, explain it to me. She gave us menus and poof, she was a ghost again. By the time she came back, the other two had been finished their salads. So we just sat there with menus watching them finish their salads as they felt bad that we had nothing to eat. One of the worst experiences I've ever had at a restaurant. Not only was the restaurant clean and comfortable, the food tasted wonderful and the service could not have been better. It was my daughter's sweet 16 birthday dinner. She ordered a steak and it was cooked perfectly. Our apps were fantastic. All the food was hot, flavorful and juicy!! Our waiter Francis was kind and attentive from the moment he greeted us. Quickly moving us to a different table per our request without making us feel like a bother. He was so friendly, quick, inquisitive and super thoughtful with the birthday dessert. He was outstanding. Another waitress her name was Lola, she was incredible as well. She was not even our server but she made a trip to our table just to give my grand baby some stickers.
