Upon entering I was greeted and seated almost as fast as I came in, so I assumed it would be a great start. I was wrong. I sat at my table for 15 minutes before a server even came to my table. So the server finally came after me seeing literally 8 servers pass by with now one saying anything. I had a horrible experience at this Huntsville location yesterday. I took my family there and was "greeted" by the rudest hostess I have ever encountered. She came to the desk ,rolled her eyes at us and bucked her head towards me as though she was disgusted by our presence. We told her there are 3 to be seated . She then stared my brother down while gathering the menus. She proceeded to take us to the back of the restaurant where it appears she seated most of the African Americans in the restaurant. My father stated he didn't want to be seated in the back. I asked her is there somewhere else we can be seated. She stood looking at the floor for about a minute before she simply shook her head "no." I repeated the question and she just shook her head "no". So we decided to leave. One the way out I asked her the name of her manager. She only gave me a first name. I asked her for the last name and she claimed she didn't know his last name. Another waitress was passing by and I asked her the manager's name and she also claimed she didn't know who the manager was. I found an African American waiter who actually knew the manager 's name. I did speak with the manager who offered to seat us wherever we wanted but when I went to get my family and bring them back in to be seated, we stood there for a few minutes with no manager to be seen. Needless to say, I will not return to Cheddars in Huntsville Alabama .In 2023, this foolishness will not be tolerated. I really wanted to like this place. We've done take away before which was delicious. But sitting down inside wasn't the best experience. It was busy on this visit but this shouldn't mean that the service should be any less. We waited an ok amount of time to sit down. We waited about 5 minutes before our server walked over to greet us. We ordered drinks and an appetizer. Our appetizer came before we got our drinks. We saw our server a total of 4 times the entire time we were there. One of our meals was a ribs and shrimp plate but the shrimp were missing and we had to ask for the shrimp to be brought out after. Overall, good food but bad service. I have to admit this is a hard review to write. On one hand the food was excellent, on the hand the service was horrible. My dinning companion and I was near the UAH and decided that we wanted to stop by for a Sunday evening meal. We are a busy couple, lots of activities through out the week so we tend to eat out more than we do in, so we have seen all levels of food and service , but Sunday night was just plain bad. I should have known it was going to be an interesting evening when the gentleman setting next to us at the bar had to continually ask about his order, and when in came, he very politely continued to ask for salt/pepper/hot sauce and not to mention the missing gravy that he had ordered with his dinner..... His departing comment to me was "Good Luck"... I am understanding when a restaurant is understaffed or has other issues but Sunday night the Bartender assured me that it was not the case, she was just behind.... Well, we could never get a wet cloth to wipe the bar area down that we were at for some time. When she finally brought our menus, we had to shout our orders across the bar as she stood in front of the kiosk and entered our request. Fortunately our orders came out correct and the food quality was there. I had the Shrimp and Chicken Combo and my Dinning Companion had the Chicken Finger Platter... All the food was prepared correctly and the chicken was not dried out, tender and tasteful .... But alas the service stayed below par. While we dined, at least two couples left because they could not get any service. I requested an additional adult beverage half way through my meal and my dinning companion requested a refill as well, neither was ever received . The Bartender was polite and kept telling us we were going to receive our next request, but they never came.... Sorry to have to give them only 2 stars.... I eat out for convenience, to enjoy my companion's company and that of friends, to relax and not face the prep, cooking time and clean up that eating in causes... but when service is non existent , then I am robbed of the enjoyment of a dining experience .... read more

What was a BIG red flag was the manager climbed on the table in a booth to change a light bulb & was assisted by the host. I've been a fan of Cheddars for a long time, so I was interested to see if their curbside service would match up to prior experiences of sit-down dining. I will say, they followed all of the instructions I left on my mobile order and didn't forget anything down to the plastic ware and extra sides of ranch. I ordered the chicken tenders with fries and broccoli and cheese casserole with ranch dipping sauce. Their ranch is always delicious and tastes homemade and the flavor of the meal did not disappoint. However, the food didn't travel too well. I'm not sure if the food was hot upon arrival but within the 12 minutes it took to get home my food was cold and a little soggy. I re-heated it in the air fryer and it was back to the meal I knew and enjoyed each time, but wouldn't prefer curbside again unless ordering a different meal that travels better. Ahhhh Cheddars :( I love you so much. Why do you always have to be so bad to me. The first time we came here we had Kennedy as our server. Boy was she rude! It took her 10 minutes to greet us. Why? It wasn't even busy as we came around 2:30pm. She was a miserable waitress. She seemed very annoyed the entire time. I didn't want to go back there ever again but my husband really liked the food so we gave it a second chance. It was much better and we really liked our server Michael. I thought that this place was a go as long as we avoided Kennedy. Nope! We went in today around 1:30pm. Went to the bar. Sat there for a good 10 minutes. No bartender. My husband went to the hostess and asked if we could indeed sit at the bar after waiting a good 5 minutes. She said yes. We waited another couple of minutes. I grew frustrated and went to the hostess and asked if there was a wait for a table. She said no and sat us in the bar behind a very large group when there were a ton of open tables that we would have preferred to be sat. Certainly nobody could see us and we were very claustrophobic sitting there. I grew enraged while we were waiting for our server, the bartender finally comes out! People had just sat down and she was already serving them. I was going to get up and go back to the bar when our server Justin came over. We put in our order. We were not comfortable where we were sat so we decided to move up to the bar. The bartender was extraordinarily rude! Then she had the nerve to whisper about me to her coworker while starring at me. I told her that we wanted to sit at the bar and she was nowhere to be found. Her excuse was that she was in the restroom. Whatever! She made our meal terribly uncomfortable. This is obviously a trend! The food and atmosphere are great, customer service is seriously lacking. I am happy at least Justin was very nice and treated us well. I honestly didn't want to go here but my companions did not provide me with any other choice. Here's the gist of my experience: The honey croissants were good. We each only got one though... I ordered a raspberry lemonade and the bourbon glazed salmon with mashed potatoes and coleslaw as sides. The lemonade was drinkable, but my roommate's Arnold Palmer was not good in the slightest. As for my food, the salmon comes with rice as well as my sides. The salmon also came with extra glaze and a lemon which was a plus. I still needed more lemon, but the salmon was good. The rice was noticeably salty, which was unnecessary since the salmon had enough. The mashed potatoes were good, but the skin was in it so they should use red potatoes instead of brown. The coleslaw was good as well. Overall, this was a decent and filling meal for a small woman. I'm not sure if this was because I ordered one of their better options? I would recommend this specific menu option if you plan to visit. read more

I honestly hate to write this review. But, I don't know when I have had a less pleasant experience and a Cheddar's. We've dined at Cheddar's for many, many years and generally enjoy them very much. However, this particular location was not a good experience at all. I ordered my old standby, country fried steak. I can't even tell you how long it took for the food to finally come out. When it did, the steak was fried to a solid mass. It was like trying to cut through a football helmet. The meat inside the breading was petrified. The food was half cold, and the green beans were so husky I was constantly having to spit stuff out and put it on my plate. The service was slow as molasses. I had to sit at the bar as I was dining alone, and there were only a few people sitting at the bar. But still, the bartender does have to prepare drinks for all the servers as well, and I do understand that. But they should have had someone to expedite the food from the kitchen to the customer. At least, that's how we've always done it in any restaurant I worked in. Anyone who is free would take the food from the kitchen to the customer so they could get it as quickly as possible and hot. That was not the case today. Bottom line, based on my experience today, I honestly am very unlikely to even want to return to this location. It just was not a good or pleasant experience at all. Just threw away 21 bucks for lunch. Next time, I'll go elsewhere and just get a burger. read more

Ordered the shrimp and chicken with broccoli casserole and fries. I'd say everything was room temperature. Chicken piece is sort of a processed patty. Reminded me of a processed Tyson patty. Fries were room temp, that made them especially bad. But the shrimp did have a nice spicy flavor, but once again room temp. We also had the Caesar pasta chicken salad. Overall salad was good but once again the chicken was some sort of processed chicken patty sliced. Definitely don't have Cheddars on my return list. Where do I start...the waiter who was snapping at the other waiter, the cloudy fish water, the cockroach running across the table or the manager who said they can't control pests? I have been to this establishment many a times while in the area, honestly have never been a major fan, but it's a solid establishment. We stopped in after bowling at 845 pm Tuesday. It was quiet but we were able to get a full meal. They close at 10 pm but we stayed later with no problem. Had salmon with rice $11, steak and salmon with shrimp. I did not like true shrimp because it was fried. My error. Rebecca did a wonderful job of serving us drinks and appetizers. The girls ordered Tea flavored drinks Strawberry and pineapple tea. Good place for grand children and the young. Dang it, I really hate to fuss.. My worst ever experience at Cheddars. I came in, tired from a long work day, hoping to get a meal to go in a timely manner. Was here 22 minutes, sitting at the bar, before my order was taken. The carry-out server said if the order was big, I'd need to go to the kiosk to place the order. He did produce a pad and wrote it down. Did get a beverage at 8 minutes. After finishing it, pushed the bottle forward and waited 10 minutes for the bartender to come back around. Asked about happy hour specials, nothing. Asked basic draft pricing (Bud Light) and bartender wasn't aware and had to look them up on the screen. Received food at 53 minutes after entering. Had to wait 11 minutes, with food getting cold, for the bartender to cash out. The one redeeming factor, the initial food was good, even though not at peak temperature. Cheese curds barely warm when I got to the car. We'll see about the rest when I get to the hotel... read more
