First red flag: at 6:00 the parking lot is not that full. We sat in the bar. The bartender would not make eye contact with us. Waited 15 minutes while he complained that "he was the only one working" and literally received 0 help from anyone in the restaurant while he made drinks and changed a keg. We finally walked out after 15 minutes of not even being acknowledged. The guy had a lousy attitude, especially not serving ANYONE sitting at the bar, but shame on a manager for not helping the guy out. Ridiculous, I'm here pretty often and the service is going down hill. Pretty poor management and the staff seems to be following the lead. read more

Update time! It's a chain blah blah blah and I am aware but I must say this is has to top the list as one of my favorite chain restaurants!! Sometimes I forget how good it is and I stay away for a little while and then going back I am reminded how I love it so. First of all the spinach dip is to blame for my overindulgence in college and yet and still it is my GO TO guilty pleasure today. I mean it has the most perfect blend of just about everything and then a huge dollop of sour cream on top. Oh happy day. Whatever you do please do not turn down a honey drizzled croissant. It will change your life and you will remember it for the rest of your life. Get these two things then if you have room in your tummy get an icy margarita and then really you could call it a day. Due to the fact that you are likely over your macros and calories or whatever you count for the day haha. Whenever I want a cheap satisfying meal I will add on the vegetable plate. The honey carrots and broccoli cheese casserole you will also want to keep on the list. You cannot go wrong with anything on the menu and this location is always serving it up hot and fresh. It also stays busy so get there early or on a work week night it won't be as crazy. I enjoy popping in to sit at the bar and watch the games while I dine. read more

My wife and I used to eat here quite a bit several years back. Food was usually always good. However, the past few years we have rarely eaten there as the quality has gone down down They used to have very good chicken pot pies. Not anymore. They taste terrible. To start off it wasn't a bad start, they told us it would be a 20 min wait which was fine at 8:20. We didn't get seated till about 8:45, we then didn't see our waiter until 9:00.. we got the complimentary croissants then ordered our food and the croissants were rock hard and the butter was solid as well. I asked for new ones and I didn't get them until 20 mins later and our food didn't get to our table until 9:34.. I had to send my "fresh broccoli" back because it was cold and had black stuff which I wasn't sure if it was mold or not. My fries were stale, cold, brown and my chicken tenders had cold dry sauce which means they had been sitting there for a while, I didn't even bother with those at that point I was hungry We then ordered a refill on our drink and our mango sweet tea had a piece of plastic in it.. Let me preface this review with we've been coming here since our 11 year old was in a baby carrier . We come here a lot . Even from the other end of town . Well tonight started off ok. Took a while for the waiter (Vinicio G.) to come but he did say he'd be right back . In the meantime husband and I took selfie (which later provided a timestamp. He came back, took our drink orders two sodas and two bar drinks . He took our food order as well and went on . My one side was a salad. Other side were green beans. . The sodas came out with two waters . No bar drinks . Eventually husbands drink came and we asked about my margarita. He said it would be right out . I could see the bar and no one was making it. After 40 minutes our food came (we did have the rolls pretty close to the beginning.) my food came out with the green beans , but I was so focused on the missing margarita , that I didn't realize that I was missing the salad until he brought it . By that time the other members of my table were almost done eating . He never came by to refill or check on us. We had to stop him so I could tell him to remove the drink since it never came . We kept checking the ziosk and the marg was not coming off . The next time he came by my husband said something about marg not coming off the tab and how there were three margaritas that were just made that went to another table. The waiter should have pressed the bar . We asked for a To go box but it took so long that we had to ask the hostess who gladly brought it since we never saw him again. They were not busy when we came in nor during the ordering process. People did end up starting to come in nearing the time the salad came , but they were there for a while . He was over tipped 5.00 on what would have been a 56.00 bill only because husband hates not to tip people. The marg ended up being removed from bill after we about exploded. read more

My husband and I had a gift card and decided to try out Cheddar's for a date night on Valentine's Day. The worst part was how busy it was and how close your tables were to your neighbors but otherwise we were pleasantly surprised how good the food was and how affordable! If you sign up for their emails online, the next day they send you a coup for free chips and queso. Not bad- not that I would go there specifically for it. I opted for the sangria- which came in a fish bowl type of glass. They said its a limit of 2 on the menu and they were not jokin'. Man was it strong- and very affordable. I think something like 5.99. I opted for the chicken fried steak for my entree (substituting the cheesy broccoli for the green beans) and my husband got the meatloaf with mac and cheese. The mashed potatoes that came with both dishes was excellent. The mac and cheese- eh could pass on that. The chicken fried steak was SO BIG I could not even finish half. My husband instead ate a good portion of that too- quite a winner and we both said we would get it again. His meatloaf was fine, but maybe not something we would get again. We opted to get a small dessert, it was some type of coconut cake, not bad for like $3-4. And my husband got an old fashioned for $5.99- again very affordable, though it seemed watered down he said. I think for all of this and the tip we only spent about $45. I mean can't get much better than that! I look forward to going back another time! Growing up I used to love Cheddar's. I know that the company has undergone some changes and the menu has changed losing some signature items, but overall after said changes they still remained a decent spot for dinner, or so I thought. I brought my brother by because he had never been and I told him of the onion rings tower (that sadly no longer exists), the deliciously light and buttery croissants, and a few of the other dishes. We were greeted by DJ T (his name on the receipt) and his service was alright at first. For appetizers we got the cheese bites and the spinach dip, spinach dip was okay and the cheese bites tasted alright but it didn't come with much. I understand portion control but it looked like someone was snacking on our plate in the back. I got the Monte Cristo and he got one of their burgers. The instant I grabbed my first french fry I knew something was up, it felt warm but like it was sitting under a heat lamp for a while. They were soft, not crisp at all, and not salted but still hot. So maybe they were made a long time ago and just kept hot under a heat lamp. He had the same issue with his fries, burger tasted alright he said. The Monte Cristo, which I would hope was freshly fried, was just like the fries. Not crisp outside at all. Soft but also hot? The fried batter was chewy. Absolutely not how it should be! Back to the service. I asked DJ T for more water during our meal to which he said okay, but then he didn't come back for another 10 minutes. I'd understand if it was peak lunch hour but he only had like 4-5 tables in his section probably, so like why does it take so long for a refill? We both were pretty done with our food pretty quickly. He only took 2 bites and I had to force myself to eat half my monte Cristo. I figured if I took the food home and air-fried the sandwich and fries they would actually taste good. When the server finally came by the table ( he only came by maybe twice, very very spaced spaced apart) we asked for two to go boxes. He dropped them off and didnt even say thank you or have a nice day. Just dropped them off. Overall NEVER coming back to Cheddar's! Bad service and very lackluster food. I usually have a pretty decent experience at Cheddar's, no matter which location I have dined at in the past. This time at this location, not so much. My partner and I wanted someplace local and easy to eat, so we chose Cheddar's in Irving as we hadn't been there in a while. Upon entering this location, we were greeted by the hostess who advised it would be a twenty-minute wait for a table for two, or we could dine in the bar area, where any high-top table or bar seating is open, so we decided to go that route. We chose two seats at the bar, and the bartender acknowledged us by just handing us menus, without even a greeting. She had zero personality, acted like we were bothering her, and never smiled, or made us feel welcome. I'm not looking for the Ritz Carlton red carpet treatment, but c'mon lady, you're a bartender, what happened to your people skills? And then to witness you bickering amongst your coworkers about how drinks are made added to the abysmal experience. And we haven't even touched the food yet, which also did not meet our expectations. I ordered the full rack of the supposed fall-off-the-bone tender ribs that was claimed on their menu. I also ordered the Wisconsin cheese bites for an appetizer and my partner ordered the Creamy Garlic Tilapia and Shrimp. The Wisconsin cheese bites were lukewarm, to say the least. The ribs were extremely fatty, tough, and obviously reheated. The Creamy Garlic Tilapia and Shrimp looked nothing like what the menu pictured. I paid over $50.00 plus tip for an experience that will remind me to avoid wasting my time and money at Cheddar's. read more

We live close so we come here all the time. I did read some bad reviews but our experience here has always been good. That being said, I think there are several things you have to keep in mind. Las Colinas has quite a few businesses on the area and things get get packed during lunch and right after work for Happy Hour. Secondly, this place is reasonably priced for the quality of food. Things can get packed during peak hours. I also read some bad reviews about Take Out. But every time we have dined in, our server has fixed anything that was not up to par. The bathrooms can get a little messy when they get busy and probably don't get the attention that they deserve. But the food is good. I have heard that this location is The Corporate Training Center so they try to excel here. We had The Grilled Lemon Pepper Whitefish with Broccoli and a side of Mac and Cheese. The fish was flaky, the broccoli was fresh, and mac and cheese was creamy. We also had a Cheeseburger with Fries. The cheeseburger was simple but everything was fresh. We also had Side Salads with Ranch on the side. The salads were fresh and the the ranch was home made. They have the best Croissants that are made fresh as well. This place is good. It is not a fancy steakhouse with all the attention to detail. But is Home Cooking at a reasonable price. The place can get packed at certain times and their Take Out might suffer. The bathrooms get messy when the place is busy. But they keep customers coming back for the food. read more

Cheddar's has improved over the years with their rebranding as a scratch kitchen. I don't mean to be harsh here I'm just being real but even with the improvements they have now brought themselves up to average. I have been to Cheddar's a few times over the past few months because some of my co-workers really like the food here. After trying several things probably my favorite is the simply grilled salmon that comes with two vegetables. It is usually done correctly but they do have a tendency to over cook it so you might want to make sure when ordering that they know not to do that. My favorite sides with it already loaded baked potato and their broccoli cheese casserole. The service is usually okay nothing to write home about but also nothing really to complain about. It basically tends to fit the level of their food. Like I said I'm not trying to hate on this place I'm simply stating it's just okay. read more

I stopped by at this Cheddars after a long flight from Washington and chose to sit at the bar for a relaxing cocktail. I believe the bartender name was brianna { she was super rude to me) At some point it got so loud an chaotic that i thought a fight was going break out!!!! the lady behind the bar jumped on the bar cussing out a fellow customer the bartender was sooo unprofessional an other customers was tryin to claim her down the manager had noo control over the situation!!! Met a former coworker up here for lunch because they get you in and put, with good service even during the lunch rush. They do get packed so for lunch during the week, get there around 11:30 am. I had salmon, green beans and carrots. It was perfect. My fav place to sit down and eat & can actually get back to work in an hour. Firstly, I have always loved Cheddar's dine in. But they just can't seem to master the curbside concept. In the most recent three visits, they have failed to have everything in the pickup bag that was on the order. Missing cheese fries, missing half dozen croissants no garlic bread, and most recently no gravy on chicken fried chicken. It's never something major, just the little things that make a takeout order special. Again, GREAT food, but they really need get their act together for takeout orders! Excellent food and excellent place for family time! I came here with a party of 15 and we had such a great experience. Special shoutout to Nathan for being a great waiter and being hilarious! We didn't make reservations, so we had a 30 minute wait, which wasn't too bad. As soon as we got seated, Nathan took care of us by getting our drinks and asking if we had any questions about the menu. The food is very inexpensive and tasty. I highly recommend getting the honey butter croissants, they are flakey, hot, and oh so delicious. I ordered the 8 oz. steak with mashed potatoes and mac n cheese. I ordered it medium well, but my steak was definitely more on the rare side because it was bleeding. Nathan took it back and got me a new plate fast. Other people at my table enjoyed the combination meal with steak and shrimp, grilled salmon, chicken tender platter, and Bourbon-Glazed pork chops. For dessert, we got the hot fudge cake sundae. We shared this ginormous cake with everyone at the table and it was perfect! Overall, my experience here was excellent and I cannot wait to come back! :) read more

I placed an order on the app which works well by the way. Upon arrival I tapped the app and the order came out quickly. Here's the first problem. The numbered spaces for car service are on the side of the building and at night it's impossible to see them. That area needs better illumination. The server who brought the food out gave me attitude about not being in the correct space. She seemed like someone who really didn't like her job. I get that, but don't take it out on the customers, find something else to do. The second issue was with the order itself. I should've checked it before I left, which is why I didn't call back all angry. The salad from the order was missing. They packed the salad dressing but no salad. This was my first trip to this location and I doubt I'll go back. There's several restaurants in that same plaza so there's no need to go where people are rude. read more

They charged us a fee using the game tablet which wasn't even working. The manager said they will need to refund the full ticket and recharge without the game fee. Of course, that didn't happen! First things first. The burger I had tasted good. The steak my wife had tasted good. Now for the rest. My wife had ordered a pina colada, and it was mostly water. Very little rum, and not a whole lot of flavor. Additionally, the baked sweet potato that came with her steak was on the small side, but the flavor was good. I had ordered a burger with fries. I ordered it medium, and it came out closer to well done. Also, the burger came deconstructed. Normally that's not much of an issue, but the lettuce was finely shredded, so my fingers were messy even before I ate. Additionally, neither the burger or the fries had been seasoned with any salt. Now I realize that most folks, myself included, are sodium conscious, but to not have any salt? Finally to the service. I've had worse but not often. We had ordered the honey butter croissants as an appetizer. He forgot them. He also disappeared for a while. A long while. We waited a good fifteen minutes before my wife finally got up to find a manager for our check. To make matters worse, the manager tried to make excuses for the server. He indicated that he was waiting on a large party too, but they hadn't been there before us and the problems had already begun. I don't think we will be going back. read more

I liked coming here until a recent event that took place a couple weeks ago. I will no longer be coming here because I was charged extra dollars either by mistake or by someone committing fraud on my receipt by adding extra tip money. If you look at my pictures you can see that my original order receipt was $17.63, without the gratuity added. The payment notification receipt that I received a couple days later was $19.63. This means that someone added a tip to my transaction without my authorization, which is grounds for a lawsuit. I placed a to go order and scratched a line through the tip line when I signed the receipt so there was no room for error when finalizing the payments at the end of the night. Yet I'm still charged an additional fee. I called and spoke with the management to rectify the issue and to see what could be the cause of it, but that conversation went nowhere. The manager quickly became defensive and even rude. Basically telling me that because I didn't have the information she was asking for from my paper receipt (I threw it away the day I ate the food) that it wasn't much she could do even though I had email receipts showing the discrepancy. Also stating the transaction happened a long time ago so it's almost impossible to track down a record without that paper receipt, well only a week went by before I noticed the difference. That's not a long time for falsely being charged with something I didn't agree with. I had to get my bank involved for them to fix the issue for me because the management here sucks and needs more training on how to talk to people and how to use their systems. I ordered the food through their website paying with PayPal and the manager was rudely trying to tell me that I could not order food using a third-party site. All you have to do is look on the company website to see that you can. Stop trying to be right when you don't know what you're talking about. How can a representative be arrogant, rude, and WRONG. Until this restaurant is audited I will not be supporting them. Two dollars is not a lot of money to me but it's the principle. Without them being audited I suspect that a scam operation could possibly be going on here where random guests are mistakenly overcharged by just a few dollars. Not a lot to raise questions or suspicion but small enough to look past as a simple mistake. A few thousand of these $2 mistakes over a few months adds up to a lot of money. This is the first and will be the last time it happens at Cheddar's given the response I received from management. I'll take my money elsewhere and advise all others to do the same until they have been reviewed to make sure it's no scammers working here. read more

This was my first time eating at a Cheddar's Restaurant and the food was subpar tonight. My broccoli was not steamed enough, it was still too hard, my bf chicken looked old and dry and his green beans were not good at all. We heard we are not the only ones that complained about the food. That others had mentioned that the quality had declined a bit. My mashed potatoes were pretty good though. And our waitress was so awesome. She offered to take our stuff back and have it switched or steamed some more. We took her up on the offer to have the broccoli steamed some more. The service we received from our waitress was great. I wish I remembered her name to give her her props. But thank u girl for bringing us the butter and suggesting we add our own salt and pepper to spruce up the meal :) read more

While visiting Texas for the holidays, I visit this restaurant. I with a party of 7. We had no wait time which was great. The atmosphere was pleasant. This restaurant is definitely a family restaurant. I ordered a lunch special which was broccoli cheddar soup and meatloaf with potatoes. The soup was very tasteful but however the meatloaf was bland. Sadly, the restaurant smelled bad when I walked in. Upon opening the meals, they were both very soupy. The chicken tasted like it had gone bad so we didn't finish either one. The broccoli seemed to have been microwaved way too long also. Fortunately the green beans were cooked and tasty. read more
