Caesar salad and Buffalo fried shrimp
    Susan C.

The hostess sat us almost immediately after our arrival on a busy Sunday afternoon, and our meal began with a plate of warm, sweet croissants. Next came a tower of crispy battered onion rings with two dipping sauces. Absolutely yum! I ordered two sides for my entree: Caesar salad and Buffalo fried shrimp. The chilled romaine lettuce was mixed with a Caesar dressing and topped with a perfect amount of shaved Parmesan cheese and toasted croutons. Oh, and my shrimp--it was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right with Buffalo sauce and a ramekin of Ranch dressing. My spouse ordered a Monte Cristo sandwich where the meat and cheese had been expertly tucked inside hollowed-out French-type rolls. They were sprinkled with powdered sugar and served alongside a ramekin of what he said was some of the best strawberry jam he's tried. He chose a cheesy broccoli casserole for his side and had no complaints with that. Brooke, our server, kept on her toes with a roomful of diners, treated us as though we were the only patrons in the restaurant. She checked back with us several times, cleared used dishes off the table and filled drink glasses. Another couple dined with us, and the restaurant seemed in no hurry to turn our table. We sat and chatted for several minutes after finishing our meal. We will return.

The croissants are delicious. The pasta was good too. I didn't love the cheese dip and chips but the other food was good. The chocolate cake was huge. It was good with the ice cream, but by itself too rich for me. Service was good, our server was nice and conversational when he had time to chat between tables. We like the waterfall at the front and the fish tank. The ambiance is nice.

Food was very good snd the service was good as well. Only thing is the booths are really dirty and the machines in the tables need to be cleaned.

The specials offered that day at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen - 8390 Kingston Pike Knoxville TN

Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen is on Kingston Pike just below Bearden High School at the corner of Kingston Pike and Gallaher View Road. The have a wonderful menu with a wide variety of options, including my favorite, a chicken pot pie. We went for lunch and we're served mouth watering croissants with a honey, buttery glaze. They were light and fluffy and melted in your mouth. Meals were about $10-15; very reasonable for the area. We enjoyed a quiet meal and were able to talk and eat comfortably. Our waitress was excellent and the food was served quickly and steaming hot. Follow me on Yelp for more places to dine and shop in the Knoxville and East Tennessee area.

my husband and i went twice to cheddars. i can be a really really picky individual and it can take me a while to come up with something to eat. cheddars was incredible and i knew what i wanted in a matter of minutes. our service was awesome both times, we had a quiet girl the first time and a little bit more of an extroverted one the second time. i am horrible at names, please excuse me :( but i had a chicken pot pie that was so perfectly salted. like you know sometimes how it can come out SO SALTY because of the dough and the chicken and the mirage or veggies and stuff? THIS was perfect. the whole PLACE was perfect. even when it was busy? it was quiet. and i like quiet. i'm from chicago and sometimes all im looking for a in a restaurant was quiet. Cheddars in Knoxville was absolutely just that and i wish cheddars was in chicago / chicagoland.

Cazzy's Corner Grill - Feta Dip, I'm addicted to this deliciousness!

I liked the sauce on the pork and the sunny side up egg brought a good amount of yolk into the dish. Everything mixed well with the sesame flavored cucumbers and jalapeños. The rice was pretty plain but paired with everything else it was fine. I think I'll try one of the salads or power bowls next time, as they come highly recommended! I also had a bite of the smoked salmon from the power bowl and a bite of the chicken piccata. I normally don't like chicken piccata but the lemon and caper flavor did not overpower and the angel hair pasta was very soft. A bit on the pricier side for a lunch but I enjoyed what I had at Cazzy's. I hear both locations are very consistent as well.

We did not have any drinks but the offerings cover the local, standard and top shelf tastes. The staff is even invited to events to learn about food and drink parings. Lunch was grab and eat. It was very quiet becasue we were well past the lunch rush and before the early dinners. I needed something more than a salad or bowl even though several were tempting. Not always a burger guy, but a bison burger will draw my attention. You don't see bison much in TN. Delicious. Juicy enough I needed an extra napkin. The second reason I chose the burger was for the carrot fries. I don't ever remember having them before or even seeing them. Their good, no reason they can't be a replacemnt to traditional fries and they don't "sag" as much as sweet potato fries. In my case, the kitchen put potato fries on the plate rather than carrot fries. Our server, Daniel noticed it and brought out a separate plate with proper side. Great service there. Another upgrade is that seasoning on the fries. There are several different ones and they differ byt the dish and fry. It was fun to compare the difference on the plate. So, cazzy's is not at diner but a fine gastropub.

Now, the bread was fresh and warm which was a good thing. My Caesar salad was filled with brown and wilting lettuce, so the server returned it, but I'm shocked they would let that go out even at lunch. The hot honey chicken sandwich tasted fine, the chicken was extremely thin but at least they had two small chicken patties on there. The bacon had a nice sweetness with the honey and crisp to it. Overall the flavor was fine but didn't stand out compared to similar offerings from average chain restaurants. The cheeseburger was the definition of average. Barely seasoned patty and that's about all I remember. I could not taste the cider in the highly touted "cider slaw", and was hardly a cut above KFC slaw. Firebirds burned me out charging steakhouse prices for mid-tier chain quality. I have to hope it was just a bad day for them but will be hard pressed to return.

Unfortunately, the rest of the experience was pretty disappointing. The service was inattentive from start to finish. Our drinks sat empty for long stretches, the bread was hard, and my steak wasn't cooked anywhere close to how I ordered it. What surprised me most was that our server never once came back to ask how the food was or if everything was okay, so there wasn't really an opportunity to have anything corrected. It also felt like a missed opportunity that no one even asked whether we were celebrating anything. We were there for my brother's college graduation, and while I wasn't expecting free desserts or a big production, most restaurants at this price point at least ask the question. It would've been a nice touch and made the experience feel a little more personal. For a bill that came to around $250, I expected a much higher level of service and food quality. I don't mind paying for a great meal and experience, but this just didn't deliver enough to justify the price. It was my first visit - my family's third time. We drove over an hour to get there.

We waited literally 2-2.5 HOURS for our food, and after waiting that long, it still came out wrong. To put into perspective how ridiculously long it took, I literally left the restaurant while my friends waited, went shopping around the mall, went into Sephora, shopped for a LONG time, bought a huge haul, and came back. We had planned to eat dinner and then go shopping afterward, but by the time we finally finished and left around 9:30, the mall was closed. Our entire evening was basically spent waiting on this food. Then when the food finally came, my friend ordered pasta with chicken and they brought it out without the chicken. The chicken came separately later and was dry. My pasta came out extremely dry, basically like boiled noodles with shrimp and barely any sauce. I asked for more sauce, and they brought me this disgusting broth-like sauce. I asked for a different sauce instead, and they finally brought me a Cajun sauce that was actually better. Then our waiter tells me that the kitchen was frustrated with me??? Why are you telling a customer that when the kitchen sent the food out incorrectly in the first place? Then when we got the bill, I realized they had UPCHARGED my pasta because I asked for a different sauce after the original pasta came out dry. After everything that happened and waiting over 2 hours, we were still charged full price for everything, including our desserts. I spoke with the manager, who told me he had no idea about any of this and that they would comp my pasta, my friend's pasta, and our cheesecakes. We get the bill back and only MY pasta and MY cheesecake were comped. My friend's were still on there. So why tell me you're going to comp everything if you're not actually going to do it?? I was too angry to even ask them to remove it again and left. The craziest part was at the end. Our waiter had actually been good throughout the night, and I repeatedly told him I knew the kitchen issues were not his fault. Then, right before I'm about to tip him, he says to me, "Thanks, you messed up my comp numbers for the night." ???? I told him AGAIN that none of this was his fault, and he says well its still my comp numbers and explaining that it still affects his comp numbers and saying something about some bullshit competition between the servers?? Why the hell would you EVER say that to a customer?? Especially a customer who spent the entire night telling you I understood it wasn't your fault and was STILL about to tip based on the original total despite this horrible experience. I did still tip him 20% but wish i didnt. Blaming me because your restaurant had to comp food that THEY messed up was extremely disrespectful and completely changed how I felt about the service. Between waiting forever, literally having enough time to leave and go on an entire Sephora shopping spree, missing our chance to shop afterward because the mall CLOSED before we finished dinner, food coming out wrong and dry and disgusting, being told the kitchen was frustrated with me, being upcharged for sauce, the manager saying items would be comped and then not actually comping all of them, and then the waiter blaming ME for messing up his numbers. I'm done. I will never be coming back
