Went a couple weeks ago for lunch and had a wonderful time. We asked to sit in in the little side room to the left of the door as you walk in. Wanted to sit-in the last booth because we knew it was nice and quiet. Today got there and asked for the same. Female hostess said we could sit in that area but not that last two rows closest to the front door like before. We were told there was no server working that booth. We had to sit in a booth in that room right next to the server station. Not a quiet place to sit. I failed to see why some server couldn't walk 4 more steps to serve the booth we wanted. After we were seated several parties were seated "where they didn't have a server" within minutes of us being seated. Really? Food was excellent but never got a refill on our drinks and had to ask for the the croissants after our food came.It would be nice if there was consistency with the hostess and servers. read more

Used to be very good value (in general) & have a good value burger deal but raised burger price a significant percentage and now forces a side dish on you with your burger. Not sure if because bought by new company or not. Regardless, I ALWAYS seem to have problems and they never seem to be able to handle it correctly if you ask for anything that is outside the cookie-cutter norm for this SPECIFIC kitchen (which is ridiculous for a place that has Scratch Kitchen IN ITS NAME)!!! Digital coupons (having to provide special code numbers for each person in a party, etc.) Seem more trouble to use than having to do your taxes! I have heard the "I'll allow it THIS TIME" said like it is an act of congress for a manager to honor coupons. Always seems like some kind of drama. Just generally unneeded (not to mention embarrasing) ridiculousness! And still unable to get an actual slice of onion (from my prior review). They give me un-battered onion rings (that are cumbersome & easily fall off of the burger). A so-called "Scratch Kitchen" that can not provide a slice of onion to a customer???? The service is great! Tony was awesome and paid attention to detail. The food has been terribly mediocre since July. The smokehouse burger was dry. The pickles shriveled, the tomato slices looked like they had sat out for a while. The French fries were tough. It was really sad and a waste of money. Can't see bothering to go back. I usually enjoy the bill of fare at this trendy restaurant, but on a Wednesday evening I thought I would divert from my usual preferences and try the club sandwich. Big mistake. The sandwich bread was soggy and the preparer overloaded the sandwich with way too much meat. I would like to think the cook was new that evening because the wait was also extraordinarily long. We come here a lot and always have a good experience, it is popular so expect waits if you come at lunch or dinner times. The good side is they have a lot of seating so usually don't have long waits. Love the free croissants and their fish. read more

My first impression was that of a casual yet lively atmosphere. We were seated without waiting. And our server was prompt, virtuous, and friendly. Our food arrived suspiciously fast. I ordered the Shepards pie and my girlfriend ordered tilapia with mango salsa. Both were appropriately portioned, and were flavorful. The food was really good! Each person in my family enjoyed what they had ordered. The serving sizes were very big! Most of us had to get a to-go box because we weren't able to finish our food. We had the friendliest waitress ever. I believe her name is Abbigail and she made us feel so welcome. She knew the menu well and helped us select chicken tenders. So good. The warm croissants were the best ever and we almost didn't need dessert. But then the manager came by and said he'd heard this was our first visit and he gave us 2 warm mini "monster" cookies! So we arrive there and after ordering our food it took us an approximate of an hour and 30 minutes to even get our food the manager never came to our table the waiter herself was pregnant 12 hours working but still maintained attentive to our table she was awesome, but the cooks and the whole kitchen staff was horrible. I had to end my holiday food orgy and Cheddar's hit the spot. Do not go here if you are pressed for time or seeking a heathy conscious meal. This is a large portion, eat until you want a nap, kind of place. I was meeting a friend here I had not seen in quite some time. I told the server we will be tying up her table for a while and I will tip her well to compensate for the lingering. She was very pleasant and appreciated the "up-front" statement of intentions. If you like queso, who does not love that fat bomb, ask for the queso with ground beef. Most dishes are predictably good and there descriptions are accurate. I've eaten at this location approximately 6 times now since they've opened. Each time the food has been pretty good. One thing anybody will tell you about Cheddar's is that there is ALWAYS a wait, even at 3:00 in the afternoon. I'm not sure why they didn't make a larger waiting area. Each time we've eaten here we always felt very rushed. Once our orders get put in, the entrees always come out almost immediately after the salad and/or appetizers. So by the time our salads/appetizers are done the entree is cold. We have also had issues with servers not taking empty glasses or plates. One visit a few months ago we were with 2 friends of ours and were seated in the bar at a small corner table. At one point the 4 of us had 8 empty glasses stacked up very noticably at the edge of the table. The waiter came by twice before he ever picked them up. read more

Cheddar's has always been one of my favorite chains. This location was very nice on the inside with plenty of tables. Our waiter, Chad, was very friendly. Our drinks and food were brought out quickly. I ordered the lunch portion of the salmon and a baked potato. The salmon was a good portion for lunch, priced fairly, and the baked potato was good as well. A good place to stop in and grab a bite to eat if you're around that area. read more

We have eaten take-out from here about three times. We have always had a problem with our order (usually something missing or incorrect). We were finally given a gift certificate for a free meal based on multiple issues. Unfortunately, we lost it during a home move, then later found it. We called to see if we could use it to place an order (an order over the value, which we intended to pay for the balance) and was told no. Unless my mind changes, I don't plan to return. Wasn't thrilled with food quality either for the price you pay for it. :-( read more

Ok so I love the atmosphere, they literally could sell me a bowl of frosted flakes for $5.00 and I could eat it there and leave a $2.00 tip and be happy. However, here is what I would expect, frosted flakes that were not stale, milk that was not sour, and the waiter/ress to bring me a spoon and not a fork, see, I'm not hard to get along with! The "cooks" need to be dealt with, they need to take care of the back of the house. So what happened was I ordered the bone in ribeye medium rare and my sister ordered her ribeye medium rare as well. Staff forgot to ask us how we wanted it cooked so I flagged him down after 5 mins or so and told him we forgot to tell him how we wanted it cooked. So when they arrive sis's is perfect bloody pink and juicy medium rare, mine was purple and basically uncooked. So I told staff and was like just toss it back on grill and take away plate so they can serve it all hot again, so he is like, keep the sides and I will give you fresh sides when I bring it back. So I was splitting this with my girlfriend so half was to be to go, so I didn't dare eat all the so called comped sides as I had a feeling I would not be seeing any hot sides served with the steak when it returned. Sure enough he brings the steak back with the manager to stand over me to cut into it to see if it is done enough, which is was still purplish but better than raw so I went with it, and of course there were zero sides with it. So I was able to take a few bites of the ice cube carrots I had and the frozen broccoli cheesecicle along with my now sadly charcoaled on one side steak. So the "chef" (kidding) the min wage cook tossed it back on grill on one side only, never flipped it, so one side was charcoaled to the point of tasting like burnt frozen pizza crust, it was sad. So then I had to ask another staff for to go containers as our staff was hiding somewhere, then had to ask for bags for the boxes, finally when got the bill it was NOT itemized, was like here is your $70.00 check have a day. So life is not perfect, I get it, but the KITCHEN is a mess, the time before this I got a chicken bone in my pot pie, manager refunded even though I am not wanting one, so I gave the money as a bigger tip, bottom line is fire the non-cooks in kitchen. I don't want anything free, I want a place that has quality control and trained workers in the bag. Like I said I love the atmosphere just add frosted flakes at $5.00 a bowl I will be set. read more

8/18/19 We arrived at Cheddars on Kingston Pike about 11:30, before the church crowd had started to arrive. We ordered drinks, onion rings and queso and chips. The waitress brought our drinks and took our lunch order; philly cheesesteak and chicken and shrimp. The waitress brought out the onion rings, queso, and my house salad. By that time the luncheon crowd was arriving and filling up the tables. I watched as 8 tables which had filled after we had received our drinks began receiving their meals. I then watched as they ate and finished their meals and began leaving. Needless to say, we were wondering if our order had been forgotten. After 40 minutes, a manager came by to tell us the kitchen had burned the bread for my philly cheesesteak and they had to make another one. I cannot possibly see how it can take over 40 minutes to remake a sandwich. More importantly, I do not understand why someone had not told us long before that our meal had been delayed. While we were waiting for our food, the waitress came to our table and started asking us to hand her dishes we were finished with--not just a dish or two--6 as well as the sauce cups, used napkins, straws--she just kept pointing away. The items were not in our way and we are not accustomed to busing our own table at the direction of our waitress when our meal is not even completed. When the food finally arrived, my husband's meal was lukewarm. Very poor service will keep us from returning. read more

Food and service was good as usual, but their bartenders are slacking. We ordered four drinks while eating and not a single one was garnished correctly! Not only that they were weak as can be. This has not been our past experiences with Cheddar's but the past couple of times it seems like they're slacking. When you're paying $7-9 a piece you would expect some more booziness! From now on probably going to order to go and make our own drinks at home the way they should be. I am really impressed both with what I ordered and the fact that they were able to return my credit card that I had stupidly left on the table. I had the Monte Christo which was reminiscent of those that I had at Bennigans (remember them?). Service was fabulous, but what I must commend over all of that is that when I realized (the next day) that I had left my credit card there, I called, they had it and I was able to pick it up. So they got it early enough so no one was able to steal it and it was with their manager. Integrity is extremely important to me and the Cheddar's staff just oozes with it. read more

I thought Cheddar's was only in MI, but I was wrong. We came down for a local sports event and stopped in for dinner on our first night in town. We called ahead and were told we would have a 6-11 minute wait. Upon arriving we were told the same time frame and were seating in less than 10 minutes. The food was just as expected (it's always been good in MI) and the service was even better. I keep forgetting how large the portions are (chicken finger appetizer is really a dinner portion). Our waitress was quick with refills and very polite. We got the queso and chips and got fresh chips as we finished up. Ribs and shrimp were also good. Super good, comfort food. Nicer than I was expecting judging just on the name. I thought it would be like a Denny's but it was updated and nice inside. Super clean and great, friendly staff. We got the grilled salmon with some sort of glaze that was very good. The broccoli casserole was recommended and it was so good and creamy as was the Mac & cheese. I also got a potato soup and house salad that was better than it looked. We were sad we didn't save room for dessert because we saw the apple pie on another table and it looked great. We'll be back. Couldn't believe our bill was only $17! Only reason I didn't give 5 stars is because I save those for insanely cool and mind glowingly delicious places and this is all just really really good and safe to please the crowds. read more

I've been here maybe four times. The portion sizes are always huge. I'm fairly sure those chicken fingers can be seen from space. The have some excellent deserts. The wait times for a table can be a little absurd. Don't try to come on a weekend or a graduation night, because this is one of the most popular casual dining locations in the area. I don't care much for the Monte Cristo sandwich, it's just too greasy. I've yet to find an item I want to order every time, but they have quite a bit of selection. This place can be kind of loud, because it is so popular. As you can tell from the photos, the restaurant can be fairly dark. I prefer better lighting. read more
