Possibly one of my favorite restaurants in Lexington. Between the consistency and the customer service there is not much better.

Well, I wrote a lengthy review until it deleted but this restaurant and their services was amazingly perfect. We went on a Saturday night and it was plenty of parking and seating so we were grateful. I have eaten at this location 3 times now. There was four of us eating this time and everything was quickly made and tasted good. The country fried chicken and two sides was good. The potato soup was good along with the other items that were ordered. Our server and the one training was attentive and nice. They do provide a military discount which is much appreciated. read more

It's pretty good bar food, but the quality has gone down since Covid. Like a slightly upscale Applebee's.

We arrived at about 1:30 pm for lunch after a trip to the hospital . We were greeted and seated promptly . The waitress came over took our drink orders and brought the drinks out . I was shocked they didn't bring out the crossiants out and was going to ask but I know it's what is supposed to happen and it has at every Cheddars we ever have gone to. We ordered our food and it was great but when she took our order I meant to order a salad and I was shocked she never asked either , which I would have ordered . Another couple was seated in our wait for our lunch and the same waitress brought out fresh crossiants to them . It was disturbing to me because it made us feel she didn't want to serve us . The system was down when we went and didn't know if I could use my gift card. I ordered the chicken and it was like rubber. The fries didn't have much taste and were cold by the time we got our food. It has really changed. I used to love it but they have taken a lot of stuff off the menu. It isn't like it used to be!! read more

As soon as we got here the workers were just talking, having a conversation ignoring us. Then they put us in the darkest corner of the restaurant couldn't even see to read the menu. No napkins either. Disappointed. read more

Went to Cheddars tonight, have not been due to the last visit wasn't too good, I must say that this place has changed, was greeted by the host, as soon as I sat down a waiter was there, I was surprised on how nice this young man was, our food came out, it was plated perfectly, hot and delicious. So our family LOVES Cheddars, it's been a staple for my wife & I since we started dating. We would frequent the one at Helmsdale place, but once it burned down we transferred our seemingly bi-weekly trips to this one. Since then service here has been sketchy to say the least! Sometimes we travel with someone in a wheelchair, & the host/hostess will always say they only have two tables to accommodate wheelchairs. A few days ago this was the case, & of course the two tables were already recently filled with a wheelchair at each. We were told we would have to wait until one party was finished with their meal, potentially 45 min wait. This was a Monday late afternoon & the place was pretty slow. When I politely asked to speak to a manager I was greeted & supplied a truly workable solution to our issue. The manager asked if our person in the wheelchair could come to the backside of the restaurant, from there he opened a back door to another seating area that was empty but not handicap accessible from inside. Truly nice guy & even our hostess was polite when I asked for a manager, no eye rolls or frustration from her end, she was a professional through & through!! Food was also great (as usual), we did have issues with the card scanner at the table as we were leaving so left a star off for that, but all in all right now at least this place is under great management (Jason or Josh, tall guy with a J name is who we had). Very good food and drink! The prices are fair. My Bloody Mary was really god as well. The bartender was clearly in a bad mood which is off putting but it was early in the morning and it was busy so I understand where he was coming from. Better if you eat inside only that way will u get what u pay for. Anytime i have a big mobile order they always forget three peoples plates and everyones sides then they have a rude attitude when we want to check the bags once i ordered a lemon pepper chicken with a side of fries literally looked like leftovers barely any rice and only one tiny fry not even a handful of fries. So yeah good place bad workers inside restaurant is better don't do carry out. read more

Food is always great but the past few times ive tried to place a to go order it's been over an hour wait.... Hopefully you aren't making people inside wait that long cause that's ridiculous/ to go orders should be 15-30 minutes max... gotta get something better going here. read more

I should've known something was up when parking lot was a 3rd full on a Saturday night. We always loved thr Buffalo chicken wraps. We were regulars pre-pandemic. We have enjoyed visiting some old favorites but Cheddars was basically slop now. They wraps were haphazardly wrapped the tasteless chicken, unmelted cheese with hard cabbage (not cole slaw). The fries tasted old and even the ranch was terrible. We immediately paid the check. The waitress made no inquiries about the fact the food was uneaten. I tipped the 18% and took my 4 year old granddaughters chicken tenders to our dogs. When a 4 year old barely eats chicken tenders....says it all. Literally a miserable experience. Arrived at 1:42 just leaving at 3:45. We went to take our daughter out for a quick lunch for her birthday. Boy were we wrong! Only ordered one appetizer 2 kid meals and 2 adult meals. Nothing complicated. Food took forever to arrive to the table, wasn't hot, and wasn't very flavorful. We were in Lexington today. Hamburg area. Sad to find out that the Cheddars there was gone. We loveCheddar's Cean...impeccable service.....great chow! So we decided to take a drive to the Cheddars on Walden. WTH!!!!!!!!! I felt like I was in an insane asylum. The hostess was BEYOND eccentric. Seriously...loud....zany. Our bartender was a mess. OK....sorry to be so graphic, but his skin was a mess. Literally had scabs all over his face! He kept touching his face and underneath his shirt! Ugh. Not someone you want in a customer svc position. Just ate dinner here Tuesday night with my boyfriend and we were in love with their food. Every bite of every different thing we got was impeccable. I started with a Texas margarita on the rocks and it was so tasty. Not too sweet or sour, it was just right. My boyfriend loved his strawberry lemonade, especially the strawberry chunks in it. He got a house salad that we shared along with the filet. Restaurants usually undercook his meat but it came out perfectly cooked for him. He also got a side of Idaho potatoes and buttered corn. They were seasoned wonderfully and melted in your mouth. I got the sirloin medium and mine was also cooked spot on. It was juicy, and I could eat that steak every day of the week. I got broccoli and a plain baked potato with mine, also amazing. Even reheated the following day for lunch it was all super delicious. HIGHLY recommend checking this place out, they are reopen for dining in and following covid precautions. They only small issue we had was service was a little slow but she did a great job and was very busy. She never sat around or ignored us she just had a lot on her plate.. we will 100% be back next time I'm in Lexington. read more

Well another poor experience at Cheddars. To start they did not have near enough help. Half the wait staff was attentive and rocking while the other half was sluggish and inattentive. The only time our server was personable was when she was pushing for a tip. The bus boys seemed to moving with purpose. The worst was the fact the place was a little over half full with the same amount of people stacked by the door creating a serious fire hazard and a poor experience for patrons. read more

Food had bugs in it, Manager refused to refund me even though I offered to send him a picture of it and return the salad... A little green bug jump out of my 11$ salad as soon as I opened I opened it... Called immediately and spoke with manager "Darryl" and kindly explained to him what had happened and that I would like to get a refund , as I had no desire to finish my salad... Even though I was kind ...he immediately sounded put off and said " you can come in and we can remake the salad ( obviously I turned this down) and then said "we can only email you a gift card". This was the first built of the two local locations. Both locations are my favorite places in Lexington where I get the most bang for my buck. It reminds you of higher class Applebee's. The food portions are huge. I usually get the vegetable plate, starting with a salad, including three other sides for $7.29... I told you that you get a lot of bang for your buck. Other classic menu items that they have are chicken and waffles, buffalo chicken wrapper, cat fish, Shepherd's Pie, country fried chicken and many more that I'm forgetting. I almost forgot the mention the buttery croissant rolls! One irresistible roll per side salad. There is often a wait list, but the tables along the bar are self seat... if there are any available. read more

Chicken was raw, meal size salad was as big as side salad. One server for whole restaurant. Everything took forever.

Server does not seems to have enough knowledge about menu. My friend ordered baked spasagna with meat but there was no meat in that . When asked , he said there is meat but there was not . I had New Orleans pasta and it was ok but it could have been better with some more Alfredo. It was little dry with not much Alfredo sauce in it. I have been to this place before and I usually order their sandwiches chicken or fish with sides and they are good. Apart from this , nice relaxing atmosphere around. read more

Absolutely the worst dining experience I've ever had. Saturday afternoon and they were busy but my wife craving chicken pot pie. I ordered Smokehouse burger to go. First, they forgot the bun. A hamburger without a bun. Pretty sure that's part of the definition of a hamburger. Not sure bacon even dragged across grill. Lettuce wilted a couple of weeks ago. Service is passable and some of the menu items are good. I love the decor and the people are friendly. But most of the food wasn't good. Avoid anything fried. It tastes like the grease hasn't been changed in a long time. Potato Soup & Chicken Pot Pie are delicious. So I'm really mixed. I'll try it again and avoid fried food. read more

This was my first time at this Cheddar's. The great thing about Cheddar's is that all the ones I have been in, the food is very consistent. Had the rib and chicken combo. Ribs were great chicken is awesome. Have so much that everyone at the table could try. Appetizer of chips salsa and cheese with ground beef was epic. Even brought us some more chips without asking. The decor is great. We sat in the bar area. No desert and that's an issue because they give you loads of food for the money. If you have not ate here a must try. read more

I visited Cheddar's on the tail end of my trip in KY, so I honestly was plump from all the southern, homestyle, hearty, good food. So I compromised and ordered a salad. Ok ok ok fine, I had the Crispy Chicken Salad. Yes a salad with chicken tenders. Delicous chicken tenders I might add! Overall the menu was big but it's nothing out of the ordinary. Austin was an excellent server. He checked on us multiple times, he was very pleasant, and he made us feel like we mattered. He gave great customer service. I got the veggie plate. The house salad and coleslaw were fresh and appealing. I didn't care for the mashed potatoes; they weren't hot, and they were dry and overly salty. With that said, I feel compelled to warn others against this "restaurant". Spent over an hour waiting to have my party of seven split into two groups in isolated booths (yeah, that's how we enjoy dinner together)... Manager Josh was terrible and incompetent, food was greasy, mediocre and by the way, forget the onion rings and other key menu items, they're gone. Place was dirty and the crowd of 50+ people at the door weren't happy. Will, never, be, back. I suggest you choose somewhere else to dine. Do so at your own risk... Cheddars was our go to weeknight order. The last few times I've ordered the order has been wrong or missing items. They changed the menu and no longer have some of the staples our family loved. Arrived around 8:50 pm on a Friday. Table for 4. We sat. No waiter. No drinks. No service. Wait staff walking by but all seemed cracked out from earlier rush (it was no longer busy) and didn't want to make eye contact with us for fear we'd ask them to do something. There are 3 reasons my wife and I go to Cheddars: the peach tea, spinach dip, and the Orleans pasta. This was our first visit to this particular Cheddars and it was underwhelming. It took a bit longer than usual to be waited on initially, but the rest of the meal the service was good. The food wasn't as good though. The sampler trio had queso that was average as best, and the usually delicious spinach dip was drowning in melted, liquid-y sour cream making it nearly inedible after the first few bites. The chicken tenders of the trio were good but not special. The 2 saving graces of the meal were the peach tea and Orleans pasta were as delicious as ever. Overall, a better meal could be had elsewhere, even at a lower price point. read more

The menu stood out in its wide variety of food and drink offerings. If I lived near one of these restaurants, I could definitely see myself returning to sample many different items. My wife and I had the chips and spinach artichoke dip as a starter, which was tasty. For dinner, I had the 8 ounce sirloin and chicken tenders with a baked potato and coleslaw. Our server was friendly but seemed super busy and wasn't able to check on us as much as I would have liked, but he did a great job when he did. All in all, 4 stars for me. read more
