My wallet also sings with delight as the bill approaches. You leave Cheddars feeling like you have robbed them because you have gotten way more food than you should be paying for! Every thing that I expected was achieved on this particular visit! Within moments of being seated our waitress showed up, bright eyed and bushy tailed, eager to take our drink order. Normally, I order the Chicken Tender platter with bacon-cheese fries and red beans and rice as my side. My spirits are on high, but so are my cholesterol/sodium levels, after a meal like that. So this time I decided on a much lighter meal, the buffalo chicken wrap. And boy did it hit the spot! The food was fresh an hot and also came out within just a few minutes of our order. Was our first time going and the service was not the best :( Server seemed rushed and we ordered and appetizer (cheese fries) and our drinks. Server came back with our drinks asked us to order and then left. About 20 minutes later she came back with our food but no appetizer. She asked if we needed anything else so k asked about it and she was like oh you mean that didn't come out yet as our table was empty. She then was in zero rush to go get said appetizer and when it was brought back you could tell it had been sitting in the window under the heat lamp the entire time. She never checked on us after that and then brought the check about 10 minutes later. We are fans of this low cost cafe where I can feed my family of five without breaking the bank. The men in my clan all order the Buffalo Chicken Wraps. They devour them and are stuffed because you get allot of food! Me, I go with the Chicken Pot Pie. It's not like my mothers, but it's good and I get that comfort food fix that I want. Our waiter said he wanted to make our experience like a 5-star restaurant and he did just that. Our food came 6 minutes after we ordered it and was AMAZING. Best chicken pot pie. The bread wasn't burnt or too doughy and it managed to be hot but not burn-your-mouth-to-smithereens hot. The potato soup was creamy and soft. The food is insanely rich and delicious, the prices cannot be beat, and the staff is super friendly - Lexington may not be part of the true "South," but the servers here will call you sweetheart and treat you like family. I usually judge service by how many times your water glass is refilled, and at Cheddar's you are never thirsty. My absolute favorite thing on the menu is Loaded Baked Potato Soup, but I've also ordered and loved the Monte Cristo Sandwich, the Buffalo Chicken Wrapper, and the Crispy Chicken Tender Salad. Tip - make sure that with whatever you order you also get a side salad because they all come with a croissant that is TO DIE FOR. The sweet butter on the croissant is melt-in-your mouth amazing and the croissant is always perfectly light and crispy. Awesome deal! Huge portions for very low price! My usual is the chicken Caesar pasta salad with a sweet, sticky croissant. It's my favorite meal here. Asked for our croissants and salad before the meal. Waiter had to be reminded. After he took our credit card it took another 15 minutes to get our final bill. Every time I eat at Cheddar's I have a similar experience - always a good one. Cheddar's is consistently cheap, tasty and quick. My wife and I went in today for our Sunday afternoon lunch expecting more of the same, and boy did we get it! My wife ordered their fried fish tacos with a side Caesar salad. The salad came out first, looked great, and was HUGE compared to side salads at most places. Plus it comes with a delicious flaky croissant drenched in honey butter. Delicious! My lunch portion of catfish was probably the largest lunch portion I've gotten anywhere, perfectly seasoned and grilled just how I like it. Don't let me forget to mention the broccoli cheese casserole... It's always a little different, but consistently delicious. Sometimes it's heavy on the cheese or will have rice, but it's always a good choice. Let me not forget to mention that both my and my wife's meal totaled to just under $20. That's crazy inexpensive. Great choice for my family! Our waitress Dena was very gracious. My daughter order a salad with no eggs due to an allergy, but when it came out there were still eggs on . Dena was so kind and let us know that they can promise to get all the eggs out of the house salad.... but she can give a cesser salad or a garden one with no eggs. Haven't been to Cheddars in over 5 years but was invited for lunch on a Saturday. The first thing I noticed was the parking lot wasn't as pack as usual but I'm sure the weather had a little bit to do with this. We got seated right away and the menu had lunch specials that were for all 7 days and not just the weekdays, which you usually don't see. I loved the cheddars club years ago and decided to see if it still was as good as I remember. I paired it with a Caesar salad and they have yuengling on tap. The person I went with got the chicken fingers and fries. Then we had the Cookie Monster for desert. Well the club was just as great and huge as I remember, I couldn't have been happier with my choice. The chicken fingers I tried and they almost seemed to have been in the dryer just a tad bit to long. The chicken inside was still good but the outside was just a little bit to hard. The fries were a good choice of a side. As for the Cookie Monster, who doesn't like cookies and ice cream! read more

Cheddars is one if my favorite places in Lexington. I feel like you get the best quality of food and portion for the best price. We frequent the Brighton location and tates creek location often. My favorite dishes are the dijion chicken, onion rings, potato skins and the full rack of ribs. Where else can you go and get a full rack of ribs that taste good for 13.99 and still get two sides?? Best price anywhere! The smoked flavor is the best. The service has always been great whenever we go. We often have big parties of 6 or more and service is still great. I have always enjoyed dining at Cheddars but not tonight! We had a table of six. The table next to us was apparently a birthday celebration of about 12 to 14 adults. They were beyond noisy!! We could not hear or talk to each other at our table. Management should have moved them to a more private area! In addition, the service was not what I have experienced ever at Cheddars. We had to ask for a number of items and it took forever to get them. We asked for spoons for our desserts and the server brought us plastic spoons. It was the worst dining experience I've ever had. I tried Cheddar's again on 2/13/19. Again, a horrible experience even worse than the last time months ago. I ordered the cornmeal white fish. It had to be sent back because the fish was raw in the thicker pieces. When the waitress returned with the fish, it was the same fish and had been fried again. Wonder if they fried it in the same fryer as other orders of fish? I could not eat it - not knowing. Just made me sick thinking if they would do that, what else went on in the kitchen. Stopped in for a late dinner, and was pleasantly surprised at how friendly and upbeat staff was just an hour before closing! I know from experience that the end of a shift is the hardest -- especially closing, but Makayla was fantastic and even took extra care to make sure we got our dessert order in ahead of time before the kitchen closed. This Cheddars location never fails to bring their A game but tonight, they dropped the ball. First off, we had to wait 15 minutes for a table which was a surprise because upon our arrival they were NOT busy. We were seated and ordered our drinks. Ordered queso and chips as an appetizer, the queso was delicious but lukewarm and the chips tasted stale. We had to ask for silverware and were given PLASTIC UTENSILS! We were told that they were "out" of silverware. Really? What sort of restaurant has NO silverware? We both ordered the ribeye, baked potato and broccoli and our meal was delicious! Apparently they are seriously understaffed but props to our server as she hustled her ass off. I did notice several staff members just standing around chit chatting. Not a good look. We live very close to this Cheddars and go fairly often. You can tell their food is from scratch, it just tastes freshly made. I typically order the chicken strips, they are really good and I like the batter on them. Last time we were here we also had onion rings which were good- it was a huge portion of them we shared. They weren't super greasy which was nice. We have always had good service here and since the restaurant is so big we've never had to wait too long to be seated. Absolutely delicious food at reasonable prices, and with outstanding service! My favorites there are their fried shrimp (perfection!), their small sirloin, and their generous burgers. Order their onion rings! You get a tower of crispy rings, lightly battered. The only problem is eating them all. And Cheddar's doesn't advertise! They don't have to. Word of mouth is all they need to keep the restaurant full. And that brings me to the only slight negative note--this Cheddar's is so popular that there's often a substantial wait on weekend nights.
