Man o man... So disappointed... Ordered Catfish with Red Beans and Rice every time I ate here for years, it was always delicious, the Main reason I go / went to Cheddars. I came in as always, didn't look at the menu and ordered as usual. It was not good and a much smaller portion, I was wondering what was going on, I looked at my receipt and saw "white fish" and thought she must have heard me wrong. I don't usually complain so I didn't say anything. I just went back today and looked at menu... no catfish ... no red beans and rice .... I asked the waiter and he said they were told it was the same thing and they are just calling it that. NO WAY! Not even close. I don't know why they took such a great dish off the menu. CHEDDARS if your listening put it back and I'll come back. I'm sure I am not alone. :( read more

One of our favorite restaurant to visit. The many times visited I've only ordered the salmon, excellent choice.

Cheddars is a decent chain. The food is average, a little bland in flavor but their drinks are solid. I've now been to this location twice and the service was terrible. Setting the tray on the table, always forgetting items, and both times the food was brought out in parts so some of my party had to wait to eat. They go through the motions but they don't care, typical chain mentality. I gave them an extra star because Cheddar's does the "side plate" where you can get 4 sides for around $8 and their sides are pretty good. Wish more places did that. read more

Right off the bat I was disappointed! Used to love this restaurant but as soon as I went in the door I saw how filthy it was. The glass doors hadn't been cleaned in quite awhile. The entire floor was filthy and this was 11:15am so they had just opened. The restroom had not been cleaned in awhile. They've changed the menu and the food was mediocre. This is my first visit to this place and I was pleased but somewhat disappointed. The place was packed because it was Monday dinner time but the time to be seated was about 20 minutes but I give them a pass there. I ordered the onion rings and they were very good. I couldn't finish the large amount of them and took the rest home to eat later. I ordered the chicken fried steak and the two sides that came with it and I added another. The three sides were very good but the steak was ok. The steak however was tough to cut with a knife and somewhat hard to chew. I was able to eat most of the steak but the overall quality of the steak was disappointing. A good meal I did enjoy but the steak was a letdown. Would I eat there again? Yes. Maybe the steak was a once in a while error but we'll see next time read more

Terrible Service! I called ahead to let them know that there would be a party of 20 one night. They were rude and told me "we don't take reservations." I understand that, but as being a server myself, I would like to know so I can prepare to be ready for a table that size. Once arriving, they told us it would be about 45 minutes before we got seated, but that wait time ended up being an hour and a half!!!! They were rude and not helpful at all. The server was nice, but got all the orders on the wrong ticket even after she wrote them down in order so that she wouldn't get them confused. read more

Ordered vegetable plate ....usually good restaurant for vegs .....but not today. I got sweet potato, baked potato, black beans and steamed broccoli. Baked potato and broccoli were served luke warm. My sweet potato was TINY and over cooked compared to my husband's gorgeous and huge sweet potato. Our sweet waitress was more than willing to make good on the sweet potato ....but kitchen could only come up with medium sized one with a large bad spot. I asked for a different side....and our waitress once again wanted to make me happy. Thanks to her, I m leaving happy and stuffed. Normally Cheddar's food is really good. Last night a one of us ordered the Philly Cheese Steak. It was cold and tasted bad. They ended up with food poisoning. I noticed the ledges on the walls needed to be cleaned as well. We'll never eat at this Cheddar's again. Kind of sad due to it being in the East End of town. I have been to the Clarksville location and left in utter disgust and swore off Cheddar's. My husband insisted we try this location as it is his favorite and man oh man was he right. The staff is super friendly and most always hold and open the doors for customers. Waiters are attentive, nice, and knowledgeable about the menu. We have been multiple times and each time I have tried a different menu item. It always comes out hot and is genuinely good. They make the only coleslaw I enjoy eating. Monte Cristo is amazing. Heaven on a sandwich. Buffalo Cheddar Wrap amazing. Spasagna is to die for. Portion sizes are so big I can eat til I'm full and have a complete meal leftover for the next day. read more

I ordered the ribs with shrimp, broccoli casserole and french fries. The ribs were little dry around the edges so i ate the middle. My mom gave me a piece of her chicken but it was a little dry as well. I have eaten at Cheddar's in Tulsa when I lived there and at this location a couple of times before. The food is usually good but not great. The prices are not bad. If you're on a budget and want somewhere to go that has good food and decent atmosphere, this is the place. read more

It's embarrassing to admit this to our eat local hipster friends but this is one of go-to places when my husband and I don't feel like cooking. There are lots of choices and it's impossible to beat the prices. A favorite of ours is the buffalo chicken wrap. I like that it really ends up being two meals since we almost always take leftovers home. Our only complaint is that they always bring you the check way before you're done eating. Ok so I will get right to it, I don't understand why this place is always so crowded. I have eaten here twice and two other times we chose to go elsewhere because the wait was TWO hours. The two times we did stay I was very unimpressed with the overall experience. The service was just ok both times, they seem to be notorious for having one server take your order and another server bring the food as this happened both times. The servers were friendly enough but when the person bringing the food is not the one taking the order they have to "announce" all of the entrees to see who claims them which I really don't care for. The food was ok both times but overall left something to be desired. My husband had the chicken fingers which were huge which he liked but they were average tasting chicken fingers. The first time I had the burger and it may have been the worst burger I have ever eaten. The second time I had the chicken pot pie which was decent but surprisingly unfilling. Overall the food is less that average in taste and quality but at least the prices are reasonable, it is one of the least expensive chain type restaurants I've been to. Other than the prices and large chicken fingers I didn't see or experience anything that should warrant a TWO hour wait. read more

If I could give 0 stars, I would. When I first moved to Louisville, I was in temporary Corporate housing near this Cheddar's. Never having been to one and seeing it always busy, we tried it one night. IT WAS TERRIBLE. We were quoted a 15 minute wait for a table, so we sat at the bar. The wine choices were abysmal. I assumed a place with an actual bar area would have at least a semi-decent selection. The best offering was a Barefoot Wine that is sold for $3 a bottle in stores. I was about to give up when I saw their "skinny margarita" made with tequila, lime juice and agave syrup. What I received was undrinkable pre-mixed Ecto-Cooler green margarita. It was terrible. I added a ton of water to it to cut the sweet and I still couldn't drink it. With my discarded "margarita" still in front of me, I ordered a white wine. The waiter didn't ask why I was ordering a different drink when I still had a full "margarita" in front of me. The food sucked, it was bland and their biscuits (that you have to pay extra for) were not even good. I will not be back. This is by far my worst dining experience I've had in Louisville. read more

The food is always great and the price is right! The ONLY issue is the to-go service. For the past week I have been trying to place a to-go order!! The first issue is that the phone doesn't always work. Many times you have to call several times for it to ring. Otherwise you get a fax noise. The second issue is that it takes them forever to answer once the phone decides to work. Once they answer they transfer you to the bar to place your order. Be prepared to already arrive at the restaurant before you even place your order because it takes the bar anywhere from 8-30 minutes to answer. I literally made it from South 3rd Street to this Cheddar's on Westport road and I was on hold the whole time!!! They finally answered and I was literally 2 minutes away. I placed the order just to be told it would be 30-45 minutes!! I was livid to say the least! If they would have answered 30 minutes ago that would have been fine! I cancelled the order of course and took my business elsewhere. I've literally been trying to place an order for over a week. THAT'S TERRIBLE!! There's no excuse. They need to get an online ordering option since the old school call in way isn't working. They are literally losing so much business because of this! read more

Tried Cheddar's on 8/26/14 for the very first time because of recommendations from friends and family. This place is definitely a typical American but definitely more my style than O'Charley's or Applebees. Personally I got the Fried Chicken Breast with Mac and Cheese and Corn. The corn was just okay. Everything else was great! We ordered Onion Rings as an appetizer, they're the best!! Tried the ribs with honey bbq, they are amazing, fall off the bone, tender, and great!! The chicken pot pie is also very delicious!! Our server was Melissa and she was so nice. Try the raspberry sweet tea. It comes with an orange wedge and it was amazing. We used to love going to cheddars whenever we were in a city that had one. Now that we live so close to this location, we were very excited to be able to go more often. However, we never have had a good experience. A couple of weeks ago we went in at 2 o'clock in the afternoon. There were very few cars in the parking lot and very few people were eating. We stood at the hostess station for five minutes waiting for someone to come by and seat us. After we were seated we sat at the table for five minutes waiting for someone to bring us some water and menus. No one did. So we got up and left. I told the hostess on our way out while we were leaving. Within five minutes we were enjoying a wonderful chicken salad next-door at Chick-fil-A! read more

I still eat at Cheddar's at least once or twice a month, and am usually satisfied with it for the most part. They still have great variety on their menu. But I am VERY disappointed with the fact that they never cook their broccoli cheese casserole the right way anymore where the broccoli is soft and not barely cooked. I've had to stop getting it because it is never good anymore. And a couple of times ago they had done something to mess up their cheese sauce for the broccoli cheese casserole and the mac & cheese! read more

This is one of my least favorite restaurants in the area. Salt is the seasoning of choice here. When in doubt, add lots and lots of salt. The food is seriously lacking in creativity and is often very poorly executed. Service is lackluster and prices are outrageous considering the quality of the food. Stay away. I love this place!! It's such a nice throw on some jeans and grab some yummy food place. They have a ton of selections but I usually go with my favorite - country fried steak. The batter is fried to perfection, so light and crunchy, and not overwhelming on the steak. I usually get my gravy on the side which they're happy to do. We usually get a table right away, who doesn't love that, and the servers are always so friendly. We got sat in the back last time and the hostess made sure to ask if we were ok with the table which was very thoughtful. I got the Texas Sweet Tea this time, and boy that sneaks up on you! It's very yummy though and I would totally recommend it, but I see why there's a limit of two ;) read more

Just not one of my favorite restaurants in this area. I stopped going for a while and thought I'd give it another chance, just not the best food for the money. The positive I have is that the onion ring tower is very good and not overly expensive, but the entrees leave something to be desired. I got the chicken tenders, because how can you mess up those? By not giving them any flavor, they were very bland. My wife got the Monte Cristo and it was so sickening sweet that she could only easy one quarter of the sandwich. If you're in the Westport Rd area there are several other restaurants that are more worth the money over this one. read more
