On 3/19/26 there were 17 residents from Swan Pointe's HOA that went to Cracker Barrel for dinner. Our servers tonight were Emma and Jaden H. We sat at 2 rows of tables and had plenty of room to eat and talk. The servers were great at getting our drink orders to us, baskets with Cornbread and Biscuits and then coming back to take our food orders. I sat at Jaden's table and she did a fantastic job getting the orders. Thursdays are Turkey night so several people ordered that. My husband and I went with the 2 for $19.99. I had the Old Timers Breakfast with 2 Eggs, 3 strips of Bacon, a side ( I chose Fried Apples) and biscuits. My husband chose the Momma's Pancake Breakfast. It had Scrambled Eggs, 3 Strips of Bacon and 3 Beautiful Pancakes with a scoop of Butter on the top. With the 2 for $19.99 you also get a Shareable or a Dessert. We took our Dessert home with us that night. We were too full to eat any more. It was a lovely night. Everyone agreed that their meals were delicious. Some of our friends bought "Take home meals" for just $5.00. That's a great deal, too. Both of the servers were terrific and brought back take home boxes, to go cups, and our tickets. Jaden was so cute when we told her what a great job she had done. She said this was the first time she had more than 5 people at a table. She and Emma did an amazing job. This was our first time visiting a Cracker Barrel Old Country Store restaurant, even though my daughter has always loved Cracker Barrel mac and cheese from Publix. The restaurant wasn't very crowded when we visited, which made the experience feel relaxed and comfortable. We waited about 20 minutes for a table, but it didn't feel long at all since we were able to look around the gift shop while waiting. My daughter couldn't find the Cheddar Havarti she usually enjoys, so she ordered the chocolate pancakes instead. The warm, unique atmosphere of the restaurant made it a wonderful first experience for her. Overall, the service was friendly, the food was good, and it was an enjoyable brunch for our family. My parents are in their 80s and rarely go out to eat. However, when they do, they go to Cracker Barrel. I meet them at this location often, and met them there on Friday. The people are nice, and the food is always solid, but sometimes there are issues with service or wait times. Today, my Mom ordered biscuits and gravy, my Dad ordered two biscuits and eggs, and I ordered a pancake. Her biscuits and gravy and his biscuits came out first, and over 10 minutes later, his eggs and my pancake came out. He wanted to eat the eggs with the biscuits, so he was annoyed. It took a little bit of time to get a table, but we were there on a Sunday brunch so it was about as busy as it gets. It has been YEARS since I ate at a Cracker Barrel. Always road food to me. The road was I64 heading out of Louisville, with bumper to bumper traffic. My buddys wanted to stop to eat, and it turned out to be CB. Intimidated by the huge menu, I had a hard time deciding what to eat. I ordered the Signature Fried Chicken Dippers, basically the tenderloins, with steak fries and slaw. It was a lot of food, and I managed to eat only two pieces of chicken, dipping them in the Comeback Sauce. The sauce, a Southern version of remoulade, had a kick to it, and it was a pretty good add to the chicken. A basket of biscuits and corn muffins were brought to the table for sharing. We had a decent experience at Cracker Barrel. The service was great, our waitress was very kind and attentive throughout our visit. There were a few mix-ups with the order that seemed to come from the manager pushing things out too quickly, but to her credit, she fixed everything right away, which we really appreciated. As for the atmosphere, it's the classic Cracker Barrel vibe (rustic and homey) which isn't really my personal style, but it's consistent with their brand. We mainly came for the crispy pancakes, which unfortunately didn't deliver. They were soft and a bit underwhelming, so overall the breakfast was just okay. Is it just this location or all of them. Food was cold and bland. Service was tepid. I got the chicken fried chicken. Over cooked and gravy was spackling paste. Mash potatoes room temp. They weren't even 25% full and the cook couldn't even make a good grilled cheese. All three of the kid's grilled cheeses had slices that weren't melted (see photo). I was really disappointed in my visit at Cracker Barrel. As expected on a weekend, there was a long wait but it wasn't a big deal. My main issue is with the service. The employees at the host table seemed very unorganized and were not communicating. My name was called and I presented myself and was told I was next. The lady that was actually sitting people skipped over me and sat several groups. The other employee had to repeatedly tell her I was next. For the meal, we ordered an appetizer but did not get it until 25 mins after receiving our food (it also looked burnt). Overall, the food was okay. My son enjoyed his first confetti pancake. The floors were sticky and the bathroom was disgusting. Everyone looked and behaved dissolved. I will definitely check out another location when I have another craving for Cracker Barrel. read more

Starters: great for families and parties of two. Fairly consistent food quality. But can have their issues like over cooking and over salting. I for one love breakfast at all hours. So I am usually a happy camper. The service is usually good, but have the grace to allow for someone to have a bad day. Serving folks is much harder than you will know until you have put those shoes on. I love the better stocked gift shop. Things are usually clean, floors and restrooms. A place you can "rock" out. Tried calling in an order after 3 minutes hung up and waited called again. This time waited 5 minutes no answer. Called back and pushed button to talk to someone. He said you have the wrong number and said I will transfer you. They gave me music to listen after 3 songs someone picked and said I had wrong number and said I will transfer you. So then for about 5 minutes nothing then someone finally picked up. She acted like it was a chore talking to me. Finally ordered and went to pick it up. It was all there and hot like it should be. So bad and good experience. Won't call in order again. Get good service when we go inside here. read more

This location, on Blankenbaker Lane, has really got their act together. Granted, the three of us went for early dinner about 4 PM. I love their waitlist provided now. No problem with seating. We ordered variety of food, blackened catfish, fried chicken, And a big breakfast platter. Fresh biscuits, so tender. Our server, Charlie, was training a new employee and they both did an excellent job. Kept our drinks filled, checked back just enough, and took care in getting all of the extras we asked for, jelly, extra napkins, etc. But the best, I have never eaten their fried chicken. Oh my gosh, I swear it could be the best fried chicken I've ever eaten! You have got to try it. This $12.99 meal comes with a half of chicken +2 sides and biscuits. Our son said the blackened catfish, two pieces, was delicious, just enough flavor, not too spicy, and as always, my husband loves any of their breakfast items. We have Arizona family coming in next week and believe me, we are going to make sure they experience Cracker Barrel on Blankenbaker. We were staying at a nearby hotel and walked over to eat. Service was sub-par from the time we walked in. Restroom was filthy. Food was below average/mediocre. We tolerated it as good food and service is hard to come by these days. I'm writing this because of what we witnessed at check-out paying our bill (not just because our food was dull). Some guy brought back his to-go order back. He opened the bag for the cashier to see. Cashier says, " Ewwe" and giggled. We saw it. It was NOT appetizing at all! it 'appeared' to be a chicken cutlet or something chicken way over done, yellow and green broccoli (old looking yellow edges on broccoli), dark, brick colored carrots, not orange at all and something foreign in them. Again, this was NOT our order. The man asked for the manager. He also asked for the manager's name. When a young man came up, you could just tell he didn't want to be bothered by being called up to the register. The customer presented the to-go order to the manager and he simply said, 'it was the worst meal he'd had in a long time'. It was obvious the manager couldn't be concerned. The customer didn't ask for his money back. The manager had an extremely poor attitude. The customer introduced himself and asked the manager's name. His reply: "I'm the manager on duty". This went back and forth several times and the manager would never relinquish his name. How rude and so unprofessional. After listening to all this, I personally went to another employee to ask the manager's name so I could write what I witnessed. We told the hotel manager and employees about what occurred and our experience next door. We got an earful back we weren't expecting. Even they don't eat at this location anymore. To Cracker Barrel and to the manager at this Kentucky Mills Road location: Y'all need a washtub full of customer service training. And if I was the franchise owner of this location, I'd fire "Cory" in a heartbeat. read more

I walked in and the general manager was the one that sit us down in a table. Waited almost 15 minutes not even a smile from the employees. My father in law turns ninety eight next month. He lives in an assisted living and loves the glitter lanterns. Cracker barrel had one online that looked like a fish tank. We stopped for lunch so that I could pick it up and we could grab a bite at the same time. The gift shop is always a joy to look through but I was on a mission today and asked a clerk to help me find the lantern. She went in the back and offered to hold it until we were through eating. I love the rustic atmosphere and were happy we were sat near the fire as the weather had a chill in the air. I had the sirloin steak rare with three sides for $15.99. The steak was cooked perfectly, the fires were crispy. My husband had the meatloaf with potato casserole and corn. My friend had the grandma's breakfast. I ordered water and bought myself a bottled soda that they keep in ice by the host station. I ordered ham, mashed potatoes and fried apples. My husband ordered fried chicken, hash browns and macaroni and cheese. We both ordered biscuits. Our food was out very quickly. The ham was not like it usually is. It was very thick and fatty and not cooked as long as usual. It was not good. The mashed potatoes had a strange aftertaste, and the apples needed to be cooked longer. The biscuits were great. My husband didn't care for the fried chicken, but I thought it was good. He liked the hash browns and the macaroni and cheese. Our server was very attentive to us the entire time we were there after we had our drink order taken and was very nice. Our smiling server, Darlene, came over and took our drink order and announced the specials of the day. They have a nice Fried Chicken special which I choose and my wife ordered her favorite, Chicken and Dumplings. Our meals arrived shortly. The fried Chicken had a very tasty crust and served with sides of Mac & Cheese, Greens, Biscuits, Corn Cakes and a bottle of Honey. The Chicken & Dumplings were served with sides of Greens, Pinto Beans and Corn Cakes. Delicious and tender dumplings and chicken. We enjoyed a very nice meal and the service was exceptional. Cracker Barrel is Cracker Barrel. It has a formula that works well for the entire tire chain. We hadn't been there in a while so we wanted to go back. We found the great down home meal we were expecting to find. As always we sat at a table with chairs because Cracker Barrel has no boths. The table barely had enough room for all our plates of food. This is what we've all come to expect. Our waitress was a little too loud, too friendly, and a little too slow with our refills. The meals got a little mixed up and one even had to be reordered as they ran out of meatloaf. Still every thing got served without too much delay. Ordered Mac n cheese for son, they had more burnt cheese in the bottom of the bowl, he was only able to get a little regular Mac n cheese from the top of the bowl.
