I've always liked Cheddar's. It's a great family-oriented restaurant for when we're visiting the grandkids. My grandson was at a sleepover and my granddaughter picked Cheddar's for "her" night out. I think she picked it solely based on the honey glazed rolls they serve as appetizers. I had a burger. The burger itself was obviously hand-made or made in-house and was likely frozen (perfectly shaped and formed) but it had a decent flavor. The "toppings", however, elevated the burger from ho-hum status to "pretty decent". My wife and son both had the steak tips over rice. The steak was very good and the sauce (gravy) was very flavorful but a bit too salty. Depsite the sodium - they did both enjoy their meal. Last night we went to eat at Cheddars and had Kane C for our server. He was fantastic and he has been our server about 5 times and remembered us. We love having him for our server. His trainee last night was very sweet and today she starts her new status as a real server. We ordered our usual the Trio Sampler with Chicken Tenders, Chips & Beef and Spinach Dip. I usually order it and I share it with my husband. He ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger and loved it. I really liked the chicken and think on my next trip, I'll just get the chicken tenders. We were immediately greeted by a lovely hostess, seated in a comfortable booth, the waiter appeared momentarily with a basket of warm honey-butter croissants. Landed here at peak dinner hour (5:30-6pm) and were able to be seated immediately while the place was packed. Service was a little slow to get going initially but once we received our drinks everything seemed to keep rolling. We stopped here to eat on the way to a concert and it was absolutely delicious. I'm a very picky eater but they exceeded my expectations.

So first we ordered onions rings and the server came back and asked us again what we ordered we told her. Then they bring us spinach dip told them we didn't order that and then they try to bring the spinach dip back again. Then told her for the fourth time we ordered onion rings. Then she brings us our dinner I order the trio sampler and honestly looks like someone threw the items on the plate. Then I tried the chicken and well even thought you could tell it was old by looking at it I tried it and it was dry and rubbery. We told the server and she said I figured and said she would bring me new ones she did, they were a little better but she didn't bring me 4 but 3 but at this point I wasn't going to complain anymore. The server showed use she was very unhappy to be there and the service showed that too in how she spoke to us and the looks she gave when we would ask for something. Have to say this is not the first time we have had horrible service or the food was not worth half of what they ask for. But I wanted to give them another try. Well that was the last time I come to this and maybe any Cheddar's. I go out to eat to have good service and good food and if I can't get at least one of those then why go back to the place if they prove time and time again they can't provide that. read more

I was very disappointed with my experience for lunch at the Cheddar's on Westport Road in Louisville. They usually have the best croissants but mine tasted old and cold. The other issue was I found a hair in my coleslaw. I brought it to the waitresses attention who told the manager. He offered to replace the coleslaw with something else but I really was not interested. Didn't want to risk it. Service was friendly but slow, which I didn't understand considering how few people were at the restaurant. My kids opted for a Jr burger off the kids meal. They got a drink and side. I ordered the Wisconsin cheese bites which was basically cheese sticks...not that good but also not bad at all. 6.5/10 and for my meal I ordered the cornmeal white fish platter. Typically whenever I go here I always order the same thing. The fish is great and I usually order 2 broccoli cheese casserole because why not!!!? When the name changed from just Cheddars the taste of the broccoli cheddar casserole changed and I've been disappointed since then. This used to be my number one favorite restaurant but now it's just on my list of places to eat when I think about it. The service was pretty good, friendly faces and nice staff. Was always a big fan of the Buffalo chicken wrapper. It use to be packed full of chicken, slaw and pickles. Yesterday was pretty much just a big wrap with a piece of Buffalo chicken and a small amount of filling. The broccoli cheese casserole has really fallen off too. Small amount and not much taste. The side salad was okay. I got a takeout of the Monte Cristo. It held up well after the drive home. It's very noticeable the crowded parking lot is now mainly used for the Chick Fil-A next door. My husband and I went to Cheddar's recently and was rather disappointed for three reasons. 1. The restaurant was freezing, I noticed the thermostat was set at 71. 2. There were three men walking around the restaurant watching everyone, employees and customers. Made me very uneasy. One was standing in the way of us being seated. Later found out at least one, which happened to be the one who was stating in our way, was a manager. None of them actually looked like upper management. 3. The food was not to our satisfaction. The food was overcooked. The "fall off the bone ribs" were charred, dry and hard to eat. Food was not very warm and if you didn't eat it quickly it would get colder due the restaurant temperature! The complimentary croissants came out fresh, buttery and hot. Very flakey and a nice treat instead of the same ol rolls at most places. We started with cheese fries and the spinach dip. Both were served hot, fresh and very yummy. Only complaint was the chips served with the dip were mostly broken pieces /crumbs. Made it difficult to scoop. Our meals came out as we finished our appetizers, which I appreciate!! So many places mess this up by bringing out the meal right after the appetizers arrive. All meals were served warm-hot. The Cajun pasta was plentiful, however, it was very dry and lacked saucy-ness. Def needs to have more of the sauce to give it a more powerful taste and prevent noodles from drying up. Same for the chicken Alfredo- it has more sauce, but still the pasta was more dry than should have been. The broccoli was cooked perfect tho! The ribs also- needed way more sauce!! Ribs are suppose to be saucy and messy. They were also a bit on the overcooked-dry side, but still good. The key west chicken was the only meal that had no complaints, chicken was juicy and seasoned well. Overall, these are easily corrected things and it didn't ruin the meal. We had a group of 5 to celebrate my birthday, and it went well. I feel like cheddars gets worse every time I go. This past visit wasn't very great. We were there for about an hour and a half and our servers switched three times. They introduced the new server each time. It wasn't a problem for us but seemed weird since that's never happened to me at a restaurant before. It took about a half hour for us to get our food. We started off with the onion rings and they were awesome. There was enough for five people. I got the cornmeal white fish and I did not like it. I was hoping it would be crispy like their tenders and it was, but the breading wasn't very good and there was too much of it. The fish on the inside didn't have any flavor. I think the tarter sauce was old or something because it had a bunch of liquid just sitting on top of it. I have ordered take out from Cheddar's twice during the pandemic, including last night. Both times my orders were correct and the food was ready at the quoted time. I did curbside pickup which is super easy and convenient! All employees are wearing masks. Both times I got my favorite from Cheddar's - the chicken pot pie and a side salad with blue cheese dressing. The first time I also got the AMAZING (and addicting) croissants with honey butter (pro tip- get a whole order, you can't eat just one). The portions are generous and the food is hot and fresh. I love ordering from Cheddar's because they have a lot of options of home cooked (and reasonably healthy) food for reasonable prices. Fresh veggies and an amazing buttery croissant/bun. For my main course I had the Cheddars Club which was delicious. Generous amounts of deli sliced turkey and ham with two slices of bacon and I believe cheddar cheese on two slices of toasted sourdough. Delicious. Even the fries that came with the club were good. Got takeout (salmon, caesar salad, and mashed potatoes) and it was awful. Everything was extremely stale. The salmon was so overcooked it had the texture of a dry chicken breast, and it was completely flavorless. The lettuce in the salad was wilted and mushy, and it just tasted wrong. The mashed potatoes were crumbling apart because they were so dry. The outer "layer" of the potatoes was a weird brown color, meanwhile the inside was much lighter - again, stale and disgusting. I'm not a picky eater and I'll let a lot of things slide, but this was inedible, worse than public middle school food post-Michelle Obama. It all tasted like it was cooked last week, then re-microwaved for 10 minutes twice a day since, and never once refrigerated. I've been to other Cheddar's locations before and never had this experience. I get it's a super cheap chain restaurant, but I'd literally rather eat at the Applebee's in Maryland that gave me food poisoning. We placed a "pick-up" order on May 29th, 2020 only to be underwhelmed by the service and food. To begin, our order was supposed to be available for pick-up in the designated parking area for to-go orders at 8:30 p.m. Our order was not brought out until 9:00 p.m. This was not due to our order still being prepared. I watched two cars park and have their food brought out before I received my order although I was there before one of the other cars. Thinking I needed to go in for some reason, I tried to enter the restaurant but the doors were locked. I decided to call the restaurant to let them know I was outside at 8:45 p.m. The person that answered the phone said "Ok" and that they would be right out. This did not happen. There were people dining in the outside service area. I watched the same waiter come and go twice without even acknowledging my presence. I watched sit-in diners being served, eating, and leaving before I received my order. Once I received my order 30 minutes after it was supped to be ready, I asked the restaurant employee if my food was warm or cold. He could not tell me and said I should call the manager. I told him if our food was not satisfactory, I would certainly call. Our food was underwhelming to say the least! It was time to call the manager (Patrick) to be underwhelmed again! My wife called to state the dissatisfaction with the food and to report the fact we did not receive all of the food in our order! We were missing one of the orders of croissants and a side salad in addition to the food being cold, not separated, and portion sizes being unusually small. The manager stated that they use to-go trays with compartmented sections seemingly questioning the truthfulness of us reporting all of the food was not separated. Nevertheless, he told my wife the issue will be looked into and we would be updated. He also said that we would most likely receive a gift card for the cost of the meal in two to three business days. Neither of these things happened. More than a week later I am writing the review. I have given more than the two-three business days we were given.
