A friend and I stopped by Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen for an afternoon outing. It had been years since I'd eaten there, so I was looking forward to it. I ordered the bourbon glazed salmon and shrimp. The salmon is served over rice and I got corn and a salad as sides. I requested my salmon blackened with the bourbon glaze on the side, but when my meal arrived, it didn't look or taste blackened. The presentation looked rushed. The portion seemed to be on the smaller side as well. The Painkiller drink is my favorite and its usually a must have. This time around I found myself wishing I had ordered a regular margarita instead. The drink looked good but didnt taste that great. The restaurant wasnt too busy but our server was overwhelmed. He forgot our rolls a few times, drinks took longer than expected, and he mixed up our separate checks. He split the total in half instead of charging what we ordered individually. When asked if it could be corrected, he wasnt sure how to fix the bill and suggested leaving it as is. That would've been fine if our meals cost the same. My friend's total was $5 more than it should've been. To make things less complicated she made that the tip. We assumed he was new so we gave him a break. The restaurant looked clean and well maintained. Our booth didnt appear to be cleaned very well. It was very dark and we were seated next to the kitchen. Staff members kindly moved us after we asked. Overall, this visit was a miss.. I've had good experiences at Cheddar's Scratch Kitchen before so hopefully this was just an off day. I'm wiling to give them another try in the future. read more

We arrived at 6:30 p.m. and were seated promptly, which was a great start. Unfortunately, we didn't receive our drinks until around 6:50 p.m., and that's when we were finally able to place our food and appetizer order. By 7:00 p.m., our kids' meals and appetizer had arrived, but by 7:50 p.m. we were still waiting for our entrées. We rarely saw our waiter during that time, so after waiting over an hour for our food, we had to ask for the manager. The restaurant wasn't very busy, which made the long wait even more disappointing. The manager did comp our entrées, so we only had to pay for the appetizer and kids' meals, which we appreciated. However, the overall service experience was frustrating, and unfortunately, we won't be returning. read more

Cheddars is known for its croissant rolls drizzled with butter. You get complimentary ones to your table and it will take every once of will power to not order more. THEY ARE SO GOOD. My go to here is the meatloaf or the Monte Cristo. There are not a lot of places to get a Monte Cristo anymore but Chedder's does it perfectly with light powdered sugar and raspberry jam to dip it in. Easy to split with someone. The meatloaf comes with two sides and is very filling as well. I love the summer margaritas as they feature watermelon. I love watermelon and a fresh slice with anything will get me to order it. Don't sleep on the chips and queso. The salsa it comes with is smoky and delicious. The vibe here is semi loud but not overly so with tasteful decor that is not overbearing. When we walked into Cheddars we were seated immediately, and the server took kinda long to get to the table to greet us. So as soon as he arrived we figured we'd place our orders immediately. It was quite full for a Thursday night which was surprising and a little loud. For an appetizer we ordered the cheese fries. We finally received our fries and they were delicious but we were still waiting for our drinks. Once we were half way through with the fries we got our drinks. We were supposed to get some complimentary croissants but the waiter advised us the kitchen is crazy busy and that he will bring some out later with a few extra ones. Next we received our food and everything came out delicious. We still were waiting on croissants but as promised the server brought them to use before leaving. The food was great and the service was ok for this visit. I felt like we waited way too long for simple things like drinks, croissants, and service. The server was trying his best and I don't want to fault him for issues that had to do with the kitchen. The server was extremely nice and apologized for any inconveniences. Hi. Loved that restaurant in the past. So what is happening? Last time I posted I wrote a glowing review a few months ago. This week on Wednesday, ok but not great. Today: no water, had to go looking for help repeatedly; baked potato stone cold; mashed potatoes sort of ok but not like they used to be; broccoli/cheese veg horrible; even the green beans that i loved were not the same and quite tasteless. Just go for the house-made freshly baked croissants they serve you for free if nothing else, JK! Truth: they melt in your mouth and the butter is warm, runny and delicious. False: you should still order food or even more croissants! I absolutely love their whitefish dish! You get two large filets and two sides and very reasonable cost of $14.99. The salmon is also good for about a dollar more. 10/10 recommend their broccoli casserole as a side. Everything is made from scratch, excellent and hearty portions, and friendly service! read more

2nd chance to see if they stepped up their game, Due to their lack of hitting the mark last time. We were sat right away and the ambiance was not busy at all in fact I have photos of the staff hanging out conversing. We sat at the table for about 15 minutes before the server came to greet us. We gave him our drink order and our appetizers. The drinks came fairly quick. Apps came in at a decent pace. The croissants came out midway through Apps and it was cold.. wonder what took so long???? It took about an additional 15 to 20 minutes for our meals to arrive, but they were tasty. So all in all what needs to be adjusted is someone needs to have a better control of their staff? We're just sitting around and could be doing things that are more productive. I do however have to say once our Server Jeremy came he was attentive throughout our dinning. I came for lunch on a Monday with my mom and grandma to this Cheddars. We were seated right away and our waitress was very kind and attentive. The booths we sat in were very comfortable! We had a mixed bag when it came to the food. Our croissants were served cold and overcooked. I ordered the half rack of ribs and they were dry and overcooked. However, the queso and homemade chips were delicious as well the broccoli casserole! My grandma said the salad was just okay. At the end of our meal we used two gift cards to pay for our food and our server told us they covered the full amount and were all used up. I asked her how they could be used up if the amount was $43 and we had a giftcard total of $45? She went to the back and gave us the giftcard that still had $1.71 left on it. I think even if it's a small amount of money that it should be given back to the customer for them to decide what they want to do with it. read more

The chips at best were crushed tiny, less than bite size, as if from the bottom of the bag that had gotten crushed. We didn't complain but should have. The women's restroom was sad! The commode stall was super clean. The mirror looked as if it had been wiped with something greasy and both sinks and sink areas were filthy. There wasn't a host at the host stand so it took a while to get seated but once we were, we received good service. They brought the table a complimentary crossiant each which was warm flakey and delicious. I ordered the chips, queso and salsa as an appetizer. The quest was on the thick side while the salsa was pretty standard. I didn't enjoy the chip too much as they weren't freshly fried. I got the chicken fried steak with mash potatoes and broccoli casserole. The CFS tender on the inside and crispy on the outside. The two side were good as well. My family and I decided to have dinner at Cheddar's at 6650 S. Semoran Blvd. Orlando FL. 32822. It was almost eight pm. When we arrived. Restaurant was ferry empty, few tables here and there. We were greeted by Mike our server, he was kind of behind or busy and he told us so. We put our drink order and our appetizer order. He said he will be back with the croissants. He came back with the drinks and we placed our main dinner order. We finished our drinks and yet our croissants didn't show up.we asked Mike about it and he said the kitchen didn't give it to him yet. Croissants and appetizer are on the table about 8:30 pm. No we are waiting for our dinner. Called Mike and asked it's not ready yet. I was about to leave .ihave two little girls need to be in bed by nine. Finally 855 dinner show up. I asked Mike to call the manager, because I wanted to complain about the length of time it took to get our food. 905 Mike stops by and ask did the manager come by, I said not yet. Manger sped by 9:12 I complained about how long it took get our food and the restaurant is not busy. He said I don't want to give you an excuse, but I will give you discount don't worry. However, the server Angeline was terrible, and made our visit a little sour...She greeted us and I could tell right away she didn't want to be there or help us. Our food came out before the appetizer and it was so difficult to get her attention; she kept walking right by our table, ignoring us. She finally came by and I let her know, "We didn't get our appetizer, don't worry..." She held up one finger before I could finish the rest of my sentence and ran straight to the kitchen, and we can hear her yell for the appetizer. She came back and told us sternly and quickly, "I don't know where it is. It didn't go through. Do you still want it?" She was about to leave again but we were able to tell her "No, it's fine, thank you." She then left and never, ever, came back to the table to take away empty plates or ask if we wanted more water, napkins, boxes, dessert, nothing...We were completely isolated and ignored. Luckily, we were able to pay with the tabletop kiosk. I can tell she never rang in our appetizer, because it never showed up on the receipt and a manager never stopped by to speak with us about it. When we left the restaurant, we saw her sitting at a separate booth with another guest, talking and eating food from a to-go box, completely oblivious. It wasn't professional, and it all made sense as to why she ignored us the entire meal. We would love to come back, but definitely do not want to have this kind of service.
