Okay, this place is pretty fantastic. I've never had a rude or unfriendly server here. My most recent server, Taylor was her name if I remember correctly, was unbelievably friendly and just had the perfect routine down. Wasn't constantly annoying us but checked up on us the perfect amount, and WOW could actually hold a conversation! Very sweet girl. My husband and I were impressed because she seems to be very young. Food here is great, always fresh and plated beautifully. The restaurant inside is gorgeous, I don't know what it is but food must taste better when you're eating in a darker atmosphere. I have just turned 63 years old and have probably eaten in a thousand restaurants in my lifetime. This is by far the worst food I've ever been served. I had ordered a combo of shrimp and chicken w/rice. It would be too kind to call these 4 things on my plate shrimp. They were so small I think they came out of a tuna can. Absolutely no flavor at all. The chicken breast was so marinated, it was the consistency of mush. It was also served almost immediately after ordering and was ice cold. I know they are priced cheaply, but if you cannot eat it, it is definitely not worth it. I am not sure why people go to this restaurant or post positive reviews. Worst ever!!!! read more

I'm in town visiting family. We wanted to go to Cheddar's..I've never been there. I called to make reservations and was told they don't take reservations. My sister works until 6:00pm so I asked if they'd have a table for 6 available at about 7:00pm. The girl told me that we'd have to wait awhile. I clarified that she's telling me I have to wait but not willing to take a reservation...since the wait is fore seen. She said yes that's right...I hung up. Guess I'll never know what it's like. Went their for my brothers bday. Half of our big party loved their food and half didn't. There were pros and cons. It seems like the concept is a solid one for "American" food for a reasonable price but it'll take time for individual restaurants to get a handle of the relationship between the front of the house and back of the house. The service was mediocre. The burger I ordered was served with uncooked bacon, canned mushrooms, and half melted cold cheese. The table smelled like a dirty dish towel, and the floors and tables were simply filthy with food and debris. The manager was a little too easy going about the whole thing but at least scratched my meal from the ticket. Always good service and good tasting food. We have gone on week nights as well as weekend nights. This place does get busy. One Friday night the wait was 45 minutes but we were pleasantly surprised when we got seated in 20 minutes. I had the butterfly shrimp dinner with fries and coleslaw. It was good except the shrimp would be much better if they weren't butterflied. I've never had shrimp this way. The portion is good and the fries are well seasoned. My husband had a sirloin that was cooked medium rare just the way he likes it and a baked potato. Even though the place was hopping the server was outstanding and pleasant. We never had to ask for refills or extra napkins. Our dining companion had their Cajun pasta entree which we were told is one of their most popular menu items. This dish did not disappoint and our friend enjoyed every bite! I've also had the amazing chicken tenders and dreamy honey mustard dipping sauce. If you are a fan of chicken tenders this is a MUST try as the breading is perfectly seasoned and has a good proportion of meat/breading ratio. Just typing this review makes me crave the chicken tenders. Check this place out for good quality food at unbelievably affordable prices, with friendly service and a fun lively atmosphere. After seeing how busy this establishment was, I had to stop in and see for myself. After first walking in I noticed how beautiful of a restaurant it was and it was actually pretty upscale for Kenosha. Drinks were delicious and the prices were SO cheap. I became disappointed when it took over an hour to get our food and it was rather cold, I figured it was because of being a brand new restaurant and they were still trying to get a feel for it. I have been here approximately 6 times. Two of the six times there was a 20-30 min wait so we were given a coaster pager. Well on two occasions we waited and waited but nothing. We saw people that arrived after us being seated so both times we questioned them and was told they paged us and we didnt show. Malfunctioned pager we were told. The teenie bopper hostesses have no clue how to properly handle the front of the house and are clueless. No apology either time. Second time we complained to the manager and he met us at our table with complementary chili con queso. Another separate occasion we were paged. We fought through the extremely crowded doorway and made it to the hostess station in about 1 - 1.5 mins and were told they gave our table away. My response was "Are we suppose to elbow and push our way though the double doors from the front sidewalk to make it inside in less than a minute". Again the teenie bopper hostess looked at me like I was speaking French. We enjoy the food. Prices are reasonable and good portion sizes but I have no patience for ignorance. If I could do zero stars I would. They call themselves a scratch kitchen but they are a chain with pre-prepared food. I want here because I have a gluten allergy thinking they could modify entrees to provide a nice meal. Certainly a real scratch kitchen could do this. I really like Cheddars. We went opening day (completely by accident too). My mom and I had the spinach dip appetizer. It was so good! They had a lot of spinach in the dip (some places you go it's mostly cheese and very little spinach). I had the salmon that time and it was cooked to perfection. Very moist, and fell apart and it wasn't a "fishy" smell to it. I love how with some entrees you can pick up to two sides. With the salmon I had corn and a baked potato. The potato was huge! To start, way too loud! We ordered texas fries for an appetizer and they didn't arrive until we were done eating. We told the waitress (several times) that we never got the fries. The bill came and we were charged for them, we asked her o remove them from our bill, and she did, but as we were leaving, someone came out with the fries. We told him we didn't want them we were leaving and he actually had the nerve to ask if we wanted to take them with us. The food was lukewarm and blah tasting. The tables are way to close together. I have visited Cheddars three times in one month. I have enjoyed each visit! Twice with two large groups and once in a more intimate setting. It was delicious each time. They were out of buttermilk on the the third visit so we could not order their amazing onion ring tower, which is enough for at least six people as an appetizer. The manager surprised us before our dinner was served with onion rings "on the house." What a way to treat your customers! The blackened grilled catfish was out of sight, two large fillets and two sides for only $9.99. What a steal! Chicken tenders which has to be one of the most popular dishes is served in a belly buster fashion. You will have more than enough! Con Queso Dip delish, as well as the spinach dip! You will be pleasantly surprised by the delicious food at such a fair price! Oh and the mojito was a hit! Be prepared for a wait, but well worth it! read more

My husband and I tried it for the first time for an early dinner so there was no wait. I had to try the Pusser's Pain Killer drink which is rare to find outside of restaurants in the Virgin Islands. It was excellent! We tried the grilled fish tacos and a burger and both were tasty and a good value. The restaurant is nicely decorated and had a classy ambiance in part due to the dark lighting. Here comes the other side of the story. Went there for lunch and was greeted unheartedly by the host staff. Not very happy way to start off the meal for someone that has never been there before but anyway. We were seated. The server was very good but the food was so subpar that it was inedible. It was poorly presented and less appealing along with it was incorrectly paired with the wrong side which made the meal even more unappealing. I had to send it back and removed from the bill. I didn't order anything for a replacement meal due to the fact if they are unable to prepare a simple meal as a Philly cheese steak sandwich without making it so that when you pick it up to take up bite the bread will not split open and fall all over the plate then how would I have any faith in them making something else anywhere correctly. I would not recommend the place or return. They did listen but were not really willing to go the extra mile in anyway. The only redeemer was the server who help us. read more

We got there, was told it was a half an hour wait. After 30 mins my son went to check on how much longer and was told another 15 mins. After 20 mins I went to go and check on our status and was told that they gave us an old buzzer that didn't work properly and that we'd be seated next. Once seated we order chips and queso which we got pretty quickly however the chips were all broken up and pretty pathetic looking. My husband and son both ordered the spaghetti and meatballs, about 15 mins after ordering our waitress came back telling us there was only 1 left so one of them would have to choose something else. I came to Pleasant Prairie to visit family. We were hungry and they recommended us to visit Cheddars. We has a group of 8 and came for lunch. I ordered the lunch combo of buffalo chicken wrap with side of soup and salad and my husband ordered a full rack of ribs, brocolli casserole and corn with Texas sweet tea. The portions are generous. I tried some of the ribs and it was delicious. We ended up coming here the next day foe lunch too. I ordered a 6oz sirloin with a loaded baked potato and broccoli casserole, my husband ordered pasta. The sirloin was over spiced and salty for my taste., pasta was OK. If I visited again, I would try other items on the menu or order the ribs again read more

The server only came back one time and we had to ask her for more drinks but she never even asked the others if there needed any more. I'd driven past this restaurant MANY times but finally visited on the recommendation of a co-worker and I'm glad I did. I would say it's a less expensive version of the cheesecake factory minus the abundance of cheesecake options. They have a varied menu with many options to choose from. We had the chips and queso ($4.49) for an appetizer, basic but good. For dinner we ordered the key west chicken ($9.49) and steak and shrimp ($13.99) with broccoli and mashed potatoes as the 2 sides. The portions were generous and the food was perfectly seasoned and well cooked. It was delicious! For dessert we ordered coffee (no cappuccino here :( but none the less the Colombian coffee was great. Fresh, hot, strong coffee just how we like it. We had it with the mini dessert parfaits ($1.49/ea.) Our total bill + tax (not including tip) was $39.27. Nice casual place with dim lighting - full bar and nice modern décor - plus great service from Kathryn. How can you beat that? Hands down THE best restaurant in the area. My wife and I found this place and discovered it is simply amazing. We go maybe twice a month and we are from Illinois but everything is worth it. Everything is scratch made so you can't go wrong. There are no reservations so make sure you go during off hours which is after 8 o'clock or before 6 o'clock otherwise you are going to wait at least an hour on or more on the weekends. It is worth the wait though. I haven't even touched on the best part the prices they are cheap! For a steak and ribs dinner with 2 sides you're talking $17 where else can you find that? Ok, when this restaraunt opened, they were the absolute best, and their service and food was outstanding. I have literally been here dozens of times, since they are one of the closest restaraunts to my house. I even took friends from out of town, and wasn't embarrassed. But let me tell you, the management and service orientation of this place has slid downhill rapidly since they opened. In fact, if you want to feel totally ignored, try take out from this place. They almost always ignore your order, they take orders from the bar, they will put you on hold for 20 minutes, and when you ask to go talk to a manager about it, you will be totally blown off. In fact, when they sent out flyers, they had the wrong number on the flyers. I went to the bar, a manager, and several employees about that. How stupid can you be, incurring the cost of direct mail advertising, and not caring if the phone number is correct. All the employees thought it was funny. Meanwhile, i continued to recieve those flyers for 3 more months, with the bad phone number still on it. Management here should be fired. They could do a brisk business from take-out, as well as from in house, but i have never seen such a "call someone who cares" attitude. The first time I went to Cheddars with a friend we waited 1 hour to be seated. We ordered two drinks from the bar, water, and an appetizer first. We got the appetizer 15 minutes into waiting but had no drinks. Not even water! We asked to get some water and the server brought that out. Next our dinner came. Still waiting on our drinks from the bar.... Let's just say our drinks were our desert. I ordered the ribs and shrimp. It was very good but cold. My guess is it was so busy the server didn't see it come up. My friend ordered the pot pie. It was very dry and the filling had only about 2 pieces of chicken. The prices were reasonable but they were lacking everywhere else. I waited two weeks and gave the place another try. Still very crowded and loud. Food was better I had the Asian salad this time and my husband had the rib eye steak. We did not attempt to order drinks this time. I would not return to Cheddars during dinner hours at least it is way too busy and the staff doesn't know quite how to handle it yet. I am sure this could improve with time. read more

I was looking forward to trying this place. My boyfriend and I meet up in Kenosha once a week for lunch and enjoyed the surrounding restaurants. Today for lunch we decided to try Cheddars...finally! We were greated by the friendly host and seated. Looking over the menu everything sounded good, only making us more excited to try the food. 20 minutes passed and no one came to our table. There was no introduction,no water, and no check in to see if we were ready. 2 other tables were seated, greated, and given water, that came in after us. We didnt have much time, (we both live an hour away in opposite directions and my boyfriend works second shift) so we ended up getting up ad leaving. I love cheddars! The food rocks! Its comparable to a Fridays or Chili's but way tastier! However, I believe the staff isn't trained very well. We've experienced great confusion from the staff. For example, regarding the lunch combos (my friend wanted the combo with soup and fries (two sides) and the waitress had to ask her manager if that could be done. We've had drinks mixed up (coke vs diet coke). We've had orders screwed up several times. For example I ordered the loaded baked potato soup and was brought a loaded baked potato. My husband ordered the chicken fried steak and they prepared chicken fried chicken for him. First timer and in driving clothes (t-shirt and shorts) since I was coming back from Ohio from a conference. They welcomed me in and gave me VIP treatment. The place is nice and I could have changed into business clothes I had but weary from driving and have 2 more hrs to go. The food was just as excellent as the service.
