I decided to try this place for the first time today and have lunch with my girlfriend. When I pulled in the parking lot was full and I started to get discouraged however there's plenty of parking in the backside of the building near the gym. I had already had it set in my mind that it was going to be too busy to accommodate us so we had a Plan B however once we walked inside they had plenty of seating. Service was great. This restaurant is new to PSL, first 2 times a great experience. Last night, horrible. We waited 20 minutes before be approached , ordered a glass of wine and mix drink for my husband. Waited 20 minutes more, our food was served. Still no drinks. My husband went to the bar to see what is going on, our drinks were at the end of the bar, he went down and got them himself. Waitress said the bar was behind on 14 checks. Very sad, place in nice, nice bar but service like that will kill a place in under a month. Had dinner there with my husband. Our area tends to be pretty sleepy on a Monday night but this place was busy! I had the New Orleans pasta with shrimp, chicken and sausage and my husband had a burger. Our waiter, Vaughn, was awesome. He offered us a free salad since it was out first visit. Went with my mother in law for a Monday lunch. Not busy, seated right away. Ordered the lunch combo of half sandwich and soup. I added a salad for a dollar more. Only two soups to pick from, I chose the chicken tortilla though it should be called tomato tortilla because there was way more tomato than chicken. That said, it was still yummy and a large portion. I had the half Monte Christo and it was so alluring in it's deep fried goodness that I was nearly finished before I remembered to take a picture. The salad was huge, so much so I thought for sure I would be mischarged. No way it could only be a dollar more, but it was. Salad came with a honey croissant and it was flakey yummness. Being very generous with the stars. Really 3 stars plus 1 for their philosophy of making a lot of their items from "scratch". The philosophy doesn't work so well, but give them credit for trying. I had the 1/2 rack of ribs and shrimp combo with fries / slaw. Ribs standard OK, Grilled shrimp had good flavor but for an extra $4 for four small shrimp, kind of lost its value. Slaw was very "watery" but tasted good. Fries were average good. Wife had the triple combo app (fried chicken fingers, loaded potato skins, fried cheddar bites. She liked it. I thought the potato skins were nasty, and the other items just average. Service was fine. The prices are actually not bad (overall) for what you get (good selection of sides with the entrees for instance). They sell bottles of decent quality wine at lower prices than the competition. It's our second time here and it's another great meal. Eileen ordered the baby back ribs and I had the bourbon salmon again. This time I ordered the mashed potatoes instead of the baked. It was delicious. Next time, though, I will order the corn on a separate dish as the bourbon sauce mixed in the corner and I had spicy corn. The ombiance is pleasant but it is a bit noisy. It was pretty good , my waitresses was really nice and fast. A little too fast. My food came out way too fast and we ask her to put it in the back to stay warm. Everything came out at once, appetizer salad then meal. Most people won't complain, but I did not want to eat my meal cold. My waitress never checked up on me after that, so I never got a refill on my drinks. But what struck me the most was after I paid my bill, I started getting a stair from another waitress. Had her hands folded and just starring. A little later I finally heard her say I'm waiting for them to get up it's been 45 minutes. Mind you, it was not Busy nor was it closing time. Cheddar was great when it first opened. The quality and service are going down hill as time goes on. The ribs are very inconsistent one day they will be amazing the next it will all be just fat. Been here 2x now and both times were a good experience. Though often busy, the wait was less than expected. Staff was super friendly and fast. The spinach and cheese dip appetizer arrived quickly and is very good. Side salad is excellent, has egg in it, comes with a honey butter croissant that is amazingly good! We ordered chips and queso dip to start, chips were very stale and half broken then we ordered a draft beer and drink .. took 20 mins for drinks and they brought us Cesar salad to start which was very odd shredded lettuce no flavor dry without any dressing blackened lettuce. They finally brought us 2 waters as we waited for our drinks which came 25 mins later waitress said bar was backed up. Then our food arrived quickly before we could even finish appetizer. Friendly staff and very good service. The floor manager was attentive and gave us plenty of buttered croissants which were delicious. I had the chicken fried steak and my wife had the broiled white fish. The wife enjoyed the fish but my chicken fried steak was not so good. It looks huge but is mostly breading with a thin piece of meat about 1 1/2 times the size of a McDonalds hamburger paddy buried in the middle...no taste either...bland. For those not interested in reading a lot, see the second paragraph. For starters, the restaurant was bustling and beautiful. Our waitress, Cherie, was very friendly and informative. I'm not sure if it's because I'm from NY but I haven't been to a restaurant that informs you about the history, style, and top selling items like that, but it is a welcome change from what I'm used to, that being simply receiving a menu and making a choice or having to ask many questions. The first thing our waitress did was inform us of the scratch kitchen, and explained to us that a scratch kitchen prepares everything "from scratch" and that included even sauces, drinks, batters for frying the food, etc. She made many suggestions and told me about several delicious specials, prefacing this with the fact that most of her personal meals come from their place. One of the reasons I wanted to review the place was the fact she informed me about, that Cheddar's uses little to no public advertising so that they can use the extra money that would be used there instead on beautification of their establishment and on keeping the product fresh. For me personally, I've never had so much food at the given price points, and when I saw the portion sizes I immediately expected very low quality. But the food they give is fantastic. I didn't expect to be blown away by a simple chicken tenders meal, as it's what I have most at restaurants. I haven't had any better, and the large variety of homemade sauces made them even better. I have to talk about the cleanliness as well, as it was refreshing to see. A lot of restaurants I've been to clean the tables and stop there unless there is a very obvious splash of something on the chair. Here they were thoroughly washing the tables, not just a fast wet-wipe, they washed the seats, and detached the booth seats to sweep underneath, something I have only seen done on television. Doing this appeared to be a 2-3 person task, but they did it with a smile and efficiency. The last thing I'll mention is the time it took for us to get our food, as I see others mentioning it in their reviews of the place. The food took a while to get to us, about 20-30 minutes for our entrees, but the appetizer was unlimited in its refills and for the quality of the food received it was worth the wait, especially considering the fact that our food was made from scratch. Good rule of thumb for any restaurant owner reading this. People will wait for good food, don't rush to get it to the customer if it cuts back on quality. At Cheddar's the wait is longer than most places I've been, aside from maybe Olive Garden. The consequence is that their hard work on the food shows in the taste. When I move to the area from NY, this will be possibly the only place I go out to eat. In summary, the atmosphere is a bustling and happy one where I felt at home and informed, the food was fantastic, the portion sizes were shockingly big for the high quality and low price, and they rely on word of mouth instead of advertisements so they can spend more money on keeping the place beautiful and the food fresh. I haven't had a better restaurant experience before, and with the amount of food I have left from that day I'm still experiencing it the following day, and it's still good reheated. I feel guilty having to throw it away, it's that good. read more

We went to this Cheddar's for a work retirement party. We were a group of 30 who called ahead days ago to make arrangements. We went at 5:00 pm to get in before the dinner crowd. It was 45 minutes before we were even served water. Our round of drinks came at 6:20 pm. Appetizers came at 6:30 pm. Our food did not come until 7:20 pm! Unacceptable. The manager on duty was no help and at one point said "you are a party of 30 wanting separate checks so this is what you can expect." The table was never cleared. We did not get our food in any sensible order. I finally left at 8:00 pm with a to go box. It took 30 minutes to get my check. We were ignored, mistreated and we will never go back. Everyone says the service sucks but the food is good. The food would be good if I wasn't so upset about waiting over two hours. Before the food came out we all asked for it to be made to go since it was so late. The food came on plates and they brought to go boxes at some point. Total failure on every level. The wait staff is unable to handle a big party even with plenty of advance warning. The management had no idea how to make things flow better. We were told we would get a 10% discount for the wait and when the checks finally came...no discounts were given. read more

We are new to the area and I heard great things about Cheddar's. My friend had gone and enjoyed it and then my boyfriend went and said it was really good. He even brought home a dessert that I tried that was delicious. A couple weeks ago I didn't feel like making dinner so my kids and I went to check it out. After over 30 minutes she came over and said "Oh you didn't get your appetizers yet". I then mentioned that I also still didn't get my beverage. Approximately 7 minutes passed and then our appetizers arrived. STILL no lemonade arrived. About 3 minutes later our dinner came. We hadn't even had a chance to eat our apps...but STILL no lemonade. The food was just decent. My daughter got nachos, my son ordered chicken tenders and fries and I got the ribs. I definitely will not get them again. They were kind of bland once you bit into them and they were quite fatty. I hardly took a few bites. The sides were good. I liked the cheesy broccoli casserole and those croissants were amazing! I finish my dinner and then my drink arrived. Our server came over with our check and didn't even ask if we wanted dessert. I had to inform her that we in fact DID want to order dessert. The cake wasn't even as good as when my boyfriend had brought it home the week before- but it was okay. Overall it had potential but the service really ruined it for me. I don't think I will be back. Horrible experience. Waited two hours from being seated to being served. It wasn't just us as the table behind us had the same experience. Food quality was average at best. Combination of too many patrons, not enough waitstaff, and inexperienced waitstaff. This was my first (and last time) here. The atmosphere was welcoming, and the waiters and waitresses made sure that you felt comfortable and were happy with the experience and the food. The service was a little slow, but the food was very good. We decided to go again on Feb. 23, which was a Saturday. The place was crowded, and after waiting 20 minutes, we were seated. We gave the waitress our order within 5 minutes after being seated. She was very friendly. My wife ordered a Sirloin steak, cooked with only a little pink, and NO Seasoning. I ordered a grill cheese and bacon sandwich with fries (extra crispy). After waiting 35 minutes, our food arrived. My wife's steak came cold, along with cold broccoli and a warm potato. My grilled cheese was barely warm, and the fries were limp and cold. We sent the orders back. 10 minutes later, the steak came back, but way too well done. The broccoli was warm, not hot, so she ate the broccoli and asked for a new steak. My Grilled cheese was o.k. but the fries were not crispy, and they were just warm, not hot. I didn't want to make a second complaint about my order, so I ate it as it was. Another 10 minutes and the steak comes back. This time it came back too rare. The waitress apologized and had them cook it again. lt finally came back, but it was Highly seasoned. It was now over an hour since we sat down so she decided to eat it.
