This is probably the one of the horrible experiences I ever had, I went with my family for my birthday to eat in my favorite restaurant, and what a nightmare. They were extremely busy , so we have to wait for about 30 minutes, then it took like 45 minutes to get the food to the table, the waitress bring us the drink and then disappear, my family ate , with no drinks,the waitress brought us the food and disappeared again, my food was missing I never got it. My family finished eating and I never got my food he apologized and told us he forgot, I asked for the manager and he acts like it wasn't a big deal, He offered he will take it out my bill lol, and a free dessert to take home I never ate lol.This was my favorite restaurant but what a disappointment, never again. Tried this restaurant for the 1st time on Sunday around 6:00pm. We were seated right away in a spacious & comfortable booth. Restaurant was clean & nicely decorated (brick & stone walls with contemporary drum lighting). We ordered Wisconsin Cheese Bites for appetizer. I'm a vegetarian so I kinda made up my own "entree": penne pasta noodles with Cajun Alfredo sauce with broccoli casserole. My husband got the fried shrimp with side of fries & mac & cheese. Hubby and I went for a late lunch or early dinner...and our first visit. The entrance is unusual with the revolving door gismo. The interior is nice. The menu was with enough choices that I feel with a large group all could find something to satisfy. Hubby got hamburgers and I chicken & shrimp. The food was good, but not great or worth returning for. I ordered green beans and broccoli casserole. The green beans good, but think caned and the casserole was disappointing. I actually had a mediocre to bad time at the St Petersburg location and I was hoping for a better experience at the Carrollwood location, as it was my fiance's first time at a Cheddar's. We got the Citrus miso Salmon and the Grilled Tilapia/Grilled Shrimp with Mango Salsa. Both tasted fine, but they looked like something we would plate for ourselves at home, aka good enough but no finesse or care whatsoever. We arrived a little after 6pm on a Friday night expecting a wait. We were told 15 minutes which I was ok with but asked about the bar area. Hostess told me high tops are first come first served. There happened to be a two top open that worked for us so we went & sat right down. Other than the in & out of waiters and people looking for open seating it was nice. Our waiter came quickly and made suggestions. We got two teas he kept refilled. Also onion rings that were very good. I ordered the veggie plate with tortilla soup instead of salad. Tortilla soup was a little salty. Coleslaw was good a little sweet. Mac & cheese was tasty but cold already. My favorite side was the red beans & rice with sausage mixed in. It's spiced just right! Now the only disappointment was the loaded baked potato. It was a potato with cheese & sour cream! That's not what I expect for a loaded potato. Husband got the chicken fried chicken with mashed potatoes & green beans- all was good there but I was surprised the green beans are from a can! All in all a good experience but the beer selection stinks! Also by 7pm people were lined up to get in so try to go by 6. It's new & popular I get that. We can't complain about portions either! This is one of my fave restaurants. The food is phenomenally good,with everything truly tasting like it was made from scratch. A few of my faves are the broccoli casserole and the baked potato soup. This establishment also offers the best drink I've ever had, The Painkiller. It tastes amazing and has coconut on the rim for an extra touch of flavor. There is a two drink limit though on this drink,so drink it slow. The service is awesome,even during busy times. read more

First and last!!! I had a baby German roach walking right next to me on the booth. It was right after we finished our meal. I didn't want to make a huge deal. I don't want to go back until they show a certification that the place is roach free. I'm not seeking for a free meal or anything. I'm just trying to make people aware this place is new and has roaches!! We told the manager and I know there's nothing they can do, also heard the waitress saying I'm not dealing with that. My first impression was "WOW" for its ambiance and service but for the food I might think about it. I visited this restaurant with my husband on a Friday night . Wow there is huge waiting line outside and inside. Staff told us waiting time was 70 mins to dine in. We thought it might be worth if it, when we saw huge number of people. How ever we managed to get seats on Bar and escaped those 70 mins waiting period. We saw many people ordering Onion rings as appetizer and we thought to give a shot for it. We ordered it and as main course o ordered Alfredo pasta with chicken. My husband order his drinks, drinks seems to be interesting. Onion rings are really good with their home made ranch and Cajun dipping. Later to the main course am not impressed with Alfredo pasta. it was dry and just ok but chicken is tender and seasoned well. Sadly, my experience last night mirrors many. First off when mentioning to the hostess that it was my wife's birthday she informed us "we don't really do anything, I mean we have a cookie but the that's about it" which we never received. While waiting the expected 30-35 mins to be seated my wife was impressed to find they had a family bathroom (great for dads not wanting to take their 4yr old into the men's room) poorly stocked and extremely dirty. That's where the kid friendliness ends. We quickly found out that they offer no crayons or small activity books for the kids, when asked it was said " yea, I wish we did, a lot of people ask for them" Be careful the floor in the restaurant is very slippery, like they mopped it using the same mop from the frying station. Service was run of the mill average at best, sometimes on point but other times your looking around the room for your server to fill your drink or obtain some extra napkins. I was always told the the word TIPS stood for TO INSURE PROMPT SERVICE but it's hard to find servers that work to earn a tip rather they just expect it. The food was brought to our table in a timely manner and looked decent. We soon realized what other reviewers stated was true, undercooked this, overcooked that and no flavor. I could have bought a steak and Publix and cooked it better. When brought to the attention of the server she said she would be right back. When she returned she stated "we're going to get take off the appetizer for the problem" what a poor way to manage a restaurant! It's a shame, we were so excited to have a new restaurant close by that was reasonably priced and had such a great selection of food. If they keep it up maybe they'll put in a decent restaurant in its place. read more

What happened to Cheddars? The buttery croissants were over baked and crunchy, the popcorn shrimp appetizer was greasy and over cooked. I ordered a house salad i bar was if a meal after that. Husband ordered the chicken pot pie. Those last two items were good. Step it up if you expect customers to return. Goodness it will be awhile. read more

I love going to Cheddars in Dale Mabry... the staffs are so so friendly !!! The ambiance is fabulous! Their menus definitely affordable and worth every penny!!! I love seating in the bar and watch my favorite sports! Bartenders are so nice and friendly! The foods always cooked to perfection! I love my southern chicken and fried fish so yummm!!! I was really impressed with Cheddar's. The decor was nice, the service was great, and the food was very good. Our server gave us great recommendations as we ordered some chips and queso as a starter. It came out very fast with a nice hot temperature. We added ground beef to it at no additional charge and it was a perfect amount to start out with. I had a tough time looking at the menu, as I wanted numerous things on there. That will keep me coming back... I decided to order the chicken sandwich with a side of mac n cheese. The sandwich came out nice and hot and the chicken breast was a great size and very juicy. Chicken at most places are usually on the dryer side. Cheddar's chicken sandwich was full of flavor and very good. I would definitely recommend it. It came with tons of bacon and the right amount of cheese and condiments. The side of mac n cheese was very good, but I wish there would of been more. It was nice and light and have good flavor. My one issue with cheddar's is the side situation. If you order a burger it comes with nothing and you have to purchase a side with it if you would like. My chicken sandwich came with one side at no charge. My girlfriend's salmon came with two sides. It felt a little inconsistent throughout the menu when it came down to what menu items came with none, one, or two sides especially when a lot of the price points are within $2-$3 of one another. Also, we've been the other locations in Brandon, Clearwater, and St. Pete and have really enjoyed the food, especially the prices. We came here for my son's 6th birthday dinner on a Wednesday night and were rather shocked at how busy it was. It seems as though everyone in Carrollwood was celebrating their birthday on the same day. We ordered the cheese fries with bacon while waiting for the rest of our party to arrive, and it was delish! The server we had was sweet, but it seems that she's relatively new since she forgot a few things we requested. Maybe she just wasn't as used to a busy restaurant and seemed to be all over the place. I ordered the pot pie, which is one of my favorites from Cheddar's and it tasted the same. My husband ordered the ribs and steak dinner, but they had run out of the ribs by the time we got there. He settled for the surf and turf which was just ok. Nothing special, probably the same quality as Chili's. We'll most likely be back since it's near us but I doubt we'll be regulars like we hoped we would be. The menu looked exactly like any one you would find at any chain restaurant. My mom had the Montecristo, which was the hit at the table! I went there yesterday even with my family to celebrate my moms birthday. My party was 21 people. When we called we were told that only 15 could sit a the table and the additional 6 would be split up. Fine. When we arrived it was 5 associates standing at the desk talking to a customer. I was finally acknowledged and was told to wait. They went and got someone who rudely stated that it would be an hour and half. They did not advise this over the phone. But that's fine. Even though they say a party of 8 and then 6 while I was standing there. One more person and that was my table. The manager came and stated that she would see what she could do. She somehow found the table for 15 and the additional 6, which was only 2 adult and 4 kids one begin a 6 month old. I'm going to blame Covid because I have never been treated this way at cheddars. I love everything from the food, atmosphere, and service. I always get the Dijon Chicken and Mushrooms with the broccoli cheese casserole as one of my sides. My husband ordered country fried steak and they forgot the gravy. I ordered ribs with a loaded baked potato and got a plain baked potato. When I called to complain, they asked if they could cook us another meal, like we want to go pick up again! They also said they thought I ordered the steak with no gravy. For my issue they are sending a $20 gift card. After all of this, I sat down to finally eat the ribs I normally love and they are terrible!
