This was one of the worst dining experiences that I have ever had. It was my family's first visit and it was our last. Food was horrible. Burgers overcooked and buns were hard as a brick. My aunt ordered the broccoli and cheddar soup and got potato without being asked if it was ok because they were out of broccoli and cheddar. Potato soup was microwaved and they attempted to melt cheese on it. I asked for lettuce tomato onion and thousand island dressing. I got an overcooked burger with wilted lettuce and no tomato and no dressing. It was just awful. Kitchen staff all were drinking in the food area which is a health department violation. When my aunt and mom paid their bill the server didn't have the money to give them change back. We had to wait over 30 minutes to even get our food. It was just horrible. We're never going back. I personally can't stand this place. The handful of times I've been here, I have been grossed out or just plain dissatisfied with the food. Service is better than the food, but not great. The first time I was here was years ago. I ordered blackened chicken and sides. The chicken tasted like it was dropped in ashes, one of my sides was cold, the other was alright and the only thing I actually ate. Another time I was here, I was on a vegan diet. I was told by our waiter that no, the vegetable platter was not vegan because half of the vegetable are cooked in animal fat or with meat. And the waiter rudely suggested I change my lifestyle because "many restaurants don't accommodate it"... He said that they couldn't cook the vegetables without it because they all come prepackaged. Cheddar's isn't cheap, so if it is freezer food, why don't the prices reflect that? The last time I was invited here by a friend, I stuck with a salad and kept my expectations low. Check number 38849, Table 51, Friday 7:30pm - 8:27pm 09/25/2020. Server Teaira B. Drink ordered was the Cheddars Painkiller. "Pusser's Rum, Cream of Coconut, Pineapple juice, Orange juice, toasted coconut rim, topped with nutmeg. $6.99" - that is straight off the menu. It arrives with a sad slice of pineapple, no cherry (as pictured), and zero toasted coconut. My server drops it off and leaves with no comment. I wait for her to appear again but she did not. I gave up and went to the actual bar (that should never happen with a good server). The bartender informs me that there is no toasted coconut and shows me the empty container with "just mush left" as she stated. I smiled and said then I do not want this drink and please remove it from my bill. Back to my seat where I wait for the server who does not come back until she brings our food out. Mind you she served two tables in the same area THREE times, made eye contact but did not walk over. So now I have my food in front of me and ask for a glass of water. I also ask her to make sure my drink is removed from my check. "Well we are out of toasted coconut". I replied that I know as I had to walk to the bar to find out. Now if the server knows that fact then they should tell your customer in which case I can decide then if I want the $6.99 drink or not. Nope. Moving on we both had ordered steaks. She never waited for us to check the steaks and did not come back to the table for TWENTY minutes. WHAT server does not check that your steak was cooked to your order???? Nope. She comes back in TWENTY minutes and asks if we want separate checks or one. - NOTHING about a dessert, maybe a glass of wine or even a refill for my mom. No refill for my moms soda. Because she never came to the table to ask. Oh and once we got the check the drink was still on it. Now I was overly polite and nice as my mom was celebrating her retirement. But let me tell you the service was the WORST I have ever had EVER. HORRIBLE. How do you not check on your customers? How do you not refill drinks? I could see if I was rude or impolite but I went above and beyond to be nice for my moms sake. Do yourself a favor and skip this place. POOR SERVICE should never be allowed. Especially during Co-vid 19 and the fact that the restaurant is half capacity with an extremely limited menu. No excuse. read more

Deserves Negative stars..Cheddars in Vienna, WV. I will NOT be going back. Tues Mar 10, 2021 at 630pm....My cousin got there and gave her name. The hostess said ok. My cousin said we only have 8 of us instead of 10 that we called ahead for. The hostess said "well its gonna be 30 minutes..I cant make the people hurry up and eat and leave." I walked in the door with my aunt and the manager came up to us and looked at me and said "You all are not allowed to sit inside and wait. And I was just told you all tore up a sign and sat down and said we ain't leaving." I said I just walked in the door and didn't even say anything to anyone. There was no hostess or greeter up front when I walked in. How do you even know if I'm alone or not. I guess since 3 black ladies were the only ones up there we were all together I told my fam let's go. I don't even wanna eat there now. My cousin went back in to talk to the manager who ended up apologizing and said it was a different person that told him that we tore up the sign (still no clue what sign he was talking about and still didn't see any paper on the floor or bench when we walked out). Not the 1st time we had bad service which is ssually when it's just us African Americans only and none of our Caucasian friends with us. I refuse to spend my time and money there. Gary did a fantastic job dealing with some high maintenance people in my group of 9 on the patio! Incredibly respectful to everyone and maintained a great attitude. My sister complained her beer wasn't cold [enough]. The stupid crap people get upset about, right Gary? Keep up the great job you're doing! I stopped in for a late lunch with my grandfather one afternoon around 2:30. There were some customers but it was not busy. It's another casual eating restaurant chain. We placed our order and lost track of time from chatting. I realized things seemed to be taking a long time but made the comment that I don't mind as long as the food is fresh. That was apparently the curse. Our server, Jeremy, brought out our food after about 25 minutes. Yep - it was cold. I guess the food had been sitting in the kitchen for about 10-15 minutes based on the temperature. The only time we saw Jeremy was within a couple minutes of getting our food and I was asking my grandfather if his was cold as well. We didn't see Jeremy until we were about done and I just wanted to get out. We had other things to do and didn't want to be delayed with trying to get a meal served hot. My grandfather ate his meal and I only had about half of my chicken/pasta dish. I won't be going back unless forced.... like at gunpoint. read more

First off the building is absolutely amazing, truly beautiful. When you walk in it's just as amazing as the outside with light features and fans. It has a nice feel and the temperature is perfect. You sit down and are greeted by your server. The energy is amazing and the servers look like they genuinely love their job. The food is reasonably priced but with the taste id pay ungodly amounts. I recommend the alfredo and the chicken. Also try the raspberry lemonade. The bathrooms are gorgeous and very clean. 11/10 I would definitely eat here again. read more

I have eaten at multiple Cheddars restaurants. This is the worst one. The service is consistently slow, and unless you order chicken tenders the food is mediocre at best. And the one thing they had that was decent, the Spasagna, they took off the menu. I recommend going somewhere else to eat. read more

Loved my server Holly who made sure that my visit was more than welcoming and really made me feel like I was a regular there even though it was my first visit, and Alex (My Bartender) was personable funny and brought an energy to the dining experience that is sure to get me back in the doors. Went with my husband and our two young kids last night. We generally try to stay away from tired chain restaurants, but hadn't tried this place yet. We ordered a rib eye, shrimp and steak and cheese fries for an appetizer. Fries were good. Lots of places throw cheese on top, heat it up and give it to ya. These were layered in cheese and had bacon on them, too. Serving size was huge, we could have filled up on that alone. I ordered my rib eye medium rare, as most places tend to overcook and I get it medium well. This was perfectly cooked. I was very pleased. The mashed potatoes weren't boxed crap and the red beans and rice were very tasty. He got the steak and shrimp and when the waiter asked if he wanted fried or grilled shrimp, my husband asked to have both and was accommodated without issue. His steak was small, smaller than the Palm of his hand, but he enjoyed it and it was cooked the way he ordered. He got cheesy broccoli and Mac and cheese. Both sides were great. My 6 year old ordered a burger. He was full from the appetizer so didn't eat it, and I did notice that it looked like a pre-packaged frozen burger when I went to reheat it today, but I could be wrong. So, overall, we had a very nice dinner for under 50 bucks. Our waiter was a little busy, but attentive and nice. The atmosphere was clean and welcoming. The big fish tank had my 2 year old daughter in awe. It was actually a little hard to keep her seated, I should have brought a coloring book because she wanted to go check out the pretty fish. I'm kind of a foodie and I cook a lot, so I'm usually critical of food. We don't go out very often, as 50 bucks will make 5 meals in our home and I'm always regretful of spending money on restaurant food, especially when it isn't great- but this was worth while. I enjoyed your restaurant, it was beautiful and the staff were friendly. However, there was no vegetarian options, only a vegetable plate which was a salad and 4 of your sides. However, when I ordered the "rice and beans" for my vegetable plate...there were slices of sausage in my rice and beans. Maybe it should have been labeled " rice, beans and sausage?" There are so many people eating a vegetarian and vegan diet for their health, and I feel it would be wise for your restaurants to label correctly and offer more meatless options. This way people can enjoy your restaurants and want to come back to eat. read more

Came here today for lunch with my mom. There were two greeters at the front door one was very friendly the other had the personality of a mop. we asked for a table in the bar and was told to pick our table. the nice hostess brought us menus. Our server was nice and prompt in getting our order. i regretfully can not remember his name. the sweet tea is good. I had a garden salad. my only complaint is that they do not have egg for the salads. My mom had the loaded potato bacon soup which she said was delicious. we split the croissants...which are amazing. cheap lunch...in and out...as we left there were now three girls by the door. the nice host wished us a good day, a second girl held the door for us...and the sour host just stared at us even when i said thank you have a good day. we will be back to eat at this restaurant again. read more

I ordered a steak. Medium rare. The sides that came with it were good. But the steak itself was a disaster. Black on the outside and blood in the middle. Tells me someone doesn't know how to cook a steak. The grill was too hot and burned the outside before the inside started cooking. The only thing earning them a second star is the place looked great and was nice and clean, and the waitress took the steak off the bill because after two bites I couldn't eat it. Came here for lunch today and sooo disappointed. Our server was the slowest of slow. The food took 35 mins to hit our table. They where not busy just a couple other tables occupied. Drinks took forever, and once emptied they remained empty! Food came and was tasty but man it sucks not having a drink to wash it down. I was extremely surprised at how good this is. It's located in a town where family live, and I was often told to avoid it. While shopping at the mall, we ended up going here for lunch. Three meals and a carry out...3/4 were outstanding and the 4th was pretty decent! Shrimp, burgers, soup, fries all exceeded expectations. The interior was bright and cheery. The server was very friendly, prompt, and helpful. The only thing I can't wholeheartedly recommend is the chicken pot pie. I love salt and it made my lips pucker and I drank at least three glasses of tea with lunch to try and compensate! I'd go back if I was in the area and hungry. read more

Worst service ever. Multiple ppl walked by and no one spoke to me at the host counter initially. You may not be the hostess but you can let me know that the hostess is coming back. Our favorite place to eat. Food is always delicious. Service is always prompt and friendly and we have never had a bad meal there. My wife loves the salmon with bourbon glaze. My favorite is the Seafood Pasta. Broccoli cheddar soup is to die for. My only complaint is they don't change their menu often enough. Will go back. The food was ok the service was horrible! After living in Parkersburg a year and hearing mixed reviews about Cheddars we decided to take our family to try it out. We went just after the dinner rush, and was seated within about 15 minutes. Our group of 8, was comfortable around a table that's about the most positive thing from our experience. It took about 20 minutes to get part of our drinks once we ordered. My husband never did get his, we were there over an hour and the waitress got pissed when we questioned her about it, she glared and said it's not like I can go behind the bar and make it myself. When we got to order our food about 30 minutes in, I asked her to go clockwise around the table because my oldest son didn't know what he wanted. She told me no, that's now how she does it and we will order in the way she prefers to go. And she did, even though I asked her to then skip him, she refused and said I have to go in order or I will be messed up. Ok fine, whatever. We order. Wait forever and our appetizer comes, the spinach dip was good, average run of the mill spin dip. The kids ordered the variety platter that came with Mac and cheese bites, chicken tenders and something else. They seemed to enjoy it and it was gone in no time. Our food came, with people missing sides and/ or dipping sauces. They portions were large, which was nice but guessing due to their size, were not all completely warm. Once we were handed our food we asked for some sauces, refills and the missing drink and she said she will get it but she never returned with any of it. Instead she went to a booth back in the corner and pretended to clean it off for the remainder of our visit. I am hoping to try it again and give them another chance, but I don't know how soon I will be able to convince my husband to drop a couple hundred dollars on mediocre food and horrible service. read more

My family and I arrived at cheddars at 3:30pm today (9/19/20). Was seated right away on the patio... Then was forgot about. Never seen a waitress or waiter one. We waited 25 minutes. Other people around us were being waited on. We told a lady inside and all she said was "oh I'm so sorry that happened." My family and I left.. hungry. First time I went here with my family we were seated quickly & our order was taken. My 5 year old ordered a kids meal but when they brought it out, the waitress realized she put the order in as something else. Everyone else ate while my son had to sit with nothing ( i did give him my food when we realized it was taking so long). We went with a friend & her son & the waitress took his meal off because he hardly ate any, yet I had to pay for my childs food although he had to wait 20 minutes after all the other food was brought out. By that point she put it in a to go box because he was full from my food. I thought I would give the place another try, the food was good. So the 2nd time I went the waitress dropped a tray of about 8 pops on my lap, our table & my infant son in the high chair. She brushed the ice on the floor under our table, said she was so sorry & quickly walked away. The tables near us gave us their napkins to clean up the mess ... My pasta bowl was filled with pop. When she finally came back we explained that i was unable to eat my pasta, since she dropped the drinks not even 5 minutes after we had our food. She told us she could have them make a new one but it would be a while & everyone else would be done eating. Then they refused to take it off my bill because they had offered to remake my food & i refused. I will never return to Cheddar's & will constantly tell everyone I possibly can how horrible the service is there. read more

Oh how the mighty have fallen! I loved Cheddar's when it first opened, but the last trip ruined a dinner for me and my husband. Our waiter Alikka was awful. We waited over ten minutes just to be waited on. Our food took over 45 minutes and was cold when served. Plates were warm, but food wasn't. My husband took pictures of the bathroom to show me. Urinals were running over and all the toilets were plugged. I will never set foot in there again. According to other complaints, management feels customers complain to get free food. If the service, food, and bathrooms are bad; I think management needs replaced! read more

Have visited about 10 times since opened in Vienna, Wv. It's been over a yr since last visit because of my experience the last couple. I had found a black hair cooked into the green beans & waitress made no attempt to offer resolution. I could not eat the dinner afterwards but still charged. The last time I visited I ordered the Homestyle breaded chicken. I cut into it & it was completely undercooked.Disgusting! Manager could not believe it but she at least took it off my bill.
