Went there tonight for dinner. Delicious meal. Portions were kinda on the large size. Excellent service. Thumbs up for service, food, and price.

It was My birthday yesterday so of course hubby surprised me with lunch from one of my fave restaurants! I'm having to be on a dairy free/soy free diet and the menu doesn't really specify either allergy, so I had to make my best guess this trip. Normally I'm a sucker for the Monte Cristo. This trip I ordered the lemon pepper chicken (it's grilled so I figured I was safe with no breading), sweet baby carrots and green beans. The croissants came out hot and I KNOW it wasn't the right thing to do but I devoured a whole one, SO stinking delicious. I'll pay for it later, but I'm not scared haha. Our server was Courtney, I told her I would give her a shoutout! Great service girl!! Keep up the service with a smile (I know you were exhausted though, you had ALOT going on and yet still managed to take care of refills). A++

The food reminds me of someone's grandma making homemade things from scratch, real nice honey touch. The service was a little iffy, I was talking to my friend about her mom and the waiter comes over and says, "I like moms"... keep in mind he looked in his 20s. Idk. Weird. The restaurant was very nice but a little squished in the seating area. Overall food was great! But the service wasn't.

I am sorry to amend my ratings. We quit going to Cheddars for five years as we could not get waited on and did not even have a glass of water after 20 mins. We tried them again and it was very good and have been going fine in and out. Friday at 545 was our scheduled pick up time. It was 15 mins before we got our food and we were there at 530. The food was stone cold. The few tenders were for combo ribs cold and tough. Cheese on broccoli casserole so cold it had hardened into a clump. Carrots were floating on cold water. French fries on my husband's plate were cold and burnt. Shrimp MIGHT have been ok other than cold shrimp is cocktail shrimp not fried. Everything on all 3 plates were cold. The portions of everything scant Honey butter croissants I had asked for extra honey butter, barely had any on it. They were not only cold but stale. I mean dry in the middle stale. And after shelling out a little over $90 there should be good food and reasonable portions. The only thing positive I can say is that the portions were so bad you didn't want to eat

always good food, especially the buttered croissants they bring out as starters. Peak hours are always crowded but worth the wait.

Waited thirty minutes before getting waited on after having to ask twice, an hour later still no food, it was the worst I had experienced.

The special was good, my boyfriend loved his CFS. However, the waitress, Maya I believe her name was, very blatantly was flirting with my boyfriend. I am always the one that speaks for us when we are eating and I am always polite, I attempted to do so and realized she is looking at my boyfriend, smiling and looking in his eyes. I tried to speak to her a couple of times and she was just cheesin it up to my bf. Not looking at me at all. I don't consider myself insecure, we've been out to eat 100s of times, and this experience was a first. There's an acceptable amount of that, but Maya was a bit over the edge. If Ms Maya wants a bigger tip, she needs to stop flirting with people's men. He may have paid, but I decide the tips, and I often pay. It would be to her benefit to stop flirting with customer's men, and start looking at the lady at the table. It's good business and manners!!!! Off its first appearance, the restaurant appears as your classic no-frills, get-what-you-asked for establishment. There is lots of outdoor seating, very fair pricing, and a surprisingly extensive menu; I doubt you'll fail to find something you enjoy here. Overall it seemed like a location that would be bumping in conjunction with Baylor college nights, post church service, or otherwise Waco-oriented affairs. My only complaint was really the smell. We came near close when some workers were cleaning, however there was an apparent chemical stench within the patio, between the inside seating and outdoor seating. My partner ordered the sausage po boy, while I ordered the fried chicken plate, wish mashed potatoes & gravy + green beans. The wait was rather long, which can be attributed towards the chicken's cook time - which might be front scratch. After we got our plates, I certainly couldn't complain. The chicken was decently sized and decadent with flavor. Consistent, strong Cajun spicing littered the tray and chicken, while its interior was extremely juicy and filled with flavor; additionally, it still maintained structure and provided a nice crunch on the surface. The mashed potatoes were equally as enjoyable. The gravy complemented the potatoes well, and established an equilibrium through texture. The green beans however, were not my favorite. They initially appeared fine on the surface, but became watered down and lacking in flavor the farther down the bowl you went. I would not be surprised if these beans were canned. I would certainly find myself eating here again. Its biggest appeals are the prices, genuine quality of food, and disposition. It is not perfect, but it is more than satisfactory. If you cannot get over the minor inconveniences that you may run into here, then you probably shouldn't be eating Cajun anyways.
