Went there tonight for dinner. Delicious meal. Portions were kinda on the large size. Excellent service. Thumbs up for service, food, and price.

It was My birthday yesterday so of course hubby surprised me with lunch from one of my fave restaurants! I'm having to be on a dairy free/soy free diet and the menu doesn't really specify either allergy, so I had to make my best guess this trip. Normally I'm a sucker for the Monte Cristo. This trip I ordered the lemon pepper chicken (it's grilled so I figured I was safe with no breading), sweet baby carrots and green beans. The croissants came out hot and I KNOW it wasn't the right thing to do but I devoured a whole one, SO stinking delicious. I'll pay for it later, but I'm not scared haha. Our server was Courtney, I told her I would give her a shoutout! Great service girl!! Keep up the service with a smile (I know you were exhausted though, you had ALOT going on and yet still managed to take care of refills). A++

The food reminds me of someone's grandma making homemade things from scratch, real nice honey touch. The service was a little iffy, I was talking to my friend about her mom and the waiter comes over and says, "I like moms"... keep in mind he looked in his 20s. Idk. Weird. The restaurant was very nice but a little squished in the seating area. Overall food was great! But the service wasn't.

I am sorry to amend my ratings. We quit going to Cheddars for five years as we could not get waited on and did not even have a glass of water after 20 mins. We tried them again and it was very good and have been going fine in and out. Friday at 545 was our scheduled pick up time. It was 15 mins before we got our food and we were there at 530. The food was stone cold. The few tenders were for combo ribs cold and tough. Cheese on broccoli casserole so cold it had hardened into a clump. Carrots were floating on cold water. French fries on my husband's plate were cold and burnt. Shrimp MIGHT have been ok other than cold shrimp is cocktail shrimp not fried. Everything on all 3 plates were cold. The portions of everything scant Honey butter croissants I had asked for extra honey butter, barely had any on it. They were not only cold but stale. I mean dry in the middle stale. And after shelling out a little over $90 there should be good food and reasonable portions. The only thing positive I can say is that the portions were so bad you didn't want to eat

The Burger was good but the steak bowl was very disappointing. It was $19 but the portion was incredibly small, I think it was one of the most expensive items in the menu, if not the most and it was really small. I had to share my burger with my mom bc the portion was so small that she was hungry after eating it. Other than that, the service was great. Way too overpriced for what it was. We kind of regretted going, especially because so many people recommended us to go.

In particular the deviled eggs and Brussels sprouts caught my eye, unfortunately the latter was sold out so I went with the sweet potato Both dishes I had were really good! The candied bacon paired really nicely with the creamy deviled egg, the hot sauce vinaigrette didn't add too much flavor, but honestly adding a significant amount of heat would've probably taken away from an already very tasty dish. The baked sweet potato on the other hand had a nice dose of heat from the Calabrian honey vinaigrette, the sweet heat combo worked really, I'm surprised I'd never come across a spicy sweet potato dish before, but I'll definitely have my eye out for it in the future Overall I had a very good experience and will definitely be back for future rest stop meals between Austin and Dallas!

Off its first appearance, the restaurant appears as your classic no-frills, get-what-you-asked for establishment. There is lots of outdoor seating, very fair pricing, and a surprisingly extensive menu; I doubt you'll fail to find something you enjoy here. Overall it seemed like a location that would be bumping in conjunction with Baylor college nights, post church service, or otherwise Waco-oriented affairs. My only complaint was really the smell. We came near close when some workers were cleaning, however there was an apparent chemical stench within the patio, between the inside seating and outdoor seating. My partner ordered the sausage po boy, while I ordered the fried chicken plate, wish mashed potatoes & gravy + green beans. The wait was rather long, which can be attributed towards the chicken's cook time - which might be front scratch. After we got our plates, I certainly couldn't complain. The chicken was decently sized and decadent with flavor. Consistent, strong Cajun spicing littered the tray and chicken, while its interior was extremely juicy and filled with flavor; additionally, it still maintained structure and provided a nice crunch on the surface. The mashed potatoes were equally as enjoyable. The gravy complemented the potatoes well, and established an equilibrium through texture. The green beans however, were not my favorite. They initially appeared fine on the surface, but became watered down and lacking in flavor the farther down the bowl you went. I would not be surprised if these beans were canned. I would certainly find myself eating here again. Its biggest appeals are the prices, genuine quality of food, and disposition. It is not perfect, but it is more than satisfactory. If you cannot get over the minor inconveniences that you may run into here, then you probably shouldn't be eating Cajun anyways.

The atmosphere is beautiful, the restaurant is clean, and the staff was friendly and attentive, so no complaints there. As for the food, it was just... okay. It wasn't bad by any means, but it also wasn't anything that made me think the drive or the hype was worth it. Everything tasted decent, just pretty average for the price. I expected to be wowed, but instead it felt like a solid breakfast spot with great branding. If you're already in Waco, it's worth checking out once for the experience and the ambiance. But if you're making a special trip just for the food, keep your expectations realistic.

We were greeted as soon as we walked in and directed to choose a table of our preference. The waitress quickly came over and grabbed our drink order while we looked at the menu. We placed our order and the waitress was very knowledgeable and able to answer our questions. She also informed us they work as a team so we can stop anyone when/if we need something. We started with the "Burning Bush" appetizer (crispy Brussel sprouts w/ lemon garlic aioli). YUM! They had just the right bite to them, and the glaze on them paired with the aioli was delicious! For our entrees we had the Golden Calf Burger w/ sweet potato fries and sriracha aioli and The Weight of Glory Sandwich w/ broccoli slaw. They were both incredibly flavorful and fresh! You can tell they locally source their ingredients and prepare them onsite. The portions are also plentiful, and we left with a takeout box. To round off lunch we tried the special mousse on the specials board (coffee flavored cheesecake mousse). It was so delightful we dug in before I could snap a pic. Just enough coffee flavor paired with chocolate sauce (not hersheys ). The big windows allow for a lot of natural light and lends to a welcoming and warm environment. We will for sure be back and bring others!
