Hidden Gem in a sleepy little town. We are no longer driving to Grand Rapids to get Chinese food, we are going here! Ordered Kung Pao chicken, beef lo mein, chicken fried rice, and crab Rangoon. All wonderful in texture, and spice. Beef and chicken was generous in proportion and very tender. No mystery meat here folks! Vegetables were fresh, and cooked perfectly. My family was pleased and impressed. Great carry out packaging, no leaky cardboard boxes, easy leftover storage. Place is neat and clean, and the best thing, happy pleasant service! This is our favorite Chinese take out place. Sometimes hard to get a hold of but it's worth the multiple phone calls to try to get through! Four stars only for the difficulty in connecting at times. Food is always fantastic. read more

Poor, and I mean poor service. Randomly closes often. Phone calls are rarely answered. Prices went up too, I believe more than doubled the cost of each meal. Used to be great, went downhill. read more

Never disappointed the food is always top notch. Chicken fried rice without onions is so good. The honey chicken did not skimp on the veggies or chicken. This food is always amazing. You have to try them. Take out orders usually ready in about 15 minutes when they are not busy. read more

I always loved this place.....they recently just opened up after a remodel and I am so thankful after placing a order I asked how much.... the same 3 meals I have always ordered usually costing around 54$ after the last price increase have now ended up costing 104$!!!! Ask the price before you show up and get blind sided. read more

First food review I've ever had to leave. I have been coming here for years, love the family, small business, all that good stuff. I could live with the price hikes after the remodel but when you're hit with bad customer service, then no apology or anything after a few miss understandings. They offer only take out but have tables for dine in. I asked about eating at the table and young girl said takeout only. Inside of building is in disrepair and ceiling has mold and water damage. Lights are out, vent falling from ceiling. They need a health department visit. read more

So on travel with work again I came across this restaurant in the very small town of Lake Odessa. This has a small cozy town feeling with a mixed oriental menu, I ended up with T9 (Thai)Spicy Szechuan House style(Chicken,Beef, Shrimp) which is mixed vegetables and a spicy coconut milk sauce. The service was good even through the lunch rush, that menu came with a egg drop soup which was a bit salty for me. It wasnt what I was expecting but was good for being a cabbage based soup. The tea was warming and comforting for a cold day around the lake. Would I come back again? Sure :) always good to support the local businesses. read more

Excellent, excellent food! Everyone in our party was very happy with their food. We didn't realize that they do not have seating anymore (just carry out), but we had come a long way to meet up with our group. They were super accommodating, pulled up some chairs and said we could sit inside to eat our food. That is great customer service. Thank you so much! read more

I haven't ever found a Chinese/Thai restaurant that I consider better than Chee Peng. Their egg drop soup is unique, yet the best. I prefer to order the Thai Noodle, spicy, with an egg roll. Other favorites are generals chicken and princess pork. You can't go wrong here. read more

This is my hometown Chinese place and although I've lived in many different cities in Michigan I ALWAYS come back to Chee Peng. It is the very best. The Crab Rangoon's are made fresh daily and are incredible. We love the sweet and sour chicken, sesame seed chicken, general chicken and fried rice. Would recommend a million times over! read more

We stopped for a snack of Crab Langoons (yes this is spelled correctly!) and an eggroll. These fried items were light and tasty and the Crab Langoon had green onions that seems to add a nice taste. My wife had the eggroll that she enjoyed. The server seemed a little rushed but was efficient. We will likely come back for a full meal when we are back this way again. read more

A Thai restaurant in Lake Odessa, population 2,000! That alone should tell you that it's worth it. They are quick and polite, and the food is simple, unpretentious, and good. They will adjust the heat settings (I like it very hot) but remember taste is relative and the staff is authentic (as in English as a second language) so be clear on what you want. Based on what we had, which were just apps, this was good! Crab Rangoon had green onion so that was nice. Egg roll cabbage was fresh and nothing tasted too deep fried. Sweet and sour sauce was pretty decent. I would like to come back and try a dinner. read more

Have been going to Chee Peng for years, as I grew up in Lake Odessa. I have yet to find a Chinese restaurant that I like more. The egg drop soup is a must. The egg rolls and crab langoons (as spelled on the menu) are also a great choice for appetizers. They have the best chicken fried rice, sweet n sour chicken, and sesame chicken I've ever had. So many good choices and all so good! read more

Worst customer service ever. It was my wife's birthday and we ordered $50 of take out food. My daughter went to get the food. They tried to jam all the food in one torn and soggy paper bag that further ripped and fell into a large puddle. When we called to have them replace the food they refused. For the past 10 years we have eaten there at least once a month but no more. read more
