I've been a loyal client here for almost 2 years, and I used to love coming because of the waxers and the great service. Sadly, many of the waxers I trusted are no longer here, and my recent experience left me very disappointed. They do have a 10-minute grace period, and I completely understand policies. However, I was running 14 minutes late and called ahead of time to let them know. I still made it to Pasadena within the grace period, but they refused to work with me. After being such a consistent client for nearly 2 years, I felt there was no flexibility or effort to accommodate me. read more

While this past experience was jolting, I will say the overall client services are amazing and they reached out fairly quickly. They genuinely apologized, offered a full refund and a free wax which meant a lot. They also reassured me they spoke to that person. Been coming her over a year for Brazilians after my regular lady retired. Berlin has been my favorite person to go to! She's so nice, and really makes sure to get your wax the way you want it. I also use their spray for ingrown hairs and it works wonders. For the price you pay for the spray, it lasts a long time! read more

this was my first time getting a wax and Reid was so nice and such a gem. I got a lower leg wax and she was very attentive to how I was feeling and making sure that I had a positive experience. the inside of this place is really relaxing and the customer service is amazing. there's free 90 minute parking in the plaza and you're sure to be in and out in no time. read more

I have been going to see Suzy for a while now and I absolutely adore her. In fact I kind of wanted to gatekeep her which is why I haven't left a review until now. She's great to talk to and gets my wax done so fast and flawless. Unfortunately I failed to book my next service in advance so I took a chance and went with a new waxer. Bad mistake. I now have patches of ripped off skin on my thighs where you can literally see where the wax strip was ripped off, this has never happened with Suzy before so I know it's not just a "your skin is sensitive and that happens" kind of deal. I'm so disappointed. TLDR: find a waxer you like and stay with them, not worth the risk to try someone new read more

The receptionist and my waxer Berlin were both super nice and professional. I felt comfortable throughout and I appreciated the extras - an aftercare card and a $5 off coupon to use with a couple months. Berlin was very efficient and I was in and outta there in like 15 minutes. There's parking in the lot but it's chaos on a weekend afternoon, so would aim to go in the morning or on a weekday in the future. read more

I LOVE wax candy! Especially this location! I've gone to both downtown and here. Even though I live downtown, I make the little trek over to Pasadena for many reasons. 1. Parking! 2. Staff is always nice. Every person I've gotten waxed by has been great. Easy to talk to and make the experience as comfortable as possible. 3. I was in a bind once on a hot day and didn't have time to drop my dog off (no way would I leave her in the car!) before my appt and they were graciously able to accommodate her so I didn't have to cancel. 4. I went earlier today and got booked with Suzzy! She was super nice, made me feel comfortable and was very quick for the services I booked. I am only a little disappointed because it wasn't until I got home that I did notice some hairs still on my armpits and legs and so I did have to go and grab my tweezers to finish the job. I like this place because of how easily you can book online and how they always run on time. I'm never waiting more than 5 minutes in the lobby after arriving for my appointment. I don't stick to one wax technician and have noticed that everyone is nice and does a good job, some more talkative than others (but that's ok!). They also sell waxing products if you need help with specific needs like ingrown hairs or dark spots, which is nice. There's also a parking lot where the shop is located, so no need to struggle with street parking! read more

I've been coming here mainly with Maria for my Brazilians since 2021. I've had a few of the other girls when she is not available, and service has always been amazing! Service is always quick, and as long as you keep up with your waxing within 6 weeks, you get a nice discount for making waxing easier for your waxer too! I have been coming to wax candy for a while now. I go to the Pasadena location. I used to go with Michelle, but since she left I now book with Berlin. I would definitely recommend her! She has a soft hand so it's not too painful when she does the waxes. She makes sure she gets everything off and she's very sweet! Scheduling is so easy and they are always timely. If you're booking for the first time I would just recommend getting here a little early because the parking lot does get busy especially around lunch hour. read more

Four months later, Wax Candy, the very first and only wax salon in Downtown Los Angeles opened it's doors. The girl who was supposed to do my waxing was already in a rush, rushing me when I got in there and was presenting with attitude. She had a bracelet on that kept rubbing my eyelid when she was working on my eyebrows, and I had verbalized to her in a nice manner originally, but she was having attitude already at me and basically being pretty rough when it comes to removing the wax. And then she missed a few spot and when I pointed out that she missed a spot, she was giving me attitude while telling me to lie down and then when I got back up after she was done and told me that she was done, she looked at me and was like what are you doing? I still need to put cream on you. And suddenly I feel gaslit because she was the one who told me to get up and then she followed that by asking if we have any problems because I am making her feel very uncomfortable here while giving me attitude. When really I haven't really verbalized anything and I have barely verbalized my concern about the eyelid and that's basically because her bracelet keeps touching my eyelid because it dingles down. The front desk lady have said that she tends to have attitude for whoever is last on her list and I find a very unfair that they book her as my cosmetologist if they know that that's the issue. If they're going to hire employees are representing their company I sure hope that they evaluate their personality and their customer service aspect because that is the most important when it comes to these kind of role and if they're not happy and don't wanna work here, they really shouldn't take additional clients or they shouldn't have the job here. As someone who works in a place of customer service, I always make sure that I don't bring my personal opinions or emotions in. This whole experience made me feel kind of uncomfortable and also feeling like I don't really want to come back and make an appointment with that person ever again. By the end of the session after she gave me the mirror I told her she had missed a few spot. I mean, there were clearly hair in those area, and she clearly was very upset by me pointing at things that I'm just merely pointing out at as anyone would and she is just showing her bad mood and the environment that didn't need that. And after this time, she was done, she not only did not let me check in the mirror. She also told me that I am good to go. I am very uncomfortable I am very disappointed with my experience and I don't wish that on anyone. When I finally got to my car, I noticed not only a few spots but many spot that she missed and I can't really even walk in because I'm kind of scared and worried to really deal with her and I honestly don't want her to ever service me ever again . And I hope that nobody becomes her victim because that is just some rough waxing services watching someone having a resting bitch face and attitude the whole time when really I just want to come here to be vulnerable and did nothing wrong.
