Because my skin has been broken out for 4 months, I got a facial. I went to a small place called Beauti 101 in Pasadena. The owner Michelle provides all the services. I would call it a boutique salon, clean and relaxing, but small and focused services. Michelle was good and she was working on me for the full time with the exception of 15 minutes to let a mask cure. There was lots of facial and neck massaging with hands, tools, and products. In the end she did address my skin problems (breakout) and my skin was plump and glowing for days after (still is) and she gave me solid advice. I just finished my first facial here and wanted to immediately write a review for Michelle. She is really incredible. Today was my first appointment and when I got there, she had me fill out a form and then looked at my skin to help me figure out which was the best facial for me. I got the facial that was $145 but she does give a 10% discount if you check in on yelp. The whole process was really amazing. She does the extractions using a needle with your approval. Even though they are painful, I was so surprised that at the end of the facial, my skin did not appear swollen at all. In fact, it was super smooth! I think it's because she is excellent at giving face massages. She said that she massages the fluid out of the lymph nodes and that really helps. My skin is glowing right now. I already can't wait to come back!!! A quick note that her office is not actually on Mission Street, but right behind. It is a live work loft and is the well designed. I don't trust anyone with my skin other than Michelle!! My cousin first introduced me to Michelle when she worked at a spa. She took me there as a treat when I was in high school! Ten years later I still come to her. I am 28 this year but I have always had oily, textured skin with large pores. I am not acne prone but I have a lot of blackheads. I love skincare. I read a lot about korean skincare and I want to prevent any premature aging I can. I was already using cult favorites from SKII, Mario Badescu, innisfree, etc. but I never felt like I saw real results. When I got engaged I knew I had to come consistently to Michelle for beautiful skin on my wedding day! So I bought a ten facial package and came to her every month during my engagement. This place is wonderful. I'm not sure how she works her magic, but the facial is gentle yet effective for me with sensitive skin. I even sent my husband here. I have tried other places, but they use subpar quality products or just don't have the skin analysis skills. I went here to receive treatment for my acne and hyperpigmentation. After Michelle examined my face, she explained that I had issues with closed comedones, congestion and inflammation. She suggested the Custom Advance Facial (85 minutes) so she can take her time with extractions. But since it was my first time getting extractions, she also said we could take it slow and do separate shorter facials if I thought the pain would be too much. I opted for the 85 minute facial because I think I have a pretty good pain tolerance, and I just wanted clearer skin as soon as possible. The extraction process was intense, but she made sure to check up on me. (If you ever do have to get a full face of extractions, just be aware that there is some recovery time so plan accordingly. I was glad that I didn't have any plans for the rest of the day.) When I got home, my boyfriend told me that my face was glowing and that my texture was noticeably smoother (despite healing from all the extractions.) I also ended up purchasing toner, acne treatment, and a repair serum from her and used them every day two times a day. My face hasn't looked this clear and smooth in such a long time and I'm kicking myself fo not coming here sooner. Even when my period came two weeks later, I only had one minor closed comedo on my chin as opposed to a bunch of pimples on my cheeks and jawline. I'm so grateful that I was able to finally press reset on my skin and it's all thanks to Michelle. I'll definitely be returning for more facials and treatments. read more

Was my first time having a facial ever in my life .... I was nervous , I didn't know what to expect. But Michelle was so friendly and comforting the moment I walked in her shop. She analyzed my face first to recommend me which facial to start with. We then went to the facial area to lay down on this really comfy facial "bed type " with a soft blanket to put on top of your body. The lights were dimmed and a soft relaxing music was playing in the background. She does a very thorough job from washing, cleaning, extractions , and massage. I really enjoyed the whole time of my facial . As for the extractions they were not painful at all to me, she uses a needle which is very efficient and not painful.
