Yelp helped us find a place for lunch in Bolton, ON and it no mistake. Cheeks is reminiscent of a small local eatery. It knows what it is, with a menu consisting primarily of burgers & wings, limited sandwich options, a few pasta dishes, and some salads. Yes, it's licensed to serve adult beverages. We came for the burgers and this turned out to be the right choice, specifically the Banquet Burger is one of the best I've had in recent memory. The patty itself is hand formed from fresh beef and cooked to perfection i.e., fully cooked yet very juicy. Make sure you use a napkin and take your bit over your plate. (Our server wisely brought us extra napkins.) The back bacon accompanying the beef patty was well prepared and decent sized also, a very nice Banquet Burger indeed. I also loved the crisp pickle and very much enjoyed the fries. An interesting aside. One of the condiments on the table was "Max & Marcus" prepared mustard. It's labelled "Montreal Deli Style". I didn't need it for my meal but was intrigued as a departure from the usual "French's" or even generic. I had to taste it and determined that it is indeed "premium" as claimed and would absolutely choose it over the usual suspects. Cheeks is very close to a busy corner yet there is a free parking lot very close by. It was April when we were there so the Patio was not yet in service however we got a very nice table near the window. Service was cheerful, quick, and attentive. Baseball road show, the pre-season version takes us to our second stop - the 'I'm staving like crazy after the game, dad' pit stop before the drive home, aka Cheeks Homemade Burgers & Good Eats. Cheeks feels like one of those neighborhood bar that an American sitcom/TV character would frequent, kind of like in Cheers or The Simpsons. Since it was late and there's ways to drive to get home, we called in advance for a Home Burger to go. The distance from the ball park and Cheeks was rather short, which meant we unfortunately had to endure another Leafs playoff flop against the Lightning that was broadcasted on TV while we waited for our takeout. To tell you the truth, I was still pretty full from the Indian pre-game meal, so I left it to my son to do most of the taste testing. To maintain the integrity of this review, I took the first and the last bite of the burger. The strength of their burger is in the quality of meat and the timing of the grilling. Very rarely will you find a bar that will dare to leave a touch of pink in their patty. The only thing I would of like them to do was to put a little bit more salt in the patties. I couldn't comment on any of their other food, but if you are in the area, Cheeks offers a pretty damn solid burger in the Bolton/Caledon area. If Indian is not your thing and you wanted a less exotic option, check Cheeks out. FYI, my son approves of their burger. read more

Remember to check out their lunch specials! Usually a choice of burger, pasta and Soup/Salad but includes a drink (tea/coffee/pop). As usual, I could not resist lunch special: Burger and Pasta please. Burger cooked with a touch of pink, which I like. But if you want a well done patty, do let them know. The vegetarian pasta was surprisingly good with grilled eggplant/zucchini. Service was prompt and friendly. I love how my waitress kept offering to refill my pop. Speed Read. 1) Best Fries, always fresh made, taste great with gravy 2) Best Burger in town. Look for their specialty burger. 3) Hit and miss some time. I wish their quality is more stable. 4) My friend love their grill chicken sandwich (i never tried it) 5) Patio in the summer 5 Stars as as I think it's one of the best place to have lunch in Bolton. On a good day, the burger is very juicy, and complement well with the rest of the condiment. We also like the chili oil I recommend the specialty burger when they are available on the menu. The specialty change all the time. The fries and gravy on the side is the best in town. I choose fries over salad any days here. In the summer time, they have a patio that is far away from the road (a rarity in Bolton). We can enjoy the sun, but away from all the noise and dirt from the road. Cheeks..... Interesting place. So this is actually the longest standing resto in Bolton. 29 years in business. Its not fancy... Its not updated... But is such a cozy little spot. Casual little bar area to grab a beer accompanied by an area that seats between 30-50 or so. They also have an outdoor patio. I had the burger and fries. Its a very very old school burger made on a grill (Not flat top). This is not a pretentious fancy burger place. Old school. Period. A long time customer had a long chat with me. Nice crowd in there. So friendly. Owner is a friendly guy too. Shook my hand and welcomed me to bolton. Gave me advice on the area. This will probably be my go to "quick beer" spot, and maybe a little snack with the wife. I havent tried enough of the food to give a five star review but I will next time I go! read more

There were just a few other groups in the restaurant, which is probably typical for a Monday night. Our server was one of the owners (we didn't catch his name), but he was very pleasant, attentive, and welcoming. A really nice guy. I ordered the veggie burger and salad, and my boyfriend got the Texas burger and a salad. Prices are fair for the amount of food you get. Quality was great! Nothing extraordinary, but I can definitely see how this small restaurant has survived 25 years! There are other things on the menu aside from burgers. They have sandwiches, pasta, soup, root beer floats, milkshakes, and that night their special was a chicken parmesan. TL;DR - one of the best burgers I have ever had. The burgers taste so fresh - the have a char on the burger that amplifies the taste.
