A great neighborhood bar that feels warm and welcoming from the moment you walk in. It was my first time here, but definitely not my last! Cozy vibes, attractively priced drinks ! This is exactly the kind of dive bar I'm into.

Cheers is just an all around good time. Thing is they mastered keeping things simple. There's alcohol, music, fun regulars, modestly priced drinks that are consistently strong and a juke box so you can hear exactly what you want. Side thing. Daevionne's drinks are bomb. Best bartender EVER! He's there Sunday nights!

Alley way of lust, passion, and desire.

It's a damn shame EVEN more people don't know about this wonderful, beautiful place!! You walk in, and immediately the restrooms remind you that children aren't allowed, so you feel a sense of maturity and comfort amongst your brethren and fellow drinkers. I can honestly say few places achieve a sense of community and come-and-go-as-you-please mentality as does this diamond of a pub!! On the days I'm able to visit, like Sunday, Rodney will cook you a free burger and some shrimp (and you'd better fucking tip ). On Thursdays, Jay will put on his best dress and drive you to brink of insanity with his unique trivia questions SO mind-bending that you'll lay with your lover in bed afterwards and ask after a long, passionate love-making session, "Did we get the answer wrong, or did Jay mess up?" I hear there's an industry night too, and that's cool, but I go there any time I need a fucking BREEAAAAKKK!! Every last bartender is sweet and attentive as a pixie stick, and if you talk to them, or anyone in the bar, you'll learn something about them that not only will connect you with another human being, but help you realize your problems aren't as unique as you think, and that people are there to help!! Please support this bar!! It, the people that work there, and the patrons that support it have changed my life!!!! ....and to be honest, the prices are pretty fucking reasonable, so go apply for a credit card if you have to, but don't miss out on this experience!!

Not friendly got the side eye from most of the patrons. I had to stand at the bar for a long time before being able to order a drink.

It was not busy. I will say all the patrons were white. We didn't think anything of it at the time, but another WHITE group came in and they let them sing; and right after, the Dj sang himself!! If patrons want to sing at an event you're a WORKER for, they should take president. I will NEVER come to this RACIST BAR AGAIN!

It's one of the few lesbian bars left in the US, so that alone makes it a must-visit, but the experience keeps us coming back. The vibe is always energetic, and the staff genuinely make it special, their personalities suit the place perfectly. Even though we're just visiting, they make you feel like a local who's been coming in forever. It has that neighborhood bar feel every single time. Food-wise, this last visit we had the steak sandwich and it was delicious. Their chicken fingers and fries are also excellent and as a self-proclaimed chicken finger connoisseur, that's saying something. Also a great spot if you're nursing a rough "morning" (or afternoon depending on when you roll out of the house) after. Gossip Grill is a staple every time we're in town, and Hillcrest in general just has such a great energy. Highly recommend.

All the staff was super duper friendly and they were playing my jams the whole time. We were a group of 3 adults and 1 medically fragile pup in stroller. I ordered Avocado Toast with chili oil on the side with a side of fruit, So . . . About last night subbed eggs over easy, Shrimp and Grits and soft scrambled eggs for our pup. My friend ordered some green drink too. Avocado Toast was delish, the bread was killer and avocado to veggie ratio was on point. So . . . About last night was a very generous portion and definitely on the heavier side but very yummy. Shrimp and Grits was full of flavor and cheesy grits were so velvety smooth. Stitch gobbled up his eggs and my friend thoroughly enjoyed her drink too. Definitely coming back for music and trying their regular menu items.

Double Bars. Plenty of room. Great happy hour. Cool events including cigar socials, 90s music nights, themed nights, a pool table, good seating and great service. The happy hour beer special was stellar. $10 for a pitcher of Bud Light I shared with guy. Plus 90s Night with nostalgic classics for this made in the 80s baby, was 10 kinds of perfect. It's so easy going and chill here, but also very social and friendly at the same time. It reminds me a little of my home bar in North Hollywood, Los Angeles (The Bullet Bar). Bartenders are amazing (including Dutch who I remember from his days at Redwing) and I even got to reconnect with some of my SD friends I haven't seen in 7 years. Nor been into Pecs since 2018. I've been here during San Diego Pride in summer (July), causal hangs in the winter (like now) and a variety of fun things. We've been in a bit this weekend. Including on our way to tthe "Bad Bunny Bowl"! But also Go Seahawks! Nice bar eats when available. Veggie friendly. Website could use a little modernized tlc, but their IG and FB stay updated. Parking isn't your bestie, boyfriend, sir, or someone you know well lol, but the true locals recommend a ride share, early times and carpooling. We drove around on a Saturday night for quite a while and lucked into a sort of parking spot without restrictions. Restrooms are solid. Seating around the bar area and on the outskirts including a long beach or two fills up, but if you're patient something will open up. They typically card everyone at the door so please bring your non expired ID since no matter your age it's prohibited to serve adult beverages to anyone. Pecs does it's best to be a great bar so let's do our best to keep it that way. Open 12PM til Midnight daily, and until 2AM on Friday/Saturday.
