Picked up about 6 beers and paid around $36 which is super fair! I got their Fresh Ricotta and Roasted Tomato with Balsamic Vinegar sandwich today and it was pretty yummy. Soft, chewy bread with plenty of ricotta and roasted tomato. This is one of my favorite cheese places! When I was dating my hubby a few years ago, he did some research to find a good cheese shop after finding out I love cheeeeese! He brought me some of their logo imprinted accessories and boxes of snack platter. All choices were just delicious and I found one of my most favorite soft cheese here. While we were waiting on our snack box was ready, we browsed the store and chilled at the table. Then one of the staff came to us and apologized that our platter was ready 20 min ago but he didn't know that we were still waiting till our order was ready. Actually we were enjoying and sorta hanging out but he offered us that freshly re-cut cheese since our cheese had been melted already, and my order was all free! Even if the service sucked I would still come back because I love their cheese selection but with the great service it just gives me more reasons to come back. (we were Stuart Little in a past life). He sampled "everything" and ended up purchasing about 7 hard/soft cheese servings- that's how good the service is here and tasty. I remembered the honey comb delight. Applied the perfectly portioned D'affinois to my Back abbey burger and again, VIOLA, perfect bites. Went very well with the aged Gouda. Went here to buy cheese for a family gathering of cheese lovers. The shop is absolutely lovely. Very well selected gourmet items to compliment the beautiful cheeses. We spent about 15 minutes tasting the different cheeses suggested by the "cheeselier" (I am not sure what to call the cheese mongers) They are young guys and so sweet and a great help. We selected several cheeses from Oregon and France which were all amazing. Our picnic was a grand success. They also carry olive oils, olives, artisan beers, and chocolates. A great find. They make sandwiches too! The only thing is, plan to spend a large bill here... it is not cheap, but for us it was worth it. Remember, a little goes a long way. read more

Put in a notification order for a certain cheese when it was available. After waiting a year, I was sent a text message informing me that it was in. I responded immediately and heard nothing. When I came in I was informed it was sold out and there was nothing they could do dispute me showing that I wanted some set aside. Very disappointing customer service. If there is an award for the worst business of 2021 it would definitely go to Cheese Cave. My daughter and I took my wife there for Mother's Day yesterday to pick up a few things. It was our first time there. I inadvertently forgot to put on my mask upon entering. The man working there (wearing a hat, glasses and a scruffy beard) in a very rude and condescending manner yells out to me ...... "You need to wear a mask! Leave the store! I had a mask in my pocket and I put it on. I have no problem wearing a mask anywhere. Upon leaving the store we thanked the young lady that helped us for her politeness and explained how the other employee was rude. This started him to argue with us about how it was "illegal" not to wear a mask (apparently in the store) failing to realize, even after I told him that he was rude, that it was not about mask wearing. A women then came out from the back and instead of inquiring as to what was going on, immediately asked us to "leave my store". If this woman was in fact the owner, she is just as clueless as her employee regarding customer relations. The entire incident put a damper on my wife's Mother's Day and highlighted the stores own concern about themselves rather than the customers Almost all the negative reviews of this store revolve around that male employee being outright rude, condescending and arrogant toward customers. The fact that he is still there does not speak well about the owners ability to run a friendly business. It would be a sin if he was actually an owner. The employees obviously need training in customer relations. MY ADVICE: LEAVE THIS CAVE UNEXPLORED. For great service and better prices shop at Trader Joes, Sprouts, Vons, Di Stefano's, Amazon ( especially for Marcona Almonds).....basically anywhere else but this place. read more

This place is a godsend for folks who want a good cheese selection without having to schlep out to the city for Whole Foods or a specialty store. They have cow, sheep, goat's milk cheeses. They have soft, semi-soft, and hard cheese. They local, domestic, and European cheeses. The selection is pretty impressive. I love all cheeses so this place becomes my happy place. If they have Epoisses, get it...it's a super ripe, soft cheese from France that's a funkier version of Camembert. They also make sandwiches with the cheeses they sell. The folks who work here know their product and are happy to offer samples where they can. Great service. Great shop. Located right in the northwest end of the downtown Claremont area. I am sooooo glad I found this cute little cheese shop tucked in the quaint Claremont Village. I like to think that I am a charcuterie board connoisseur and I very much enjoy putting together boards for parties but on this particular occasion, I didn't have time to get everything together and luckily I found the Cheese Cave to help with that. I placed an order for a large cheese board which consists of 4 cheeses, 3 meats & all the fixings of olives, fig jam, dried fruits, marcona almonds & a large cracker basket. It was ready at said time and it looked beautiful!!! I was definitely pleased with the selections chosen and it was a big hit at the Christmas party. Oh I do love this place , is a little cute store full with cheese goodness . My husband and I go often to satisfies our cravings. They have small cheese trays with pickle olives and dry peaches along with corn nuts. Is soo good. The only draw down is you cannot enjoy a good beer along with this snack. The Cheese Cave is a little slice of HEAVEN! Cheeses from all over the world that you don't find anywhere else. My favorite is a French bleu made from cow's milk called Bleu de Causses. It's creamy, stinky and RIDICULOUSLY DELICIOUS! It's truly the highlight of my day when I get to enjoy this cheese with a glass of wine. My husband knows not to bother me for about 30mins as I sip and savor every last crumble! The staff is also very kind and knowledgeable of all their products. Cheese Cave gets 5 from me. I was looking for a couple of Charcuterie boards for my mother's 75th birthday party and I looked at multiple places. Although the price for two boards was more than I had wanted to spend, I quickly found that spending less money was going to produce a sub-par result at different places that didn't specialize in Charcuterie boards. I went into Cheese Cave the week before the party, made the arrangements and the experience was perfect. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. The order processed and I picked both boards up the following Saturday morning before the party. They. Were. AMAZING! My family and friends of the family were amazed at how wonderful they looked and the contents were delicious. The cheese was amazing, the meats were delicious and the bread was the added touch that pulled it all together. I cannot express enough how happy I was with their boards and how great the overall experience was. The cost was well worth the end results.
