Best Georgian restaurant on this continent. Most delicious cheeseboats I've ever tried. And it seems theres a huge choice of Georgian wine which goes perfectly with the food. We had the prosciutto cheese boat and the whole chicken dish (forgot the name!). They were both extremely savory. It vibe of the restaurant is extremely comfortable and the servers were all very helpful. The raspberry margarita is definitely worth trying. Please try to avoid this place! No complaints about food, it was amazing! Service is disgusting!!! First of all during COVID all places provide masks if you don't have one, this place tried to sell you mask for $9. Second of all they told us to leave exactly in an hour! Third of all they don't except card and it doesn't say anywhere, they don't even aware you when you come in. But they take Venmo..... seriously guys?! Restaurants take Venmo now?! Georgian food is my new favorite cuisine... discovered it in Brighton Beach and this place does a great job delivering all the best dishes without having to make the trek down there if you live in North Brooklyn. Really tasty cheese on freshly baked ready to pull apart bread! The original is still my all time favorite. The soupy dumplings were delicious as well. The grape leaves stuffed with meat where a disappointment. Too dry and needs more flavor. But still 5 stars for the rest of the food and great service! Love their mint tea. read more

I came in with a party of seven. We order $700 worth of food and drinks. All menus state 18% gratuity added to all parties of six or more. Our bill showed that 20% was added automatically. When asking the waitress what is that about she pretended to not know why and that the menus have a mistake. Clearly lying when all menus show otherwise. No honesty and not worth 20% when you visited the table twice in the three hours we were there and we had to approach the waitress. Truly disappointed. read more

Went here today earlier and sat outside. We ordered the fries, the eggs benny cheeseboat and the steak and eggs cheeseboat. We also ordered the mimosa tower. The mimosas were so good and so worth the price and the french fries were some of the best I've ever had! The steak was ridiculously tender and the cheeseboats did not disappoint. The eggs benny was a little over cooked with a hard yolk, but the hollandaise sauce made up for it because it was delicious! I would definitely go back and recommend to anyone! read more

Mixed bag, unfortunately. The cheeseboats were legitimately amazing but the service was not good, the other food had too much pepper and the chicken entree took forever to come out. Everyone else was almost done by the time our last entree came. They did give us a free dessert but then ignored us when we wanted the check. A really unique spot with great live jazz in the evening. The cheese boats are what drew me here, and they didn't disappoint. Was satisfied with the cheesey Mushroom cheese boat. The lamb kebab was pretty good. The Georgian dry reds were both solid, and service was excellent. So disappointed! We came in for a birthday party and there was a mistake on the communal bill and everyone ended up getting over-charged by about $25 a person. There were about 11 or 12 of us, so that's a total over charge of $300! When we pointed it out the wait staff refused to change it, the manager said that it's not her problem. After arguing for about 20 minutes we gave up, we still had a birthday to celebrate. This is upfront theft, which is unfortunate because the food is actually decent. This was the absolute worst dining experience I have ever had. I've never left a bad review in my life which speaks volumes to this review. For starters, my friend had to ask 5 times for a glass of water as everyone else at the table (there were 7 of us) had water except for her. She got her water about an hour into the meal. Second, we had to ask twice for our beef dumplings which we ordered for the table to share before they informed us they had sold out of them. We are pretty sure they delivered them to the threesome next to as they got dumplings within 5 minutes of sitting (for the record it took about 25 minutes for our other shared dishes to come out so something doesn't add up). Then, they were out of Brooklyn lager and told us they had a Pilsner, which is great because I prefer Pilsner. Except it was an IPA that they served to three of us. This normally wouldn't be an issue but it's the third miscommunication/bad experience. Finally, at the end of the dinner we noticed an $11 charge for credit card which is illegal, see here: https://www.nysenate.gov/legislation/laws/GBS/518 When I asked the server what that was about he told me it's common and that 'people from around here' know about it. I replied that I live in the neighborhood and have never f' seen it to which he replied "well you don't look like you're from around here" and lectured me on the rules of dining (LOL!) Rudest and worst service anyone at my table has ever experienced. The server's name is Shako who I believe is either manager or part of the family that owns it. It was an awful experience. My friends and I each order out own Cheeseboat because we were starving and thought we could demolish it. It's so delicious, but they are extremely generous with the cheese and butter. I recommend sharing because the portion might look small, but it's good enough to feed for two. We couldn't even finish half of our portion. The place is cozy, but packed. My friends and I had to sit at the bar, which was a little messy for one of my friend who sat at the end (remote control, server's cell phones, pens, etc), but they cleared it quickly for us to sit and enjoy our time there. The 1 star is for the cheese bread. That's all the deserve. 30min wait for the appetizers, 1 hour wait for main dish and still nothing! People around us that came after us are getting food and drinks and we can't even get water !! We have to ask for it , are you serious !!!!!!!!!? We got our dessert before our main dish and when we asked what happened with our dinner than said "oh it's ready do you want it now ?" !!!! Another 15 min and we asked again and than it was brought to the table! The dessert that looked delicious was dry as wood, we couldn't even choke it down since we didn't get no water ! Oh don't bother with ordering wine the prices are crazy, they want $42 for a $6 bottle of wine. After all that I was mad and checked in to get the glass of wine of course it never arrived. This place is incredible, amazing, super filling food, fun food and great wait staff. I especially enjoyed the Khinkali Soup Dumplings, I've never had soup dumplings like that before. The eponymous cheese boats were really the highlights, very filling, incredibly tasty and easy to share. Great place for big parties. The food is delicious and perfect for winter time. This place is obviously well known for its cheeseboats which two of my friends got and those looked good/came out to us at the table in a normal amount of time. I ordered the lamb which comes as a wrap with sauce on it, served over vegetables. My issue with this restaurant is that my dish didn't come out until 50 minutes after my friends got their food. The waitress never acknowledged that there was an issue. Her coworker apologized and I'm pretty sure he put in the order as it didn't seem like they had any idea they were missing anything for our table previously. They then tried to charge us for the dish! We told them we weren't paying for it and the waitress responded with " she's eating the lamb" I would definitely steer clear due to service issues. read more

Went here for the one of the last hurrahs of the summer. 5pm on a Friday, not that many people, in fact we were the only ones in there. We had a reservation and they were able to take us. Our waiter was very friendly and knew of some really good suggestions and very accommodating. Friday was all day happy hour :) I was starving so I had the pirozhki and the house white which was 15$ for a yummy cheese mushroom and tarragon sandwich. The food came out fairly quickly and the presentation was spotless, wood plates and had a very rustic feel to it. The spinach cheeseboat was the star of the show, A cheese fondue inside a bowl made out of crunchy and warm bread. The service was pretty good, although nearing the end it started to take a while so we had to call waiters over. Overall service was good and the food was excellent. I had never tasted Georgian food, I'm glad it turned out to be so delicious. I'll be back. If you're in the area, check this place out. read more

I ordered the bacon cheese boat and the honeycomb Brie. My roommate and I sampled them both with the best expectations and we were beyond impressed. My roommate began with the bacon as he felt it was the most comfortable choice to start with before moving on to the unknown. He believes this was the best way to warm up to what was to come next. He claimed the bacon was a 10/10 but when he sank his teeth into the honeycomb Brie it opened his eye to a dimension of numbers beyond 10. Simply put the honeycomb Brie cheeseboat was life changing. I took the opposite approach and started with the honeycomb Brie as I didn't want anything to influence my tastebuds going in. It made me believe in a higher power. It revived me. read more

Unfortunately the service was bad enough. Usually I don't mind subpar service as long as the food is good and there aren't any huge mistakes that occur, but there weren't many redeeming factors. Service: We were given the wrong dishes twice. One of them thankfully was recognized as wrong by us right away and after we pointed it out a server took it away right away and we eventually got the right dish. However the second two dishes came and the server tried to convince us it was the right ones. Right away when it came we asked him whether these were right because they did not look like the description but he assured us that it was just the way they came. Thus we figured maybe he is right so we tried them, of course then we really knew they weren't right. We ordered chopped veal in chakapuli, which is an entree, but I'm pretty sure they brought mushroom barley soup. The dish did not have any meat in it and it was full of mushrooms and barley and it was a soup (the chopped veal description did not include any mushrooms, and certainly included veal). We also looked up pictures on yelp of how the chopped veal was supposed to look like and this did not look anything like it. When we pointed all those things out to the waiter he again told us that there was no problem and tried to convince us that this was the right dish. In his defense at least he did offer to take those dishes off the bill (I would not have been happy paying a price of an entree for a soup that is much cheaper especially when it was a mistake). I would have not been as upset, but given that he continued to try to convince us that we were wrong despite all the evidence I was a bit insulted. Food: it was okay. Nothing mind blowing. The price was a bit high for the dishes. Decor: there was a cute area in the back with nice decorations. read more

Compared to Red Compass and Old Tbilisi Garden, Cheeseboat has by far the best khachapuri. Friends and I came and (I kid you not) ordered 3 cheesebreads. We finished them all. No regrets. The server here was really friendly and gave us free shots too. The place is small but if you're trying to fulfill a cheese craving this is the only spot, I'm serious. read more

Can I even say how good this place is? Finding a place that makes Khatchipori was heaven sent in the first place but a place that serves quality like this cannot be underestimated. The dining experience could be bumped up by some more interested waitstaff but the quality of food trumps everything bi will not only come back. We went there this Saturday for lunch and ordered a regular Cheeseboat and some meat soup dumplings (we shared both in 2). Both were delicious and I highly recommend it. The bread of the cheeseboat could be a little more cooked for our taste, but it was amazing anyway. The service was good but too slow, we had to keep trying to get the attention of the waiter a few times to order anything. But overall a very good experience that I recommend! read more

Ok so you know, it was good - quite good. It's just a lot. A whole cheese boat is so rich, so buttery, so fatty, it's just ... a lot. The service was incredibly pleasant, and I enjoyed our meal, the titular dish was just overkill. My advice? Split it with at least 4 people, and make sure you load up on bright, acidic sides to keep you interested (I don't remember if there were any but I hope there are). read more

Cheeseboat was amazing. I was seated rather quickly as they take reservations. The service was decent, so no complaints. Now as for the food.. the boats are an edible cauldron of smooth, creamy flavorful cheese with a nice crispy/soft crust. I recommend the spinach or garlic chicken cheeseboat. However Im not going to lie, if you're not a huge cheese eater, it's definitely overwhelming and a little salty with the added butter. But have a few drinks and tons of water and you're good 2 go.
