We have yet to eat dinner there, so my review will focus on breakfast and brunch/lunch. The cafe and breakfast offerings are a welcome respite from mass-manufactured pastries and mass-distributed coffee with the pastries made by their in-house pastry chef. One of the things that makes Tomat stand out is that their chefs are constantly pushing the envelope and experimenting with new approaches. We recently tried their Creme Brulee-topped Cinnamon Roll, and it was as mouth-watering as it was unique. And if you aren't in the mood for morning culinary extravagance, Tomat's fresh approach at scones dispels the notion that they are all created equal. They are a must-try. The brunch experience was one of the best we have had in West LA. We ordered the Blue Masa Pancakes and the French Toast. The pancakes delivered exactly what we were looking for: A sweet option with a decent amount of substance. The French Toast hit all of the notes: It was not over dipped and the slight charring added a perfect amount of crispness to create a full experience. As Tomat has expanded/grown, I have been a increasingly frequent customer, and every experience has been enhanced by the staff's attention to detail and service. General comment: Tomat makes me insanely proud to have a restaurant where I can, without enthusiasm, recommend family, friends, and co-workers from out of town to put on their dining bucket list. Because of the chefs' constant focus on innovation (think "The Bear" here), I am excited to be a beneficiary of their creativity and vision.

The glazed donut was great but the two cake donuts were stale. We returned to the window and explained to the woman who waited on us about our issue. She said "Oh, the cake donuts are always like that". She replaced them with two other donuts that were equally as bad as the first order. It's sad when one of your go-to places goes downhill.

They were not overly sweet, perfectly crunchy on the outside and soft inside. The horchata coffee was absolutely divine and something I would come back just for. Everything here is made fresh, and you can taste the difference. The outdoor seating area with music created such a joyful, relaxing atmosphere and made the whole morning feel special. Big sugar cookie fanatic here, I can say that they have one of my favorites that I've tried so far. That's the one with frosting and sprinkles on it. Nice thick cookies, not hard, medium soft. All time favorite is doubtlessly their matcha! Most of the time I have them for to go, but they do have spaces to sit in and hang out if you prefer. The ambiance like that of a small outdoor cafe. Tbe service is top notch. You wait 3-6 minute and have a churro that those at Disney would die for and can only dream of. We bought the sack three medium with lechera, but then had to come back for the bit size ones with fruit too. The family running this place is incredible and they're really putting their heart and soul into this place! We're all so lucky! The Churro Joint is the joint for churros! If you like churros, this is the place!
