This bakery, although a great distance from us, is my bfs favorite little bakery. It is where he was bought cakes for his bdays as a child. So... why not bring that reminder in celebration of that special day. A yummy, simple cake with almonds dressed along side. This cake is filled with both bananas and strawberries and very fairly priced. I didn't place an order, but instead walked in and they have a few cakes ready to go. Very easy to finds parking located behind the building and very friendly workers. Thank you Sweeties for making his bday a special one. read more

I been coming to these bakery for the last 26 years and never before I had a bad experience but this time they really messed up ... I preorder a birthday cake which was requested to be light pink on the cake and hot pink on the borders..they charged me extra $ 8.80 for the 2 colors that I requested and when my husband picked it up it was all pink... I called them and asked them to fix it, they asked me to go back and all they did was add some of the hot pink on top they didn't even added to the bottom part.. if your paying extra you expect it to get done the right way read more

The service was really great and the lady was nice. However, the cake was inadequate... The cake looks fantastic, but the taste reveal was disappointing. The cake itself was not spongey and it was more dense and dry as if it wasn't fresh... additionally, the cake was basically 90% icing. Luckily, the icing wasn't very sweet, which was nice. read more

I ordered a cake for pick up at 4 PM. I live very far from work, and I was at work. This bakery called me to tell me at 1 PM that if I didn't come to get my cake before 3 PM, then I will not be able to get it... This is for a birthday! Not waiting for me? I wish had known. Not cool. I ended up having to pay my neighbor 20 bucks to go get the cake so that I could have a birthday cake. On all the cake was OK, but it didn't really taste so good knowing all that I had gone to and considering I ended up paying like 50 bucks for it for a little cake for four people. read more

My go-to bakery for cakes! We got our wedding cake here.. it was so good that all of our guests finished it very quickly (and not enough for us!) They can customize a cake for you if you email them a photo in advance. Cake is delicious and very soft. We like to get the traditional vanilla cake with either strawberry or banana (You can get it half and half or mixed into the cake). Shaved almonds on the side to give it a nice finish! It reminds me of a traditional Cantonese style cake. Cloudia is very nice and helpful. They deliver locally for an added fee. Small parking lot in the back for pick up. The cakes, customized or off the shelf, are top shelf. The individual pastry and cake pieces were good, the red velvet was tasty; the carrot cake slice was oddly dry and crumbly, with the cream cheese filling overly sweet, and also somewhat dry. Without a $15 minimum purchase, a credit card surcharge applies. I do want to try other individual slices - tiramisu and one that looks like a Napoleon, and eclairs if available. read more

Ambiance: I kept passing by this place and was curious because I always saw a line. Finally decided to check it out, and there was a line outside because the place could only really fit 2/3 people inside, lol. (Sorry, I forgot to get an inside pic), but it's your basic bakery scene case full of different treats. Service: The lady behind the counter was so cute, lol... she was patient and answered all of my questions with ease. Compared to the places I usually go to, this place is cheap. Cookies under $1, chocolate strawberries under $2. Food: The treats didn't really impress. They were good, kind of put you in the mind of those cookies in the tin can but bigger and homemade. AMAZING! Sweeties bakery come through for me when other shops could not. I ordered a last min birthday cake in a custom design and they were able to nail it in less than 5 days! The design was absolutely perfect & the cake itself was delicious (vanilla with strawberries)! I did provide my own pearls but they did all the decorating. I recently had a wedding and was looking for a bakery to do a 1 tier wedding cake and 75 cupcakes. I found this place by doing a simple google search. I visited the bakery 2 weeks prior to my wedding and they were more than happy to take my order. They were also more than happy to use cupcake holders I purchased off of Amazon which needed to be put together individually. Even though I just wanted a vanilla cake with vanilla frosting everyone raved about the cupcakes and how good they were to the point I had none left. Unfortunately, towards the end of the night while packing things away, someone dropped our cake and my husband and I only got to eat the little pieces that we cut for each other during our cake cutting....But we both agreed the pieces that we had was pretty delicious! I decided to come back to this bakery after about 12 years. I was shook that the owners are still the same ones. I ordered a "Milojas" 1/8 cake very last minute as Northgate market didn't have one available for my mother's birthday. I placed my order at 11 AM and at 3 PM the cake was freshly baked and ready for pick up. (Very convenient for last minute request). The cake was an okay cake, with your standard frosting, milojas wasn't the greatest but wasn't bad. The frosting was sweet, so I threw away the frosting before eating some. Value: I do think this bakery has ramped up their prices significantly. For a 1/8 cake that serves 5 people I paid $35 plus $1.50 to add almonds all around the cake. (Additional $ for fruit). The staff is wearing mask and gloves. Only one customer is allowed in the store at a time read more

Repeat customer! Customer service - gave us what we envision. Cake was ready on time ( We asked for an earlier time). Customized for birthday party. Frosting is light and fluffy, not too sweet. This is always my go to spot when in need of a cake! Whether it be for a birthday or celebration, they always fit everyone's taste! My favorite is their vanilla cake with fresh strawberries. Something about their frosting is just amazing. It's more of a light whipped cream rather than an overly sweet sugar frosting. This past time I went, I asked them to put a fish on my cake because my dad likes to go fishing. For a tiny up charge they did an amazing job and what's even funnier is that the fish kind of ended up looking like my pet betta fish! read more

I would have given a 5 star plus but .... Don't get me wrong, cakes and pastries are delicious. But the last cake order I got was a no go . Cake was fantastic as always but the lettering caught me by surprise, had to take simple cake to another bakery to make it look decent. I definitely will continue to go and by my cakes and pastries, but just keep an eye on the lettering . read more

I ate my mango cake up so fast while waiting for my hair appointment next door I didn't get a chance to take a picture. I took one bite & next thing I know I devoured it. I got a mango cake slice & let me tell you. The cake was so well balanced & flavorful. I have found my bakery for custom cakes! I am not too big on cakes because they are overly sweet or too moist for me but that mango cake was just hittin' all around! I never had mango cake & was amazed on how delicious it was. Sweet ladies run the shop. They have parking in the back of the building. They are Cash only!! I can't wait to make my first custom cake order in May. I know my guest are gonna die to know where I ordered the cake from when I serve it at my events. read more

I, of course, liked the roll cake, but liked the chocolate and cheesecakes even more. There are a lot of bakeries scattered around the South Bay, but this place is now my favorite. I walked in expecting it to be self-serve like 85 Degrees Bakery, but it's actually set up more like a donut shop or Porto's, where most of the pastries are displayed in a case and you tell the staff what you'd like. They do have a refrigerated self-serve section with sandwiches and onigiri, as well as a table with loaves of bread and buns. The ordering process caught me off guard because I usually like taking my time looking through all the pastries at bakeries. Since everything was behind the counter, I felt a little rushed with people waiting behind me. They have so many options that it can be a bit overwhelming. I also had to stop myself from ordering too much since I'm trying to cut back on carbs. Here's what I ordered: Hot Dog Bun - 4/5: Tasty with a soft, fluffy bun. The barista was especially friendly and even checked in afterward to ask if I liked my latte. If I'm ever back in the area, I would definitely come again.

It was already half melted, there was no salted honey cold foam or Jolly Pong which is supposed to be part of the drink. I got the order to go, so I didn't notice that my drink was wrong until I got home, so I couldn't even get it corrected. I didn't realize the drink was wrong at first. I thought it was just a flavor I didn't like even though I noted that I couldn't taste Barley at all. Then half way throught it, I decided to look at the description on the app to remember what it was supposed to taste like because it tasted like an ordinary flavorless latte. The description said there's barley milk, salted honey cold foam and Jolly Pong. That's when it hit me that I either got the wrong drink or someone didn't make it right because there was no flavor of salted honey and definitely no Jolly Pong in my drink. It didn't even look like I had cold foam topping my drink, but maybe that's because it was melting already. Overall, I was very upset and disappointed with my drink, but was happy my mom's drink was fine. Now this is only a part of why I was dissapointed with yesterday's experience. The other reason was the app and workers. Maybe the workers aren't used to working with the Smoking Tiger app yet? Or maybe the app still needs work, but the drinks I ordered through the app took forever to be marked ready even though my drinks had been ready for some time which was obvious because my Honey Bori Latte was already half mixed because the layers of ingredients were melting into each other. I arrived at the cafe about 5 minutes after ordering, but the app's estimated wait time was another 10 minutes which wasn't a problem for me, especially since I saw a person waiting for his order and some people inside the cafe, although it wasn't full like usual. I just assumed some people ordered before me, so I just have to wait a bit, which again was fine with me especially since I was waiting for my mom to arrive. At some point after the one person waiting for their drink left, I realized the 2 girls at the counter were just talking and not making any drinks. I checked the app and it still said my order was being prepared. After 2 more people ordered their drinks and received them immediately, I went up to the counter, by this point it had been the app's estimated 10 minute wait. I told the girl with glasses my name and showed her the order on my phone. Then she walked toward the fridge and got my drinks, put them in a drink carrier, passed them to me and then turned around while looking at the receipt paper that was with the drinks. That was it. She didn't tell me which drink was which and they were not labeled, so my mom and I just had taste them to figure out which was which. At most places, they let you know which drink is which, so I was just confused with the service I received, especially when the place wasn't busy. And to top it all off, my order was marked completed 10 minutes after I received my order which again just left me in confusion. I usually love this place and was saddened when they got rid of their Choco Mugwort drink, but I'm always looking forward to their seasonal drinks and baked goods. This time though, I don't think I was even able to taste one of their new seasonal drinks because it tasted like a regular latte with milk. I want to try their other current seasonal drinks, but I'm also worried about what I will receive in the future and I'm not ready for another disappointing coffee any time soon.

They tried everything they could to not give me a refund when there was no hash browns and I paid for them. Worst service ever.

It was super soft and fatty and ended with a heavy pleasant fishy flavor. The miso grilled cod was great. Not much to say about it was almost creamy and the miso was good. I ate the skin too and it tasted great. The main part of this place is the soba. The kikouchi soba are thicker 100% buckwheat noodles that were very well cooked and pleasant to eat. The Plum "Ume" broth was so refreshing and nice. I ate it cold; I probably would have preferred it hot but the is just a personal preference. The Ginger Pork was great. The pork itself was super gingery without being too pungent. The shredded cabbage was super easy to pick up and eat and the side of noodle salad and miso soup were great complements to the meal. I can tell no corners were cut anywhere and that Otafuku puts a little of effort into every meal they prepare. There is great care for all of the preparations and it was a very special meal. I felt like I was in Japan for a second as the feel of the restaurant is very "homey" and the ambiance is a nice cheerful atmosphere.
