This is my favorite Chinese restaurant on the West side of Rochester. Would recommend the Lo Mein. It is a tiny place in the village of Spencerport with only a few tables (3?) I love this little Chinese resuturant tucked in the village of Spencerport. I have been coming here for years with my family for takeout as it is our favortie location for Chinese takeout. I have tried many things here, but my favorite always has been the beef lo mein. They are just so flavorful and full of been and vegetables. The noodles themselves are slightly different from other local spots, and I think that is part of what seperates them. The food is always cooked fast, which is great for last minute dinner decisions. If you are in the area, you should definetly try them out! read more

Yes, the food is decent for Spencerport Chinese food but the second and last time I ordered, there was a huge "curly black hair" in the center of my sesame chicken - GROSS!!!! This place has amazing food and I would definitely recommend this place to anyone in search of mouth watering chinese food. The only issue is the service. When ordering over the phone whoever was on the other end seemed to be confused and when I arrived my food took a very long time to come out. Overall, amazing place to eat. Ordering of food was easy over the phone. After getting home with the order, meals were wrong (missing rice) - luckily there was enough from other meals to be shared. Unfortunately it was a $13 meal that was incomplete. The sesame chicken combo lacked significant flavor, while the other meals appeared to be okay. Steamed dumplings were okay, and so were the Shrimp eggrolls. Fortune cookies were stale. Too many issues for us, which is unfortunate since many rave - we could have just got their off night, but we won't be back. read more

Tried this place a few times, and every time we ordered, they got the orders wrong. They even had someone who actually spoke English answering the phone. The last time we ordered, we had to go back to the restaurant to wait for them to redo our order because, guess what? It was incorrect. Got home, opened up the containers, and it was STILL WRONG! No offer to do anything to correct the situation, no apologies, no nothing. Please don't waste your time with these people, they straight up don't care. Tried them for first time a couple weeks ago. Due to Covid, they were the closest Chinese takeout place open ! We had a couple of lunch specials: beef and broccoli and general tso chicken- both with steamed white rice and both with a veggie egg roll- we were pleasantly surprised- I mean, it's takeout, and it wasn't bad! Really. I think all of these Americanized Chinese take-away places are basically the same. The biggest differences are if the crab rangoon are more sweet or more savory. Chef King's are savory. This one is close to my house so it gets many of my monies. read more

I can't believe we haven't ordered from Chef King before. We had our family over for dinner and I picked out a large assortment including egg rolls and spring rolls (excellent spring rolls!!!). I was able to try everything and all cooked perfectly with delicious sauces. Especially liked the chicken with cashews. The best part for me was the ability to order from a light menu. I selected chicken with steamed vegetables and so tender. Loved it. So many possibilities of an easy dinner at home using their steamed menu. Glad to have another good takeout choice in Spencerport as we are not comfortable eating inside restaurants during covid. Pick up process so easy and safe. Very good! I love sweet and sour chicken so I always get that when I eat this type of food. Very disappointed with other area "Chinese" food places so tried this one. Chicken had great flavor and was nice and crispy, sweet and sour sauce was delicious, and house rice was really good! Last place I went the house rice was so bland and literally just rice, onion and chicken. This place had carrots, peas, onions, generous meat and lots of flavor. If they could just learn to say hi when you show up or thank you when you place an order, they would have gotten 5 stars. read more

I eat a lot of take-out food. Much of that is Chinese, and Chef King is one of my go-to places. As with most Asian restaurants in the area, the food is inexpensive. Here it is actually good! Their menu is pretty standard, but their quality is great. I've never had anything over-cooked or tough, it's always spot-on tasty! They're quick and polite. No delivery which was definitely not cool. I ordered cashew chicken. The sauce was just okay. The ratio of celery to cashews was disappointing. Too much celery. Not enough cashews. Chicken pieces were very fatty. Fried rice was plain. We also ordered beef and garlic sauce and it had a strong tarragon flavor which wasn't that good either. Portions were humongous which is always nice but flavor was all around lacking. This is the only Chinese place in town so I may try something different again but for now I'm unable to give a great review. read more

Convenient for village folk craving Chinese-American cuisine. About what you'd expect, and they are pretty fast. My one complaint is that they tend to cook the egg rolls a trifle much for my taste. They can be too dark and crispy, so last time I asked they be "lightly browned". Though the gentleman on the phone sounded miffed, they came out perfect.
