It's gone through yet another ownership change...the food is nothing like it was. It's pretty terrible actually. They keep messing my order up. (this is the 3rd time) The girl who takes the orders is cute and super nice. But sadly this will be the last time I order food here. Also the food in my pictures looks tasty (and it was!)...well that was before the new chef or owner took over.

Rotten lemons in Sauce for Lemon Chicken

I will preface this with: the delivery was super fast and nice and hot when we received it. I ordered Lemon Chicken. I don't usually use the word disgusting, but this was. The lemons were rotten, it came across in the food. While I appreciated how the sauce was sent on the side to keep the Chicken crispy, it was derailed by how bad the dish was. We also Ordered Shrimp Chow Mein. It was only ok. Very thick and gooey. The flavor was so-so. Broccoli and Beef was the other main, that, was pretty good. But that's it. Underwhelming. Mediocre. 2 stars.

The spot has that old-school Chinese takeout vibe: simple, clean, and focused on flavor, not flash. --- What I Ordered: General Tso's Chicken Shrimp Lo Mein Crab Rangoons Egg Roll Steamed Dumplings --- General Tso's Chicken: Sweet, spicy, and crispy - exactly how it should be. The sauce had a good kick without overpowering the flavor. Chicken was tender inside with that golden crunch. Easily one of the best in the area. Shrimp Lo Mein: Noodles were cooked just right - not too greasy, not too dry. Shrimp was fresh and had good bite. Could use a little more garlic or soy for depth, but still solid. Crab Rangoons: Creamy, crunchy, and packed with flavor. These were a hit. You get that satisfying crunch with the creamy crab filling - not overly sweet like some spots do. Steamed Dumplings: Soft and juicy with a flavorful pork filling. Dipping sauce was on point. Not doughy, just right. Egg Roll: Golden and crispy with a nice balance of cabbage and pork inside. Great with the duck sauce. --- Pros: Big portions, great value Fast service Hits all the nostalgic Chinese takeout cravings Clean and well-packaged Cons: Lo mein could use a little more flavor Limited seating (best for takeout) --- Final Verdict (8.9/10): New Number One Chinese Restaurant is bringing the heat. Classic Chinese-American dishes done right. If you're craving comfort food that hits every time, this place delivers - literally and figuratively. Perfect for a late-night boss fight meal or chilling after a long grind. Let me know what YOU always order from your local Chinese spot - and drop your suggestions for the next food battle

While visiting on a cool night, the Dan Dan Noodles sounded really appealing to me, and they did not disappoint! The bowl was a large portion with a good amount of noodles and tender, juicy ground pork. The broth was hot and spicy, but also flavorful...the heat was not too overpowering for me. I was very happy with my meal, but also happy to taste some other items we got to share. Edamame always seems like a good way to start a meal...these were overly salted for my liking. The scallion pancake was okay...a little small with just four thin pieces. More successful were the namesake dumplings. I really liked their versions of Xaio Long Bao - both the original pork and shrimp varieties contained delicious broth and fillings. We also shared the pork and chive dumplings, beef dumplings, and pork and corn dumplings...and we would order all of them again! The orange chicken was also an enjoyable dish to share, and good way to add some variety to the plethora of dumplings. I'm sure they get a lot of young customers from RIT and UofR, and the music catered more to this audience - it was a bit loud for my preference. But, service was very good and it is a fun casual environment to enjoy some good, reasonably priced chow with friends!

Not very adventurous but a good start for comparisons. My impression was that each item was well-prepared with fresh ingredients. Just would have liked more broccoli in the chicken. Ordered online directly with og for pickup. A very friendly app and food was ready quickly. We'll try other items soon.
