Had the pleasure of trying this awesome fusion food truck at Ale Smith Brewery for an event. I was like whattt? Italian && Mexican?! Sounds promising. The pastas on the menu were only noodles. Spaghetti or fettuccine. I would've like to have seen some bow tie/elbow since it's on the logo board. Lol. So no bow tie, I opted for a spaghetti plate. &a sampler platter from the Mexican side. The portions are shareable, there were 4 huge meatballs and 2 large bread slices. I split this plate between 3kids and they still had leftover. Can't speak on how it tasted because my kids refused to share *eye-roll* that is until they couldn't finish it, but I was already full with the sampler! It came with shrimp quesadilla, chicken flautas over a bed of salad, and carne asada chips. They only gave 1verde hot sauce, &that's all you really need. I usually flood my food with red&green hot sauce, but i ate mostly everything as is without sauce because it was already so savory. That hot sauce though, it was bomb! You could taste the freshness it, like it was made the same day. It was more on the mild side though. The only thing I'd recommend is grilling the shrimp instead of boiling it, cause it just made it look and taste a bit bland. Especially with white queso, it was a lot underwhelming. Wow, i just had the best shrimp burrito of my life. And no i'm not faded, only had a 1/3 beer before eating. I was expecting something totally different. Starting with the softest flour tortilla i have ever touched...it felt like cashmere or silk. Nope, i'm not on mushrooms. It kind of tasted like if a Vietnamese spring roll and a shrimp taco had a baby. This would be it. It was so light and refreshing. Odd description for a burrito right? When they first brought it out and i saw it I was thinking maybe this wasn't a good idea. Then i took a bite and wow...then took a bite of a tortilla chip and that just took the flavor to the next level. My guess is that only a very few amount of people order this ...i rarely order shrimp burrito's because im usually disappointed because most places fill them with rice, but do yourself a favor and come and get you sum of dis. Stopped by Zoe's Place after attending an event at Alesmith Brewery. I ordered the steak fries and my boyfriend ordered the nacho fries. The portions are huge and are such a great value for the price. I was able to get two meals out of this. The nachos were crunchy and the fries were fresh. The only thing that I wasn't a fan of was the style of cheese that they used. The cheese used for the fries and nachos was a nacho-style cheese. For the nachos, I think this was a great option. However, I thought this was a bit odd that this type of cheese was used on the fries. The cheese was a little runny and caused my fries to become soggy fairly quickly usually prefer shredded cheese when ordering fries, so I was definitely a little confused when I saw the runny cheese. I feel that the fries and nachos could have had a lot more flavor and seasoning. The overall taste felt a little plain to me. The fries and nachos came with a side of sauce that had a mild flavor without any spice. I poured the sauce over the fries and nachos but it was still lacking in flavor. However, you could tell that the food was fresh so that's a plus. read more

I truly need to expand my food horizon with Zoe's so I can speak to more than their carne Asada nachos and flautas! But alas I'm a creature of habit and every time the same order flows off my tongue. Perhaps because I know with absolute certainty the food will be so tasty! The nachos are nicely loaded...no skimping out here! The chips are perfectly crunchy and the carne is tender and nicely seasoned. I especially like their flautas...impeccably fried so that they are light and crunchy, and the cilantro cream sauce is just the perfect match. Staff is incredibly friendly and they hustle! The only potential negative I've ever seen is when they are crazy busy and have to pause orders for a bit to catch up. But I totally appreciate the fact that they are able to recognize the crunch and very kindly and honestly tell customers that they need to pause and why. read more

Went to Alesmith today and Zoe's Place has their food truck there. The wife and I went for a steak quesadilla and were both impressed with it. The best quesadilla either of us recalls having in the past decade:. First off, the white cheese that they used was a quality grade, as was evident by the fact that the quesadilla was not greasy at all. Also, rather than overpowering the quesadilla with massive amounts of cheese, they struck the perfect balance of cheese to meat to tortilla, giving it great mouthfeel and nice balance of flavors. Lastly, my wife loved the regular salsa that came with it, while I lived their spicy habanero salsa. I look forward to them opening a restaurant in the future; in the meantime I hope to serendipitously come across their food truck when I'm out and about. read more

This taco truck brought a lot of happiness to my mom, who rarely eats out. She enjoyed the spicy diabla shrimp taco and the regular shrimp taco, stating it was better than tacos from my fave taco place in SD. Also, I enjoyed the mahi mahi and the carne asada. The fish was well cooked and so was the carne. The guac on the carne taco was fresh and there was plenty of well seasoned meat. One thing that threw me off was the spring mix in the fish taco, since I've never had a taco with it before. Not bad but didn't add to my enjoyment. Also, I think they would benefit from offering spicier salsa options. I had a non-spicy salsa which didn't hit the spot. All in all, good tacos and worth a try! read more

The food is amazing. Burritos, tacos, and especially the churros. The staff is always very friendly and accommodating. They take great care to make your order the way you want it (ie: adding guacamole or cooking the steak more rare). They also come by to ask how everything is while you're eating, which no food trucks make the effort to do. Fantastic service for a food truck. And the churros...seriously...are the BEST. I enjoyed a nice grilled mahi mahi fish burrito from this food truck while visiting Helix Brewery. Although I thought the burrito could of used more Mahi Mahi, it was delicious and generously filled with the rest of the ingredients. The burrito also came with a side of corn tortilla chips and salsa for $9. The mahi was pretty well prepare and seasoned. It was a bit over done but tasty nevertheless. The burrito also came with a good amount of healthy dark green lettuce or maybe it was spinach, fresh chopped tomatoes, and a terrific cool cream sauce. The flour tortilla was nice. It had that good warm and moist soft texture. The tortilla chips were crispy and the salsa was tasty with a good mild heat. It was good eating the salsa with the tortilla chips and burrito, but I do wish they offered a green salsa with the burrito which always pairs well. That'll get you a taco, although some are a bit more. I had a surf and turf taco (extra buck, oh no) and IT WAS GREAT. Good sized, plenty of carne and shrimp, came with a few chips and one of the best salsas i've ever had. Seriously. he guys working were as pleasant as can be. I don't give 5 stars too often because nothing's perfect, but this is a solid set up by me. All you one star reviewers have a very severe problem. I don't know how to start this review. I love Zoe's place. I've tried pretty much everything on their menu. I wish I had another stomach to fit more! My favorite are the chicken flautas. The best part is that they don't serve you basic quality. They use proteins that aren't full of connective tissue and fat. A fat is great, but there is always a limit. I learned this from my husband who is a professional chef. Every time we show up to this truck, we are greeted with a friendly face and even better price. The pricing is more than fair for what they offer and food is usually quick to come out. Sometimes they have a line but it's obvious because everybody wants their food!
