Charming spot in Blaine; everything we tried was tasty (though the sauce could use more flavor). The branzino lettuce wraps were my favorite. The service was excellent and attentive, and the ambiance was pleasant with music at a suitable volume for conversation.

Love the food. They were nice and welcoming. Will come back!

First of all, I love the welcoming feeling when I got here. The staffs are great. Secondly, they have impressive menu. We got new version of banh xeo, bo ne and the grill bone marrow. Those are fantastic. Will be back

Goi flavorful with the pork belly, sesame chips were fresh out the fryer

The restaurant is a small corner location and in the summer there is a few additional outside tables. They don't have a parking lot it is street parking but we have never had any issues finding parking. My favorite things here are the piquillos (filled roasted peppers), Vieras (scallops), and the pollo (chicken) with a glass of wine. I have been told I should try the Borrego (rack of lamb) but it's hard to pass up on my favorites.

As usual, Rincón 38 served up a splendid evening thanks to the delicious food, wonderful service from Fernando, and delightful environment. We got some of our reliable favorites--piquillos, the queso frito, and the coliflor. As usual, the flavors and plating were exquisite. I always appreciate the balance of flavors and textures. Salty, savory, sweet, and piquant meet tender, creamy, and crispy. It is truly always a delight for all the senses. My birthday treat was the créma catalana, the Catalan answer to crème brûlée: sweet custard sits under a crunchy sugar crust and is topped with a lovely cinnamon-flavored apple concoction. We also tried a relatively new addition to the dessert menu--the Spanish coffee flan. With just the right amount of sweetness, this flan was sturdy and melts in your mouth. The coffee balanced the sweetness and creaminess--imagine the best coffee dessert you have had, and you're getting close.

I started with their signature cocktail, the Naked Dani. It comes topped with a salty foam and a little rubber duck, which makes it a fun and memorable drink. For food, we ordered a variety of dishes to share. We started with the Crispy Masa Chips, and honestly, I would probably skip those next time. The portion was pretty small, they were a little awkward to eat, and they just didn't stand out flavor-wise. The Cucumber Watermelon Salad, on the other hand, was amazing. It was light and refreshing, making it the perfect addition to the meal. The roasted sweet potatoes were another favorite--they had so much flavor and were cooked perfectly. We also ordered the Corn Elote Chipotle, which was absolutely delicious. I could have easily eaten the whole bowl myself. For tacos, we tried the Pork Carnitas, and they were fantastic. If you're dining with a larger group, you can even order a larger portion so everyone gets one. Our favorite dish of the night, though, was the Zubuton Asada. It only comes with one skewer and is definitely one of the pricier menu items, but it was worth it. The steak was cooked perfectly, incredibly flavorful, and easily the standout of the meal. We also tried the Chicken Thigh Pincho. It had a nice flavor but was spicier than I expected, so it's probably the one dish I would pass on during my next visit. Overall, we had such a fun dining experience. It's definitely more of a special occasion spot than somewhere I'd visit regularly because of the price, but everything from the atmosphere to most of the food made it feel well worth the splurge.

It's Taco Tuesday and I was craving Mexican food, but I didn't just wanna go to the type of place…read moreyou think of when "Mexican" is brought up... I'm fancy, so I wanted something a bit more upscale. I did a little bit of research and wouldn't you know it... Colita came up. So here's how it went! Atmosphere/Appearance: Set south of downtown and a bit west of The Mall of America on Penn Avenue is this gem. There is no private parking lot, but plenty of street parking to leave your fly ride. But once you walk up to the restaurant you can immediately understand the message they're trying to send. Everything looks so modern, straightforward with straight lines, grey colors and light woods. There is a small outdoor section where you can dine if you get lucky enough to land a spot there. Inside carries a very similar style with a little nod to the pueblos and architecture of the southwest. The decor is minimalistic and the "loudest" thing in the room is the live plant wall seated directly behind the bar, which was super cool. Service: I can't remember who took care of us, but we had no issues whatsoever. Food/Drink: I was able to try so many different dishes and drinks here and the list is below... : Xochitl In Love : La Clandestina : Tuna Tostada : Chicken Tinga Tostada : Seared Scallops : Tlayuda : Colita Old Fashioned : Lamb Barbacoa Tacos : Duck Tamal However, my favorite things were the Lamb Barbacoa Tacos, Duck Tamal and Seared Scallops, in that order. The food here is phenomenal, the drinks are excellently crafted and things are served tapas style so you don't get too full off of just one thing! Order a whole bunch of stuff and share with the table! Value: As I mentioned earlier, I wanted upscale and the priced dddooo reflect that. Lol. This is a nice place so be prepared to spend... Like you're downtown somewhere. In conclusion, I loved this place and I will come back over and over. Check this place out the next time you're in the area!

Back to Pink Ivy. The service is quality. Our reserved table was ready when we arrived. The reservation policy may seem "strict", but if you can live with needing to provide a 24 cancel notice, I think you will find the service is good because the business doesn't get slammed by unexpected high demand. Wait person timing was off a tad when we first sat down. It felt a little rushed as we order our drinks and considered a starter. In fairness, a table of 16-20 followed us in so the wait person may have been doing us a favor. But it did influence my four star rating. Otherwise I'd have given 5 stars. Great care was taken when wait person checked for allergies. Not just asked, but noted and went to the kitchen to confirm. During the meal, flatware was changed out between courses, water refilled without disruption and the order arrived on time and all at one time. Our group enjoyed the halibut, salmon, and chicken bacon meatball items. Everyone loved their meals. A few of us ordered and split salads. We passed on desserts. The menu range may not be pages long, but all the usual suspects are there; salads, fish, poultry, beef, and pasta. And I know the chef rotates items on the menu. I encourage you to plan ahead. Reservations fill up days in advance. I think you'll find it worth the extra planning. PS my ratings are adjusted for the type of venue. These are not Michelin stars.

We purposely went to Bar Brava while they were doing Sushi by Baaska!…read more TLDR of this review: great food, but expensive. We parked around the corner on the street, and climbed over icy snow piles onto the completely-iced-over sidewalk. Good news is that there is ample free parking if you can brave the ice. The restaurant is long an narrow, with a big glass case of beverages as you walk in. The cracks in the bricks are plugged throughout with wine corks. It's a cozy unpretentious space. We ordered a variety of dishes for 4 people, so we could taste different things. Our food came out quickly and in no particular order (we didn't mind this, but if you were expecting a more evenly paced meal, you might be surprised). They had a good variety on the short wine list, including Sake, and the sparking rose I ordered was delicious, though I wish it wasn't $20 a glass. The first dish that came out was the crispy tuna rice, and it was also probably my favorite dish. Truly delicious with so much flavor! I split the 18 piece sashimi platter for my main, and learned that I do actually really love good tuna. I got to try 3 types, all with different amounts of fat, and it was so much fun! I wish it came with a simple side of rice though, just a plain bowl as a palate cleanser and for some grains would have been nice. After we split the sashimi, we ordered another roll because we were still hungry. Then we had the Bar Brava roll (which despite my love of salmon, was not my favorite, I think because the sauce was very strong) and the Just Yellowtail Roll (which was more to my liking, but again, the sauce was stronger than I would prefer). Gyoza were solid, and Karaage was perfectly cooked (hot, so hot!) and tender. Lastly, we couldn't leave without trying Chef E's Uni Pasta. IT looked beautiful, and was so rich and creamy that just 1/4th of a serving was enough for me. I am glad I didn't order this as my main, though, because would have had to order more food. The fish was truly the standout in all of the food- it was of exceptional quality and preparation. I can only assume that is partly why the prices were what they were. I have had similar rolls for 1/2 the price that were better than half the quality (meaning they were also good). So, for the amount of food provided, I didn't think the prices were super reflective, and for that reason, I gave 4 stars (though the food was a 5).
