Service was okay, the horchata was great and so was the bionico (i suggest they leave the grapes out as they were soft and the only unpleasant part) . I also got some chorrizo fries and a torta Ahogada de carnitas that could have been better. The fries had very little meat but they were okay, just over priced and skimmped. The carnitas unfortunately I would not recommend at all because it was dry and tasted old. I tried it alone and drenched as it should be with their sauce but ended up just not liking it and tossed it. Payed $50 and some change for 4 items, wasn't the worst but the quality wasn't quite there for the prices. They have potential but some items definitely need improvement. The food is overpriced and not good quality. I had a seafood tostada mixta, first off, I've never have had a tostada where the ketchup overpowered the seafood. Also, they charged me $17 for one tostada. I also tried the tacos, with handmade tortillas. Worst tasting tortillas I've ever had, it had a rancid after taste. Service was excellent! Had a super nice waitress who went above and beyond for us. The food was delicious, I got the molcajete which came with grilled shrimp, chicken, carne asada (ranchera), cheese (oaxca), chorizo, and nopales. All of it was sooo good and the sauce it was in had just the right amount of kick! My parents got the shrimp cocktail which came with a lot of big shrimp and they loved it. They also got the chile verde plate and the meat was so tender it was falling off the bone. We will definitely be going back soon. Wish we'd known about this place sooner. read more

I ordered the molcajete and my husband ordered a carnitas green burrito and both dishes were absolutely delicious!! The molcajete is pretty big so I would definitely recommend sharing it with someone. They also have hand-made tortillas. The food had so much flavor and was definitely authentic Mexican food. Their chips and salsa given before our meals were also delicious. The restaurant itself is very clean and has a welcoming atmosphere. The service was exceptional and the server gave great recommendations for our food and drinks. I ordered a strawberry margarita and a Paloma and they were both delicious. I've been to this restaurant three times at night after work and my experience had been great. The food delicious, the service great. My last experience was on December 31, 2024 and It was terrible. I should've left a minute. I stepped in there. I didn't know whether I walked into somebody house or walked into a restaurant. I believe it was the owner working that day and it appeared like her daughter was there with her husband and like two or three kids who were loud as F they were throwing the metal chairs around, they were knocking them over and they were hitting tile, yelling at the top of their lungs! I thought surely this will only last a minute or two and they are going to quiet them down because they have customers walking in to eat, It was loud and noisy throughout my entire meal with my daughter. The food was also horrendous, the cook must had had the day off! I ordered 1 chicken enchilada and two cheese my daughter ordered all chicken. It was disgusting, the tortillas were brown greenish, which indicated that they used old burnt oil, the chicken in an enchilada is supposed to be shredded as it has been in past and anywhere else and It had taco chicken, it was in chunks and fried! Dry as F, barely any sauce, the beans tasted like they were rancid. I received lame service and food was very bad. People go to a restaurant to enjoy their meal and not have your ears ringing from all the loud noise and misbehaving kids screaming the whole time. The prices are high considering that you can go eat at Pancho Villas for about the same price and enjoy a beautiful restaurant with a nice atmosphere, but I want to support small local mom and pop Buisness and that why prior to that day I had decided that that was going to be my local go to place, but I don't really think that I want to go back there again. Like I said prior to me going on December when the owner was there my experience had been great. My first time here and I was very pleased with the service and food, the birria tacos are delicious and are made with a home made corn tortilla, a must try. The Chapala bowl another excellent must try, the rice is perfect to taste reminded me of my grandma's rice, so bomb. We ordered this tonight on Doordash, maybe in-person is better. I got their advertised "most ordered", Torta Ahogada. The bread is hard, it's hard to bit, the dip is straight tomato soup and the carnitas has zero favor and is also hard like it sat all day or was left overs from yesterday. We took a visit down to Tortas Ahogadas Chapala and were pleased with the experience. We walked in and were greeted kindly and we got to choose our own seats which I personally enjoy. We sat down and were immediately served fresh salsa and chips which were the perfect size. We ordered chicken quesadillas and a tripa burrito . The chicken quesadillas came with guacamole, lettuce and sour cream on the side which were quite delicious. The burrito was your usual standard burrito with rice and beans. I personally love tripe and it's always amazing to find a location that serves it! So many delicious options, the molcajate is to die for, so perfectly seasoned and marinated especially with the thick and fluffy handmade tortillas and AMAZING molcajete sauce. Worst experience....$26 for a shrimp and octopus cocktail with only 7 shrimp and all juice! I ordered a wet burrito with carnitas and beans and it just had meat onions and cilantro. Straight BOMB ! I walked in expecting an average Mexican place but the moment I sat down , I felt like I was in Mexico. They brought chips and salsa and I could tell by the way the salsa looked , it was going to be good. Once I tired the salsa , an explosion of flavors and spices filled my mouth. It was the BEST salsa I've ever had. We ordered food and was acquainted by an awesome server. She helped us a lot. We order tacos Burria , ahogate torta , tacos pastor , tacos papas, tacos carnitas , quesadillas, and tacos pork. All the food was served and made so beautifully. Service was very fast as well. Once finished eating , I ordered a flan , and let me tell you , it was the best flan I've ever eaten. Thick, creamy , lightly sweetened with a hint of coffee. The best flan. Best of mexican food we've had in a looong time. My family and I where on our way to Vegas this past Saturday Nov. 4th. We googled Mexican restaurants in Victorville and Tortas Ahogadas Chapala was one of the many that came up. The name caught our attention and we decided to give it a try. My daughter ordered the chicken wet burrito and must have been at least 1lb she could only eat half. My second daughter ordered the chicken torta ahogada and she said it was the best she ever had. I ordered the tacos de chicharron with hand made tortillas and my wife had the tacos de cabeza also with hand made tortillas. we ended our meal with a Hiricalla. we cant wait to go back! the only thing that was missing was a cold corona to wash down my tacos de chicharron. I was told by our server that they will be serving alcohol soon. Nothing goes better with this delicous food than a hand maded margarita or an iced cold beer. See you soon. read more
