My friend and I got a Groupon for a 90 minute massage and mini facial for about $66 and wow this is such a good deal! The best way to describe this is it's an upscale environment with Chinatown prices. For 90 minutes at $66?! I don't think you can beat this price anywhere! I asked for a female masseuse because men typically use too much strength and I didn't want to risk that again. The female masseuse had perfect pressure the whole time, no complaints whatsoever. The only thing is I was literally freezing the whole 90 minutes! My friend said that I should have said something and I should have. The room was a couples room and I can hear my friend being very vocal with what she wanted done (she had the male masseuse). The hot stone was decent, usually my favorite but it cooled down too quickly. The scalp massage was decent as well. Personally don't like feet massages so I wanted that to be over and done asap! The facial was nothing special. They clean your face and then apply a mask of some sort that smelled like aloe/avocado? The masseuse didn't waste any time while the mask was masking - she went to work on my feet as well. I appreciated that. My friend didn't want the facial so she got the feet massage only. She also didn't want the scalp massage. The room was also really bright, I would have preferred dimmed lighting. The restrooms were also super clean and spacious. They had paper towels and actual soap dispensers for their soap...this is important! So many East Asian establishments give you the crappy dial bottle with soap so it's all about the details. Masseuse left the room for 2 minutes and didn't say anything so I figured we were done, she came back in while I was getting dressed and showed me the stop watch, which said 30 minutes (and counting). I said, "So we're done then?" She didn't say anything and got 2 of her coworkers to come in and tell me that the massage wasn't over, even though they kept showing me the stop watch which was a few minutes over 30 at this point. All the while, they held the door wide open to the business and I was just sitting there covering myself with the blanket. I asked them 3 times to shut the door so I could change, regardless of whether or not the massage was actually finished. To which they said "the manager will come talk to you." The manager came to tell me the massage wasn't over, but at this point I was fully dressed so I just asked to pay. I explained the situation to the manager and all he really had to say was, "they're not supposed to talk during the massage." I put $30 down on the counter and he said "tip your masseuse." We've been here twice for couples massages and the first time was great - the women masseuse were respectful and gentle. The second time, we had 2 gross men and they were inappropriately groping everything. As in, groping private parts for both me (my buttocks and breast) and my guy (scrotum area). I've had over 100 massages in my life time and I've never experienced the awkwardness and lack of skill displayed here. The men are extremely loud, chatty, and clear their noses and throat phlegm while massaging couples. So much for romantic couples massages. There's also no actual techniques utilized. It's random rubbing. Professional massage spas take an intake form and ask for areas of focus. Here, you walk in and that's sort of it. Lots of punching around. The men also stare you down while you settle out and tip. We actually accidentally overtipped at 40% because we were trying to just get out of there and miscalculated. Even then, they were hounding us down about it. They wanted $30 tip each. That would be 60% tip on a $100 service (cost of the massage for 2). How that makes sense is beyond my understanding. Absurd. Never again. They accept both cash and card and the prices are good for a spa/massage spot in Chelsea. Before I begin my cons, I have been here 4 times since 2021. My first visit went well, the ladies that did my husband and my massage we're great, understood what we wanted. The 2nd time, it was okay, it felt rushed and the ladies talked through the whole thing. It was hard to relax with some constantly talking and laughing. Some of the masseuses do not speak English very well, which I really don't care, but my last visit the person doing my massage did not understand me and he almost broke my bones.
