Beware of bait and switch! Provided quote by phone instead of in writing. I was very specific on the phone in terms of square footage as well as the material and size of an area rug and received a competitive quote. Day of appointment, technicians arrive an hour late, and it goes downhill from there. The technician providing the quote starts adding up numbers that are more than 2x what I was quoted, but the worst part was how disrespectful and patronizing he was. In addition to trying aggressively to upsell stain protection and premium services, he insisted that I didn't know which business I received the quote from (I did) and practically berated me about not wanting special stain removal services and the "special treatment" needed for my (very generic) area rug. The cherry on top was that the biggest 'stain' he could point out was literally a scuff left by his associate who had just started vacuuming (his associate graciously took responsibility and removed the 'stain'). He wanted to charge me $100 for that. He refused to move forward with just a regular cleaning of the two rooms and left. No follow up by the office after that which pretty much confirms my suspicion that this is a regular business practice for them. Never again. read more

We had a very similar 'bait and switch' experience as written about below. The day our service was scheduled the tech was a hour late. Not great but certainly understandable. When the tech arrived, he doubled the price from our quote. When we were quoted, we provided very detailed information about the square footage and specs of our place. So we asked why the priced doubled. We were told that the material of the carpet and our stains warranted the increase. The tech left after we disagreed with the cost of service. Then the office agreed to lower the price, but didn't not send the tech back to complete the service day of. It was a very awkward and frustrating, and worst of all - a waste of time. Look I get you're trying to maximize your economics, but this was just a bad process and a negative customer experience. read more

I've used Chem dry before on a couch that an old cat peed on but when I transported an old cat in a soft crate, he had peed and it leaked onto my car seat and maybe on the floors of my car. I tried Nature's Miracle for months. Maybe a full container of it. while it was better, it was still horrible. I even thought about SELLING THE CAR. I tried a few car wash places to try and get it steamed cleaned but nobody does it. Finally, after months, I called Leonard. He actually didn't want to do it because there's no guarantee that they can remove the odor. I told him that I understood that and would not complain or ask for a refund if it didn't work. A few months ago, my girlfriend and I were lamenting the state of our couch and almost gave up hope on it. Our poor cat had had some accidents on it, and despite our intensive cleaning afterwards, it still seemed like there was some lingering unpleasant scents. So we went in search of sofa/carpet cleaning on yelp and came upon the stellar reviews for Leonard. We gave him a call and he was able to come in the same week. As a precaution, we had him treat our whole carpet in addition to the couch. After a couple days, the living room smelled fresh and neutral and our sanity was returned to us. As for the actual service, the two associates were both really professional and thoroughly answered any questions we had. Started out very good, but went downhill fast. Requested quote from their well constructed website: specified number of stairs, dimensions of carpeted areas and sizes of area carpets with total square footage tabulated. Got quick call back within a few m minutes with quote after Leonard asked a few questions and got clarifications. Itemized quote was $209 to $233 which seemed reasonable. Scheduled appointment a couple of days later. Maybe Yelp 5 star rating was correct. Workers showed up about 45 minutes late with no apologies. Head guy spent about 30 minutes compiling estimate. His total came to $437. No way, called Leonard to see if he could resolve discrepancy. Leonard called his worker, they agreed to reduce their quote by $100 which was still 50% higher than original quote. Their in-person quote included a $50 fee for stain remover which I felt was a real gouge. The reason you have carpets cleaned is because they are dirty and stained. Worker basically gave me an attitude and told me the higher quote was MY fault because I failed to tell Leonard two of the area carpets were wool. My response - Leonard did not ask, how should I know to tell him when he did not ask? Told them this was not going to work and escorted them out. Afterwards. we noticed the area where they were reeked of bad cigarette breath despite them both wearing masks. That odor lasted about a half hour. Sure glad I did not use this company. read more

The ChemDry process doesn't saturate the carpet like a normal shampoo system. Resulting in a dry time in about 4 hours. Michael the tech first vacuumed, spot sprayed dirty areas, used the carbonated cleaning solution onto the carpet, next was a rotary scrubbing machine to lift the dirt up, and final two step cotton scub to dry and pickup any remaining surface dirt. I had previously tried purchasing my own carpet cleaner and using the "Pet Solution" - to be honest, that only made the issue worse. I was able to find availability just a few days out. Korman called 15 minutes prior to confirm availability. He arrived, was incredibly professional and efficient, and did an excellent job. Mike and Kevin cleaned our 2 bedroom apartment yesterday afternoon and we are very happy with the results. Not only were they able to come a little earlier than we had originally scheduled, they were friendly, professional, and finished in about 90 minutes. The carpets were mostly dry within a few hours and by the next morning totally dry. I didn't have that high of hopes as our carpets are fairly old but they removed a few old wine stains and the major traffic areas are much improved. Had a great experience with Chem-Dry and highly recommend them. I own a large five-piece sectional couch that consists of natural material and is white/cream colored. The couch has collected a number of small stains over the years, and I was on the verge of replacing it with a new, darker couch for fear a white couch could never be truly cleaned (and why I ever agreed to purchase a white couch in the first place is still a mystery to me...). I found Chem-Dry on Yelp, liked the reviews, and set-up an appointment which was easy to do. Two days later, Chem-Dry sent over Corman to clean the couch, and he was awesome. Not only was Corman extremely friendly, but he worked quickly, explained the entire cleaning process to me (which was helpful for future reference), and did a fantastic job in about 45 minutes. I'm happy to say my couch looks almost-new again, and these guys just saved me a couple grand on having to buy a new piece of furniture. My only criticism and reason for less than five stars -- the eventual price I paid was double what I was quoted over the phone. Granted, the couch was bigger than I initially explained, and I opted for extra services (like scotch-guarding, etc.). But just be prepared for a higher bill than you might think it'll be. Regardless, Chem-Dry was fantastic, and Corman was The Man. Look them up the next time someone spills a full glass of champagne on your cool, white couch at 2 a.m. on New Year's Eve. read more

I booked Chem-Dry by Leonard to come into our office and clean over 40 chairs, sectionals, and couches over the weekend. As it was a pretty big job, Corman (who was courteous and professional, I might add) came out to do an evaluation of our furniture ahead of time in order to give us an accurate quote. This service cost $35, but it was taken off of our final invoice when I decided to book them for the job. I scheduled them for a Saturday, which Corman happily agreed to, and when the day came, he and another technician, Malik, came to our offices promptly at the agreed-upon time. Embarrassingly, I was a few minutes late, but they patiently waited for me to show up and were very nice about the whole thing. After all was said and done, it took Malik ~5 hours to complete the job. While I'm not too familiar with the upholstery-cleaning process, he seemed to do a great job, overall. The only issue I had was that 2 chairs were missed that I had shown them. Normally, I might be inclined to give 4 stars because of this. However, when I realized what happened and called Corman a couple days later, he apologized and fit me into their cleaning schedule the NEXT day to come back and take care of them. We hired Chem-Dry by Leonard to clean two La-Z-Boy recliners that our grandma gave to us since she was getting new chairs. They hadn't been cleaned in a long time and my grandma has cats which I'm allergic to. They were on time, did an amazing job, and were super nice. We had them clean the chairs in the garage and they helped us carry them up one flight of stairs into our apartment when they were done. They pulled so much dirt out of the chairs too - the cleaning solution was so dirty afterward. The chairs dried in a few hours and are super clean.
