An absolute must for Rockefeller oysters and a massive shrimp po boy. Our waiter Kay, did an incredible job at making us feel so welcomed! I came where with a family of 5, they easily accommodated us and another party of 13. They have a great atmosphere and I would highly recommend this as a first stop for anyone coming to the French quarter. Don't be shy their cocktails have a Cajun kick!

Loved It! Great food. Outstanding service. Good location. If you are staying downtown it's easy walking distance. Very good food.

Omg!! We chose this place because they had good reviews on Yelp. Little did we know that we were in for a culinary experience. I had the chicken and sausage gumbo, and my husband had the crab shrimp and corn bisque. We shared the surf and turf. We are from Louisiana, so we know a good gumbo when we taste it. This was the only place in New Orleans where after tasting the gumbo I said this is delicious. My husband said the same about his bisque. The steak in the surf and turf dish was cooked perfectly, it was so tender! The brussel sprouts were incredible, Sweet and crisp. And, the mashed potatoes were so fluffy and creamy. When we come back to New Orleans, we're definitely going to patron this establishment again.

Come here to eat!! Just do it. Super chill vibe, excellent cocktails and really great food. We ended up here by happenstance and I will definitely return any time we're back in NOLA. I had the Bourbon Blackberry cocktail. You could taste the Bourbon and it wasn't that sweet. Great flavor profile We had the Fried Alligator and Calamari. Both were well seasoned and fried to perfection with a tasty dipping sauce. Yumm! The alligator wasn't tough at all and really tasty. I had a bowl of the crab, shrimp and corn bisque which was larger than I could finish. Sweet corn, tender shrimp and great balance of flavor. My husband had the most epic plate of fried catfish. That plate of catfish could have fed a small army. It was so well cooked and delish. Highly recommend!! The owner shared that the restaurant is named after a cook he used to work with who couldn't be found after Hurricane Katrina. Don't miss out on this restaurant. Oh and shout out to Martine for taking care of us! We'll be back!

First thing to mention is our Server Martine. She was phenomenal and very informative on the menu and helped us pick our drinks. We had the Char grill oysters as our starter. I am not a fan of oysters but these were delicious and packed with flavor! My wife and I chose the table side parmesan wheel with steak and shrimp. The shrimp was fresh and full of great flavor and seasoning! My steak was properly cooked and beyond worth the price for the taste. The restaurant is a corner place but very clean and well decorated. It sets the mood for a great date night or casual night with friends. I recommend it for sure.

Friendly service and outstanding food! We ordered a cup and the portion was more bowl-like. Loaded with crab meat and shrimp. You won't be disappointed!

So I'm walking around killing time waiting for Mom, and I happen to stumble upon this little bar. I had to stop because the reason I'm down here is to get a tattoo and go to a graduation party. Then I find this cute restaurant that's paying homage to a chef pre-Katrina named Otis, and I just had to stop in. Shout out to the bartender Felicia the service was fantastic!!

    Oyster po boy

Our wine and beer came out at the same time as the food. I think they were forgotten about, that's ok we are on vacation. Also, the food was ready just that fast. We got the food very fast. We ordered the shrimp and catfish platter and the oyster po boy. I loved the po boy and the hush puppies on the platter were perfect. Otherwise always hard to rate fried platters, but they were good, still had seafood flavor, wasn't over fried, catfish was cooked well. Nice little spot. Cons, it did feel a little pretentious which I think is a wild choice for any restaurant in an area off of " bourbon street " where I can walk out the door with a drink in my hand. Couldn't sit where we asked in a restaurant that wasn't even half full and never got any busier. I think had it been busier I would've understood. I guess it is newer and it ran like a newer restaurant so grace given there. All in all, I would recommend this place to others. Good food, good options/choices for everyone, and good flavors.

The restaurant and courtyard are beautiful, with a rich history that adds to the experience. Chris Hannah is one of the best bartenders in the business. He took the time to learn what we enjoyed and crafted cocktails that were absolutely spot on. Beyond the drinks, he was warm, engaging, and even shared a list of local recommendations that ended up being some of the highlights of our trip. Outstanding cocktails, genuine hospitality, and an unforgettable start to our New Orleans adventure.

We were seated in the upstairs area and tried some of their drinks. We got the Brandy Crusta which is their most popular drink and the Pouvez-Vous Poulet which is a seasonal cocktail. The Brandy Crusta has the cup dipped in sugar with a fairly strong cocktail within. Definitely get this when you are here as that is one of the best Brandy Crustas and is historical. The Pouvez-Vous Poulet is a duck fat washed rum cocktail and is also very delicious. You cannot really go wrong with any cocktail, but definitely order the Brandy Crusta for the true experience here. Though, honestly, while the cocktails are good, it was not as memorable as the other Top 50 Best Bars in the World that I have been to, but I won't dock a star off because of this, since the cocktails and overall experience otherwise were fantastic. Service is good but can be a bit slow, but it is an acceptable tradeoff for a more quiet ambience compared to downstairs.

While the Sazerac wasn't invented here, this is arguably its most iconic home, a place where New Orleans cocktail history comes to life. I would use this version as your gold standard when dining out in New Orleans and looking for a perfect Sazerac. We enjoyed watching bartender Rachel craft each drink. Rye whiskey, Peychaud's Bitters, and sugar are stirred in a small pitcher with ice. The serving glass is chilled, then emptied, and finished with an absinthe rinse along the rim. The cocktail is strained into the glass and topped with a lemon peel. The atmosphere makes the experience even better. The murals, the history, and the energy of the room give it a sense of occasion that you do not get at most bars. We had such a great time sitting at the bar that my wife and I each finished two and a half Sazeracs, which tells you everything you need to know.

Atmosphere/Appearance: It's EXTREMELY BUSY and very loud in here. Lol. As mentioned above, the bar is located inside the hotel so once you walk in through the front door you enter the lobby then head to the right. It's a first-come, first-serve situation (at least it was for us at the time). So of course, the carousel bar is the highlight. It's a slow rotating bar rail and it's adorable. Lol. Almost the entire bar is eyeing any available spots so you have to be quick, but be respectful. However, there are tables and such sprinkled throughout the bar where you can hangout at as you stalk the actual carousel. My wife and I sat in the window which made for some excellent people watching. Lol. Eventually after what felt like an hour or we did spot some spots on the carousel, my wife held them for me as I closed the check then finally got to sit... and SPIN! The bar completes a full revolution every 15 minutes so you definitely won't get dizzy. Service: We had no issues here whatsoever. The staff is just super busy all over the place, but they didn't miss a beat. Food: For my first drink I checked out their Oaxacan Midnight which was like a tequila play on the Old Fashioned. It was delicious, a bit lighter than an Old Fashioned, but certainly stood on it's own. For our first appetizer bar bite we tried the Blue Crab & Corn Beignet which didn't come out as I was expecting. Lol. I'm not mad, I just pictured the big, fluffy things from Cafe Du Monde, but maybe stuffed with goodies! These were more like fritter than I absolutely loved so much I ordered a 2nd plate. Lastly we tried the BBQ Shrimp which was grilled to perfection with a good snap, excellent flavor and good char along with a tangy, cream sauce on top. Value: It's pricey. Food and drinks were decent, but a SMIDGE overpriced, but... they know you're going to pay because you're on vacation, you're a tourist and you wanna be in this novelty bar. Lol. Regardless, I had a blast and you can say you did too whenever you check this place out! In conclusion, I've now been there, done that. Lol. I don't have to do it again, but if you're in the area, check this place out. It's a good time.

The Apothecary was the cure. We grabbed seats mid bar and before we even finished settling in, there were waters waiting on the bar. That simple move already separated this place from the chaos outside. It's hospitality in its cleanest form: welcome in, take a breath, we got you. Inside is low light and old time apothecary mood, menus like a spellbook, but it's not gimmicky. The bartenders move like they've done the reps. Calm. Precise. No frantic showboating, no syrupy cover ups, no sloppy pours even with the parade energy banging on the door. We ordered two and they were both dead on. Alchemist Elixir: pea flower gin, elderflower liqueur, fresh lemon. It shows up pale violet with an orchid on the rim and yes it's pretty, but it's also disciplined. Floral without tasting like perfume. Bright without being sour. A drink that makes you slow down. Plus a magic chemists surprise. Corpse Reviver #2: local gin, Lillet Blanc, Grand Marnier, absinthe, fresh lemon. Cold, crisp, citrus first, then the herbal edge and just enough absinthe to remind you what city you're in. Served in a textured coupe with a cherry skewer, details handled like they actually matter. Outside, the streets were selling amnesia in plastic souvenir cups. Inside, The Apothecary was serving adults. Let Bourbon Street keep the grenades. Give me the anecdote .
