What a nice surprise. It doesn't look like much from the outside but is nice inside. Food is very good. Hot and sour soup could use a tad of vinegar but all in all I give it an A. Mai tai was great

On the east coast for a visit and while up in the granite state and I figured I'd try this old "regular neighborhood" Chinese place for lunch. When I lived in the area, would stop by once in awhile and while it was "OK" it was never spectacular or even noteworthy. Usually just a place to stop for some American style Chinese food and some nondescript sushi. I guess today was no exception. The typical Chinese specials were if I remember, around $11.00 .Probably overpriced but since I don't live around here, can't really Judge. The sushi lunch specials selection was pretty paltry, so I passed on that and ordered steamed tofu and vegetables for my meal. Got a small bowl of wonton soup, which at least was hot. The fried rice was certainly not like I'm used to from the authentic places on the west coast and Nevada. The rice looked liked it was soaked in soy sauce , but was still pretty tasteless. The tofu looked like it was "raw" not steamed and the veggies were a decent amount of broccoli and snow peas with three (count 'em) slices of mushrooms. The dish was not served in a sauce, but rather with a small ramekin of a soy mixture on the side. Maybe I should have read the menu more carefully but I guess I was expecting a different style of prep and presentation. I mean it was Ok, but thats all I could say about it, just Ok. Service was decent. The female server (number 8) was friendly. Didn't bother to ask about a military discount. Will I be back? Probably not unless I'm really strapped for lunch.

Yet another trip back home to New England from Myrtle Beach and Chinese is ALWAYS on my mind. You people here are privileged to have great Chinese food wherever you choose to get it! Not the same down South. So enjoy and celebrate it! Chen Yang Li delivers a great arrangement of typical Chinese fare in a great dining experience along with table cloths! Tonight we had a party of 10 and everything came to the table hot and delicious. Our server, Dave was definitely earning his tip! We racked up a $400 check before we was full. What a great dining experience we had. Only wish there was a bit more bourbon selection to choose from....but I'm here for the pu pu platter and fried rice so HOMERUN!!!

    Combination fried rice

My wife and I just got back from over 12 months of touring the country and one of things we really missed was quality Chinese food. We hit up Chan Yang Li today only three hours after arriving home. Have to admit, it was pretty disappointing. We started with two Mai Tais, which was a mystery mix poured out of a plastic vinegar jug, then topped off with what we thought was liquor. The drinks just had a strange taste, possibly from fruit juice in the mix that wasn't fresh. They also tasted very weak. For dinner, we ordered a pu pu platter for two and a combination fried rice. The fried items on the platter were fresh and hot, even the egg rolls, but the beef teriyaki and the boneless ribs were both cold. When we mentioned it to the server, she basically just said sorry, some items are cooked first and cool off while the other items are being cooked. Funny, I've never encountered this at other restaurants, Chinese or otherwise. When I asked if they had heat lamps in the kitchen she said they used to have them, but they either don't work anymore or they just don't use them. This is absolutely ridiculous and no one there seems to care. The server didn't even mention it to a manager. No problems with the fried rice, it was served hot and tasted great. Given their lack of pride in what they're serving, we'll definitely be visiting the many other options in the area when we're in the mood for Chinese food

Man, do I feel like a friggin' dingus! Driving up to the location of this lovely establishment…read moreproved to be nothing shy of slightly misguided. I blame Google Maps for this (not the restaurant) because it had me turn directly into the EXIT lane! Yeah. By the time I realized my mistake, it was too late. Couldn't do a three point turn. Couldn't just reverse out of there and try again. So, I sheepishly drove my car at a snail's pace up the wrong way whilst veering as far to the right side as I could. Passed like 3 cars. Yep. I'll likely beat myself up over that one for years to come. Anyways, welcome to my Prime at Sky Meadow review! :D So, wifey and I share the same birth month. Every year, we choose a bougie restaurant to have what we call a combined birthday dinner together. Tired of always going to Ruth's Chris every other year, we decided to see what the locale had to offer. One thing led to another and...we ended up booking a res at Prime. Walking in, we're immediately greeted with an aura of elegance. The entrance consists of a grand standing lobby featuring a self playing piano, adding to the opulent atmosphere. We were able to get a table within mere seconds after they verified our reservation. The dining room LOOKS nice and has a great view, from what I understand (it was dark that evening, so we couldn't enjoy the view). Too bad I can't say the same for the acoustics. Out of the many fine dining restaurants I've visited in my life, Prime may possibly be one of the noisiest. I think it's because the tables are too close together. Which means you can almost hear entire conversations at the table next to yours. It's why I never travel in public without at least one pair of earbuds. Misophoniacs UNITE!! XD Now, I'd like to give a shout out to the waitress who took care of us that evening (I really wish I didn't suck with names so much). Service was stellar, overall. After receiving our drinks, we ordered the following.. Appetizers: Got the crab cake and clam chowder. Now, I just need to mention...our waitress had us at, "it's pure crab, no breadcrumbs". Both our eyes lit up as I said, "Yup. We'll take it!". Guys. I gotta tell ya....not a lot of restaurants can make a crab cake properly. Yet, Prime nails it! This thing was f#*!ing delicious! I dare say it may possibly be the greatest crab cake one can buy anywhere in the state of NH. And I will stand by that claim until or unless I discover better elsewhere. The clam chowder is in a league of its own. I often say how the very best chowders are the ones you don't have to add any additional seasoning to. This one totally slaps! Creamy, savory, made with REAL fresh clams. The cheesy bread they give on the side pairs brilliantly with the chowder as well. Solid 10 out of 10 for both apps! Mains: Wifey and I stuck with our favorites, getting a filet and ribeye, respectively. Describing the taste of these should be brief, since they seem to season all their steaks the same way. While the temperatures were absolutely spot-on, they could have used a bit more seasoning for our preference. However, we didn't see the need to send them back and just sprinkled some salt over the steak instead. Ch'yeah! Forgot to mention...this is one of the few fine dining restaurants that actually leaves the salt and pepper shakers on the table. Inconceivable! :o Got the lobster mac & cheese as the sharable side. And, uh....I think we were totally spoiled by RC's version of this. Because what Prime does here is....unique. The cheese (which I STILL cannot identify yet) was so mild, I truly believe the chefs were going for a subtle flavor. If done properly, it can actually give a delectable impression to the palate. Few extra dashes of salt, the whole thing was quite tasty! My one complaint here though: lobster meat was lacking. Normally, the ratio should be something like 70/30, macaroni's favor. This version was more like...85/15. Side's an 8 out of 10; steaks would both be a 9 out of 10. Dessert: Last, we have the peanut butter pie. I decided to take this one home, since I already felt like a pregnant whale by this point. Simply put, this pie was nothing short of sublime. Rock hard chocolate frosting aside, this was a 9 out of 10 for me. It's worth noting an 18% service fee is automatically charged to your total bill. So, take that into account when tipping. I'm not totally sure why they do this regardless of party size. Nevertheless, we made sure to close the gap, so to speak, on the gratuity by adding in an additional 7%. Service was just that good! Whilst I'd love to be able to give this place a perfect score, I honestly can't when considering the noisy ambiance of the dining area and lack of lobster portioning in their mac & cheese. That's not to say, however, that Prime is anything short of an amazing dining experience. I'm giving Prime at Sky Meadow 4 stunningly sweet chocolate peanut butter pies that melt in your mouth, not on your fork, out of 5.

I appreciate the fact they allowed us to be seated at different time as the second car was ten minutes behind. We started with a few drinks and took our time looking over the menu. Sarah was nice enough to give us insight on the portion size. All of the sides are shareable for 3-4 people. Even a few of the main dishes you can share amongst two people. The standout menu items were Miso Sea Bass, Ribeye, and mac and cheese. That Sea Bass was beyond amazing. Aside from the food our waitress was amazing, she was the queen at small talk. She had a wonderful attitude and was on top of our drink orders and brought the food out in a timely manner. The manager Felix was also such a delight. You can tell he loves his job and people! Made the graduates feel extra special especially with the comped desserts. (Thank you for remembering the nut allergy.) Such a lovely experience. Expect to pay around $75 - $125 depending on the main course and drinks. Thankful this is the location we choose to have a celebration dinner. Highly recommend for people visiting out of town and locals looking for a nice meal. Overall STRONG 5/5 stars!

It was fairly busy for a Tuesday night, which was a good sign. The miso soup came out first and looked a little watery at first, but the flavor actually grew on me by the end and had a nice umami taste. Honestly, the shrimp was really good, so it worked out fine. The steak was a little chewy/tough, but still decent overall. The vegetables and rice were pretty average. Best part of the meal by far was the tuna avocado roll. Big fresh pieces of tuna and avocado, simple and really well done for the price. As the surrealism took its time to dissipate, we were left wondering where he would want to have his post celebratory dinner. And so...You You Japanese Bistro was chosen. Upfront, I'll say this place has mad potential. In fact, there was really only one thing that I didn't enjoy all that much (and we'll get to that). But rest assured, there are far more positives than negatives about this place. We've already got it earmarked for a future date night spot, if that tells you anything. Tom Yum Soup: I got this rendition with tofu, since it takes on whatever flavor it's infused with. Now, we've had Tom Yum broth at our favorite Hot Pot restaurant in Londonderry. Well, this one had a slightly spicier finish and, more importantly, better seasoning. We were pleasantly impressed! The spice takes some getting used to so, I'll give this one a 9 out of 10; would highly recommend! Surf n' Turf Roll: I'm pretty sure this one was a special or something because it's not anywhere on the regular menu. Regardless, this one was surprisingly tasty! I've honestly never had sushi with beef in it before. But this one definitely worked! I don't really have any complaints about it so....10 out of 10. Lobster Salad Roll: Now, I actually prefer this one to the previous roll; mainly because I'm a seafood freak. Simple, yet highly palatable and refreshing. It's basically lobster meat rolled with various vegetables and rice, of course. Pairs cleverly with soy sauce. 10 out of 10. Fried Japanese Rice with Shrimp: Here's where dinner slightly derailed for me. I didn't know what exactly to expect here since everyone's version of fried rice varies. I'll tell you what I DIDN'T expect though--a lack of flavor. This rice was tragically bland with some of the tiniest shrimp I've seen in a while. Moreover, the shrimp themselves appeared to be steamed rather than pan seared (I'm partial to grilled personally, but that's neither here nor there). It was okay, but definitely not worth a revisit. I'm sorry. But if I can make better fried rice at home, that's an instant 'L' for me. 4 out of 10; would not get again. In hindsight, I really should have tried the Tempura Shrimp with Vegetable Rice. At least white rice is innocuous enough not to screw up. Probably. Eh, like I said - we shall return one day. Also, major kudos for the outstanding service coupled with the fact they leave BOTH regular and low sodium soy sauce as well as chopsticks on the table. Seriously, why can't more Asian restaurants be like this? You You Japanese Bistro gets 4 Lobster Salad Rolls crafted with care out of 5.

Lots of nooks and crannies, including an L-shaped bar, before you get to the main dining room. VERY lengthy menu comprising at least four Asian cuisines. My wife and I tried 10 dishes over two visits. -- Scallion Pancake: My wife chose this. Not exactly blazing new ground, but light, crispy, more scallion flavor than most, and ginger dipping sauce darker, thicker, clingier, and tastier than most. Above average. -- Cold Noodles with Sesame Sauce: Gotta mix this all up to get all the flavors distributed. Thin noodles, softer than most, and mildly spicy sauce saucier than most-- meaning it somewhat overpowered the noodles textually. Taste wise, no problem. Average. -- Singapore Chow Mei Fun Noodles with Tofu: This is my wife's dish and her domain. She's pretty particular about how she wants her noodles, and she was pleased that this rendition was neither too wet nor too sweet. Thumbs up from her. I tried a small bite and agreed. Above average. -- Biang Biang Noodles with Spicy Cumin Lamb: My favorite dish of the day and a pleasure both taste wise and texture wise. Long, thick noodles that felt homemade, not too sticky, not impossible to break, and nice wiggle. Not particularly spicy in the hot pepper way, but very spicy in the flavor way, with the cumin, as well as complementary vegetables. I've had this dish in a bunch of places and I gotta say this was the freshest I've ever had the lamb. Just enough liquid to make it work while letting the noodles and lamb shine. Well above average. Some heat would bring it over the top. -- Fish Filets in Sichuan Hot Chili Broth: Standard dish, solid execution with no surprises. Very tender fish, perhaps a little fuller if cut than most and a bit less spicy than most. Average, but not a bad average-- this dish is usually good and so was this rendition. -- Honey Spareribs: The second visit started with a dud here, as the ribs looked and felt very old. Honey glaze with odd cinnamony notes couldn't hide the dryness. I sent them back and they took them off the bill. -- Cucumber and Fungus in Vinegar Sauce: A cool, refreshing dish with the cukes well marinated but still crisp to the bite. -- Mini Pork Buns: Small (grape-sized) balls of pork surrounded by bao dough, steamed and lightly fried, served with a sweetened soy sauce. Not bad, not remarkable. --Sautéed String Beans: Thin, moist, cooked through but still retaining snap, slightly blackened in a good way, and accented with salty fermented bits. Very nicely done, though not spicy as billed. -- Ma Po Tofu without Meat: Soft, silky tofu and a smooth, mildly spicy sauce without any bits and pieces to add interest. Good flavor but a little one-note. Good service. You don't often get full service, never mind good service, at a hand pulled noodle joint, so this was a pleasant surprise. The interpretations of classic dishes were different enough that I can see some naysayers, but I mostly liked mostly everything, with the first visit very strong and the second a bit of a drop off. Very good value, as the volume of servings was higher than most and the pricing was lower than most. HUGE menu. Some might say too huge, too ambitious, and I agree. But as long as the execution is there in a few key dishes-- like the biang biang noodles I'll mostly stick to--I'm happy. My wife likes it, so there'll be more visits.
