Maia is fantastic and has never let me down, especially when I need a quick turnaround - She kindly obliged, without hesitation - Also the team at Chenille Organic Cleaners, are not to be left out especially when it comes to tailoring, hemming, etc. My girlfriend recently got her Bridesmaid's dress altered at Chenille, and they delivered the dress the same day. I'm not sure what happened to my first review explaining this but I'll post again. I went to Chenille all throughout my undergrad at John Jay. I was picking up my shirts when I noticed a stain on my shirt that was not there before. I brought it to the attention of one of the employees and his attitude was not acceptable. He wanted me to pay to have it dry cleaned and when I refused he cut me off and said "fine, we'll do it!" Upon, pick-up the following day , there was the manager there who was told the situation by me and was apologetic but tried to excuse the worker who was there. That guy really needs to watch how he treats people. I haven't been back since. read more

My company had a bunch of seat cushion scotch guarded (water and stain proofed). They were very friendly and were quick to order the chemicals and get the cushions back. They did pick-up and drop off and were able to give us a good deal! read more

Worst cleaners. Our white bedsheets would come back stained yellow and smelling funky. My pink lace nightgown turned a weird shade of dark gray and it was oily. When I washed it myself, a lot of grease came off and it turned back to the original color. It's truly DISGUSTING. Do NOT go here. read more

I was throwing a cocktail party. I decided to plan the event myself: pick a venue, menu, bar, DJ the whole nine. Lots of work but not difficult at all. Everything was in place double and triple confirmed and paid for by Friday, with the party being on Monday. Unfortunately in all of my planning I failed to plan what I would wear to MY party. So Saturday I went shopping. After 7 or 8 hours I finally had something to wear. Unfortunately the jacket sleeves were a bit long. I needed to have it altered and ready by Monday afternoon. It was late so almost all of the dry cleaners were closed. Since it was Saturday most didn't open until Monday. I was on my way to a friend's place on 57th street when I stumbled on Chenille Cleaners. And they were open on Sundays! On Sunday I ran over as soon as they opened praying the sleeves could be shortened in time. The guy there was so nice and friendly and very professional. He took his time measuring and marking. He asked if there was anywhere else I wanted to have taken in. I said I felt it was a little big here and there but was worried because I needed it so soon. More measurements ensued and he assured me it would be ready by noon on Monday. I had to pick up the center pieces at the florist, so I didn't get back to Chenille until late afternoon Monday.I didn't even have a moment to try on the jacket. I thought either it fits or it doesn't, it's too late to do anything about it now. So I grabbed the jacket and headed to the party venue. I got dressed just minutes before the first guest arrived. The jacket alterations were exquisite. It fit like it was made for me. I cannot thank Chenille and the guy who measured me enough for their wonderful, quick and thorough work. The party was a smashing success as was my experience with Chenille. Well done! read more

Highly recommend this business. I had to have the pants to a new suit hemmed quickly for an event the next day. I went in on Sunday and spoke to a young guy with exceptional guest service skills who explained that the seamstress wasn't there on Sunday but that he would make sure it was done by 2pm the next day. Not only was it done before noon but the hem was perfect! Updated on 4-24-15, I went back and had a silk duvet cover cleaned. When I went to pick it up and inspect it, the woman helping me noticed one of the marks to be cleaned was still there. She said they would redo it so I left it there. When I went back it was gone. We have used this midtown laundry for several years. I finally "fired" them last Friday after they proved incapable, or unwilling, to follow my simplest instructions. I ALWAYS asked for our bed linen to be pressed and hung, not folded and put in a heavy laundry bag with towels. They did this OCCASIONALLY, but more often we received our bed linens wadded up and wrinkled amid piles of heavy towels. I called once and made sure there was a note on our account. I was assured there was and they would MAKE SURE our linens were pressed and hung. Next time they did not do it I called and talked to the manager who assured me that he would take care of it personally. Long story short, after FOUR phone calls this year, I am done. I have given them many chances to do it correctly and they can not. When I called for the FINAL time and told the manager than our linens could not be used as they were received in such bad shape, he looked at our account and said "Oh. It says right on there to iron and hang." But he did NOT offer to re-do them nor did he offer to reimburse us in any way. We are now utilizing MADAME PAULETTE. Yes, it is more expensive but in this case it is worth it. read more

I called Second Wave Laundromat and of course Chenile answered b/c they bought their ph number. I had no idea that SW was closed and I was calling a totally different business. When I found this out, I was about to hang up but the woman from Chenile was really trying to get me to use them. I took a chance since I really needed my laundry done at that moment. 1st issue: my laundry was already sorted and I wanted it done in the bags it was in "as is." In other words, I didn't need them to separate anything. I attempted to tell the woman 3 times that I wanted it as is...she kept saying not to worry that she would separate it for me. Obviously, this didn't sound right but Idk any other way to say "I don't need it separated" so I chalked it up to her language barrier (which I assumed based in her heavy accent and lack of understanding) and hoped she really did understand. When my laundry came back, she had charged me $2 extra to separate each bag. Ok, maybe she really didn't understand. 2nd issue: I had 3 or 4 sweaters in a sweater bag mixed in with my laundry. They came back still in the bag WET. In other words, these fools did not take the items out of the wash bag before they placed them in the dryer, so my sweaters were wet and the wetness was getting on the other clothes near them in the bag. SERIOUSLY? A laundromat doesn't know to take items out of a wash bag?! Yeah I'll pass. I didn't call them b/c between those 2 incidents, I'd never use them again. Plus, the woman who answers the phone either doesn't speak fluent English or doesn't speak fluent English when its not *convenient*. So what's the point? There are way too many wash & folds in the neighborhood to deal with this. read more

I own a Retail bridal boutique in Manhattan, Designer Loft Bridal. Never in my 16 years of bridal have my Drycleaned gowns looked as beautiful as after a cleaning at Chenille. These people are magicians and worth every penny! If you have a garment you love or cherish, it is so worth it to have Chenille dryclean your garment! Highly, highly recommend! read more

As drycleaners they're ok-- not terrific but not terrible. However, their alteration costs are so incredibly inflated and inconsistent and the work is not worth it. They altered a formal gown for me (alterations which cost almost $150) and the night of the event I had to have 2 friends do a little magic with safety pins in the bathroom as it kept falling down. I was infuriated. The zipper was uneven, it puckered, and I was just so angry that they charged so much for mediocre work. read more

I have not had the best luck with this cleaners. First they stained my new white sheets, I sent them back as they said they would get it out but no luck, now I'm stuck with a black marker looking streak across them. They disregarded notes to only wash my dark clothes in cold water so my brand new black jeans were completely saturated. The sheets and towels are returned starchy and coarse. And on top of that, I was told I would get my laundry that I sent in on a Saturday back on Sunday as I was leaving on a trip early Monday morning "oh no, your clothes were picked up after 12pm and the plant we send the clothes to is closed on Sunday". Yeah, they outsource your clothing. No wonder I'm always missing a minimum of 2 socks equally paired every time I get my clothes back. Oh, and not to mention they tried to charge me $35 to dry clean a blanket when it clearly states on their site the charge for "bedding/blanket" dry clean is $18. AVOID THIS PLACE!!! read more
