Food was ok. The fried rice is literally just that...fried rice...no veges no pork or anything in the rice. I should have just gotten plane white rice because the "fried rice" was smooshy. This is the best Chinese food place we have found near our home in Reston. We have tried several. That's not to say it's great food. I don't think the sesame chicken is made with white meat, but it is fairly tasty. We will continue to eat here unless a better place comes to town. read more

Used the online ordering system for delivery, which is very convenient. The one down side to that is that they do not give you an expected delivery time. Nonetheless, we received our order in what I would say is a standard delivery time frame. Our order included spring rolls, wontons, egg drop soup, combination fried rice, and triple delight. My husband and I agreed that the food was all good, though nothing special. While I would probably try them again, I'll keep searching for my favorite area Chinese delivery. read more

Even though it took 2 hours for my food to be delivered(it was snowing and they were down a driver) the food quality was top notch as far as Chinese goes. They forgot the crab Rangoon which happens to be my girlfriend's favorite( she goes crazy if they forget the rangoons) They came back fairly quickly and made it right, thus saving me from a rangoonless induced hell. I have just moved to the area and was searching for good Chinese food delivery. I was so happy with the food from Chen's Kitchen!!! The General Tso's Chicken was a really nice combination of sweet and citrus flavors....it was almost like Orange Chicken...but better. I also ordered the Crab Rangoon appetizer, it had a great filling and was nice and crispy. I just wish they had added some sweet chili sauce to the order. They did send the typical couple of packets of duck sauce, soy sauce, and hot mustard but those aren't great with Rangoon. I will definitely order from Chen's again! read more

I have eaten there several times over the last 6 months - usually once or two times a months. It was always very good and fresh. I recently had the wonton soup and the beef and broccoli. The wanton soup was uneatable as it was so nasty. I actually took the wanton out of the flavourless slightly yellow tinged broth and tried eating it that way but after one bite, I threw the whole thing away. The beef and broccoli was so greasy and tough, I ended up picking around the beef and eating the just the broccoli and rice. I like this place, I really do so I am unsure what is going on. In the past I've had some orders that were so so but never this out right bad. I'm not so sure that I'll go back again. read more

We ordered delivery this evening from Chen's after checking out Yelp, and we were not disappointed. The online ordering was easy, and our order arrived in 31 minutes (the website advertises 45 to 60). The crab rangoon was very flavorful, better than most, and the spring rolls were light and airy. I ordered the "Dragon and Phoenix" (shrimp/General Tso's chicken). The sauce on the chicken was just spicy enough without being overwhelming, and the amount of shrimp was generous. My Dad had the sesame chicken, about which he had good things to say. We will definitely be ordering again. read more

We tried Chen's Kitchen as part of our search for a new Chinese restaurant in the area, since our old favorite has been closed for quite awhile. Unfortunately, I don't think we'll be repeating our business. I'll start by saying they estimated delivery around 45 minutes, and delivered within an hour. Since we were told, this is an acceptable time frame. Although I did not try them, I was told the moo shu vegetables were pretty good. The rest of the food was not. Their "Chicken Chow Mein" is like no chow mein I've ever had. I'm not sure if they got the order wrong, or if they just have a totally different idea of what that is. What we received was a wet - almost soup-like - dish of vegetables and chicken without any noodles at all. It was not good, and we ended up pitching most of it. The orange chicken is acceptable, but not good. It is a little on the spicy side, which is nice, but overall I wouldn't rate it better than a 3/5. We also ordered some crab rangoon as an appetizer, and these were also pretty bad. They were chewy rather than crispy, as if they had been microwaved. It's possible the texture degraded during transit, since it was a delivery order, but it was a pretty terrible first impression. I really wanted to like them, with all the positive reviews, but our meal did not live up to the hype. read more

I've never been inside, so I can't speak to decor or ambiance or anything, but this is a very solid delivery chinese food place. We've had almost everything from standard fried rice and lo mein, to triple delight and soups. Everything is good, not exemplary, but definitely my go-to. Delivery has always been timely and kind. Good for what it is. This is a pretty typical americanized-fried-food-heavy delivery Chinese. When you don't feel like cooking it'll feed the family for a very reasonable price. We spent $30 bucks and had dinner and leftovers for lunch the next day for 3 people. Crab rangoon was notably good, as were spring rolls. Its nothing fancy- but we will order from them again. If I could leave less than one star then I would. We ordered Chinese food from them this past Friday and it took 2 hours to get to us. The lady who answered the phone at Chen's Kitchen was very rude and blamed the weather on the delay. She then offered a free chicken fried rice on the next delivery which is LAUGHABLE considering we spent over $30 on their food. The food and service is not worth the hassle. I tried this place on a late evening when I wanted something relatively healthy. I tried the beef and broccoli, and it was pretty bad. As another reviewer remarked, the brown sauce is way too thick and does not taste good at all. I actually had to wipe the pieces of beef on a napkin to reduce the amount of sauce. I really only ate it because it was late and I needed some protein. I did not eat the rice, so I cannot comment on that. read more

The best chinese I've been able to find since moving here from NY. I've had the sweet n sour chicken, sesame chicken, mongolian chicken, and cashew chicken. Every dish has been really good. Portion vs price is great too. And they've always had my order ready very quickly. read more

I am also surprised by some of these reviews. This place was absolutely horrible! They first told us our delivery order would take 45 minutes. It ended up taking 1 1/2 hours!! For only 2 meals!! Finally, after calling several times, we were able to track down the delivery man. He spoke zero English. He could only say "open door" and he continued to say this even though he was at the wrong door. I tried to tell him to go to the other door but he could not understand me. When we were finally able to get our food, we asked for some kind of compensation for the abnormally long time we had to wait for our food. They said they would give us our egg rolls for free. Thanks a lot! The food of course was cold, the egg rolls had almost nothing inside of them, and the way too large general tsos chicken was okay at best. MAYBE if the staff was helpful and considerate, we would consider trying chens again, but the entire experience was horrible. I recommend never eating there!! read more
